In this short motivational monologue, the speaker introduces a practical method for uncovering the genuine reason behind any goal by repeatedly asking "why" up to seven times. The process starts with a superficial answer (e.g., wanting to be an author because you like writing) and drills down through successive layers of questioning until reaching a core, heart‑felt motivation (e.g., wanting to positively impact people). The speaker explains why moving beyond the initial, surface‑level answers is crucial for sustaining motivation during challenges, such as building a business or pursuing a long‑term project. By identifying a deeper, more meaningful purpose, individuals can maintain resilience when setbacks occur. The talk concludes with an invitation to contact the speaker for coaching support.

Have you ever heard people say when you're trying to figure out, you know, kind of what your big dream is, that you have to figure out your why? Because the why is going to be your motivation behind why you're doing what you're looking to do. So today I want to give you one quick tip for how to actually truly get to what the real why behind all of the other questions you might be asking is. So stay tuned. So when you're starting to figure— want to figure out why you're doing something, right, you can say, you know, why do I want to be an author? Well, it's because you like to write stories. Okay, but then why do you like to write stories? Well, it's because I want to impact people in a positive way? Well, why do you want to impact people in a positive way? So being able to ask the question why up to 7 times actually will get you to the true core and the true reason why you are endeavoring in that adventure or why you're pursuing this particular dream. And the reason why it's important to go down at up to 7 layers, sometimes you don't even have to go that far down, but at least, you know, 5 layers and sometimes up to 7 layers, if not more, is because the very first questions, the very first times you ask why, it's kind of the surface stuff, it's kind of the fluff stuff. So you want to get below that layer so that you can really truly get to the the stuff that resonates in your heart, the stuff that resonates in your gut as to why you want to do something, whatever that something is. So if you think about— if you're trying to build a business, right, or you're trying to, um, I don't know, start a new project, something that might take a while, something that's going to have its ups and downs, something that's going to not be so easy to achieve, by asking why 7 times, you get to truly go to the essence of the reason behind the action. So when your motivation kind of goes like this, or when life throws you a curveball like it did last week for me when I went in for my up and um, you can go back and you don't lose your footing as much because you're being driven by something that is bigger than those fluff surface reasons why. So next time you try to do that big thing that you, that you want to do, whether it's quitting your job to start your own business or finally pursuing a hobby that you haven't, that you've kind of set aside that could potentially turn into something more, ask yourself why 7 times to really get to the core of your motivation behind getting on that adventure. So that's what I wanted to share with you today. I hope you found this helpful. And if you are looking for someone to guide you on your journey, or if you've been thinking about coaching but you don't really know what all about, DM me, let me know.
