A woman compares women trapped in bad marriages to square watermelons forced to grow in boxes: confined, pressured to stay sweet, and less authentic than they could be. She argues society values the appearance of marriage over women's actual happiness and urges people to break free from these constraints.

Okay, news flash: you are not a square watermelon. Now you're wondering, what the hell does that have to do with anything? I don't know if you've seen those square watermelons, but they're actually grown in a box or in a shape, and because they're restricted, they grow into whatever shape that the farmer wishes. But here's the catch: they are not nearly as sweet or as juicy as when they grow naturally. And I feel like it's very much the same for women. Society wants to put us in a box, whether it has to do with marriage or divorce. You're supposed to stay in a relationship because the sanctity of marriage, whether or not you're compromising your happiness, your fulfillment, your everything, is indifferent. Just like watermelons, we thrive when we're able to show up as our authentic selves. And honestly, We all deserve that. We all deserve to be able to show up as who we are in the way that serves us and our happiness, our fulfillment, our authenticity. None of that should be compromised because of anybody else's expectations. If you feel like you're in a box, like your growth and your happiness and your fulfillment is limited, don't you think it's about time that you broke out of that? And you know how you do that? You do that by finally believing that you deserve it. Because if you don't believe you deserve it, nobody else is going to give it to you. So I think it's time that we stop forcing ourselves into these conventions and these expectations that aren't doing us any favors. Now, I don't know if you agree, if you don't agree, but either way, I'd love to hear from you. So let me know in the comments.
