In this video, Alex announces his recent retirement from corporate work and his decision to become a full‑time Certified High Performance Coach, a shift prompted by the sudden death of a close friend. He reflects on the emotional impact of the loss, the disorientation of leaving a structured corporate routine, and the excitement and fear of embarking on an entrepreneurial path. Good morning, good morning. This is Alex. Happy Monday, happy snow day. The weather is absolutely insane out there. It's been snowing since yesterday. It's going to snow through tomorrow. So if you happen to be on the roads today, please be careful. It looks wicked out there. So I just wanted to check in and connect a little bit since I retired from corporate last week. Some of you may know I became a Certified High Performance Coach about 5 years ago, and I've been working full-time and trying to do some coaching on the side, It hasn't really worked out all that well. So at the same time, a very good friend of mine passed away of a brain aneurysm right before Christmas. And she's only— she was only about a year older than me. And that gave me a lot of pause. It gave me a lot of food for thought. And what I decided to do was to finally draw a line in the sand because I couldn't continue to do both. I needed to pick one and my heart was calling to coaching. So the decision was made to go full-time into coaching. So that's what I'm going to do moving forward. It's a new journey. It's scary and it's exciting and I can't wait to see where, where it leads. Funny thing is that on Thursday, which was my first day home or working from home, should I say, without having to check emails to see what emergency might have come in overnight, or, you know, checking to see what I need to add to my task list for the day, or what meetings I have that I need to start thinking about. I felt kind of lost. It was really bizarre. It was like, you know, so what do I do now? And the beauty is that I gave myself a few days to to just digest and to reflect and to schedule myself for this week. So I went through my whole agenda. I have everything planned in terms of what I want to do this week, what I want to learn, what I want to create, how I want to reach out to the community. And it's really, really empowering and exciting to see what you can do when you're master of your own agenda. So today is the beginning of a new journey. I am super excited. I'm also terrified, but I know it's in my heart of hearts that it's the right thing to do. So I just wanted to also take a moment to thank you guys for everything, for your texts, for your emails, for the calls, for the posts on Facebook. It made such a difference and it really put wind in my sails and let me know that the decision that I made was the right decision. So I just wanted to, like I said, say thank you, um, and also say stay tuned because there's more to come, and I'll be keeping everyone posted and updated as to the wins and the losses and the journey. And some of you asked how you can help. And it's really very simple. If you know somebody who's in need of coaching or who's expressed a desire for coaching, just make the connection. We'll take it from there. So like I said, just wanted to check in, wanted to say hi, wanted to make sure you guys are safe and sound, and I will talk to you soon. Take care. Bye.
