In this solo self‑help talk, the speaker addresses women who have recently ended a marriage and urges them to move beyond the familiar blame game. She recounts her own experience of blaming her ex‑partner during the decision to divorce, then realizing that both partners bring baggage and triggers into a relationship. By taking "radical responsibility"—deeply examining her own contributions, triggers, and learned patterns—she was able to understand how she helped shape the marriage’s demise and to prevent repeating those patterns in future relationships. She invites listeners to pause, reflect on their own role, and have a "come‑to‑Jesus" moment that shifts focus from external blame to internal growth, positioning this self‑accountability as a pathway to empowerment and healthier future partnerships.

Hello, heroines, and welcome back. Today I wanted to talk to you about something that might resonate, which is whether or not you're playing the blame game. I was there. I played the blame game for quite some time because as I was making the decision to exit the marriage, I realized that I was thinking through and I was thinking, well, you know, I'm doing everything I can. I'm trying this, I'm trying that, but He's not responding, or he's not doing anything, and he just sits there. And all of these things were running through my head until one day after the divorce I started thinking, well, wait a minute, because there are two people in this relationship, right? But I wasn't able to get beyond the blame game until I started to really take responsibility for how I showed up in the relationship. What did I bring into the relationship? What were my triggers? What did I learn from watching people around me and how they interacted in their marriage, right? So yeah, he had his baggage, but I had to realize that I also had mine. And that meant going in and going deep and understanding what were the things that I brought into my marriage. I could have sat there and played the victim, but I decided that I needed to show up and level up for myself because only by taking radical responsibility for my role in the relationship was I going to be able to understand what was going on, how I contributed to the demise of the marriage so that I wouldn't make the same mistake in future relationships. So if you are constantly looking outside, if you're looking at him and blaming him for stuff, I just want you to consider taking a pause. And I want to invite you to take a moment to think about how did I contribute to that. You need to have your own come-to-Jesus moment of, okay, Yeah, everything wasn't great, but just like he brought stuff, what did I bring and how did that contribute to the end of the marriage?
