So my new honey and I have been together for about 12 years. We both came from broken marriages, we both came with our own baggage, and when we first started dating, we were just having a good time. We dated for a few weeks, and after those few weeks, I realized I was falling in love with him, and I didn't know how he felt. So we ended up having an honest conversation, and I said to him, look, this is how I feel, this is where I'm at. I'm starting to fall in love with you, and if you don't feel the same, then I gotta walk away because otherwise you're gonna break my heart. And he wasn't ready to step up, so I walked away, only for us to reconnect a couple of weeks later. And here we are, 12 years in. One of the things that we laugh about often is that, first of all, we've been together longer than we were married to our previous spouses, but we're always like, "Hey honey, can you believe it? We've been together this long and we still like each other." And that is just such an amazing concept that not only do we have this love for each other, but we genuinely like each other. We have fun together, we laugh all the time. Having that feeling of being together with my best friend and know that we're going to be able to spend the rest of our lives together is huge. There is the love part, but there is the like part. I'd love to hear what you feel about that, how you feel about that, so let me know in the comments.
