Alitura CEO Andy Hnilo chats with model Crosby Tailor of Crosby's Cookies

A recorded live conversation between Andy Hnilo (Alitura CEO) and model/entrepreneur Crosby Taylor. They discuss Crosby's recovery and early isolation after moving, how skincare and nutrition helped his healing, and how those experiments became Alitura products. The pair outline detailed daily routines (morning push-ups to failure, a multi-supplement tonic, bulletproof-style coffee with MCT/brain octane and fats), a post-workout collagen/collagelatin shake (collagen, glutamine, glycine/proline, coconut milk, berries), probiotic and fermented-food strategies (megasporebiotics, VSL# options, fermented krauts, Coconut Cult), and biohacks (infrared sauna, cryotherapy, float tanks). They also cover business topics (Alitura Naturals product line, unisex customer base, trade show booth, Wildfire Initiative event) and promotion (use code "Crosby20" for 20% off). Practical skincare tips include derma-roller + mask + serum/night cream protocol (2–3×/week) and masking/clay benefits. The transcript contains product names, dates, and hyper-specific claims used for Q→A extraction.

It's such a trick to me. Like, when we first started, when I moved in here, I lived. I just stayed in my sleeping bag on top of my mattress for a little bit.
Yeah.
Because, dude, it was just like. It was coming from a studio, which was a little bit bigger than this room right here. It was overwhelming, man. I didn't hear any. There weren't any neighbors walking their dogs. I didn't meet anybody in the neighborhood. I didn't see anybody in the neighborhood for a couple weeks.
And so, like, because you were so immersed into your.
No, because you don't. You don't hear. You don't see anything. You don't hear a peep. The only thing you hear is just little birds and stuff like that, which is great. But it was a big adjustment just being able to walk around. A bigger response. I mean, it was. I don't. I mean, it was lonely. I mean, but it's. It's. It's a trip. Because human connection really is. You know what I mean?
It's everything.
Yeah, Just. Just the little highs. The waves here, and my old neighbor watered their lawn and, you know, like I said, people walking their dogs and stuff like that. I don't hear any of that. So it's been an adjustment. And you gotta. Really gotta stay busy. And it forces you. I don't. TV and stuff like this. And forces you just to work that much harder. But, you know, it's just on top of that, you get a little, you know, hearing cars, hearing people move and go about their daily lives.
Yeah.
It forces you to go, all right, I gotta get my shit together and let's go. But you don't hear a thing. Come on. You know, sometimes you just kind of lay in bed, you hear. You see little lizards, and you're like, oh, it's a cool lizard. And, like, next thing you know, it's 10 minutes later, like, what the hell am I doing?
I mean. Yeah, you're off the grid. You're completely off the grid here. Yeah. So I. I don't ever come over here in this side of town. Like, I don't go over the hill.
Yeah.
For only important reasons. So I'm sitting here for an important reason.
Yeah.
We're going to talk about some cool.
Yeah. And I really appreciate that. So.
So.
So to the audience out there, as I mentioned in my post yesterday and also in the title of this, Crosby has been. You've been extremely influential. Just in my recovery. He was the first person. You were the first person that I contacted. Just.
All right.
Man, how am I gonna beat this thing? I remember we would go to Dragon Herbs right there on Robertson, and I would just sit there, and I was a sponge to you. And then who was. Who was Susan? Was it Susan?
Yeah.
And then I would just.
Susan. She's still there, is she?
I gotta drop by and say hello. There was the only. Because I didn't. I didn't really feel it was right there. My jaw was wired shut. I didn't feel that comfortable. Definitely didn't feel that comfortable going to ear one. But I did once I started feeling a little bit better about this, you know, appearance. When your teeth are nubs and your jaws wired shut, you don't exactly want to be around the most beautiful grocery stores in America.
Oh, yeah, there's too many people there. I remember when that happened. And right in the beginning, you were like, cross, like, what do I need to be eating? What do I need to be putting on my face? Whatever. I mean, you figured out the face thing, but it was like you couldn't get anything down. You had to drink smoothies only everything. Everything was liquid. Yeah, we were doing, like, raw egg yolks, and you were doing, like, bison liver and.
Dear. Placenta.
Dear Placenta.
And then Susan and you were telling me, hitting it, hitting it. Like the skin from the inside is just as important. What you drink and you eat, what you ingest is just as important as what you put on topically. And we.
100%.
Yeah. So I had my little concoctions that I was making, which are now like the. You know, the serum night cream moisturizer. And obviously the clay mask was my first one. But that. That part I knew and I had had. I definitely had, like, an interest and a passion obsession with studying certain spot treatments. I would go down Air1, which is. It's in different stores like Whole Foods. And I would. They probably. It's funny to this day because I would get a lot of long looks because I was there, like spending a lot of time in the healthy beauty aisles just dissecting ingredients. But I mean, maybe an hour, 45 minutes. Well, it definitely paid off. But they're like, can I help you? You're spending.
What's up, guys? We're now live, my Instagram feed as well. Say, what's up? If you can hear us. This is Andy Nilo. He is the most. One of the most amazing entrepreneurs that I know personally. Really good friend of mine. That hard work does really pay off if you are consistent and persistent. Something like building a complete brand that it Turns into a dynasty kind of in like a year. You did it.
Thanks, man.
And it's one of those things. I mean, I look up to you in that way. It's one thing that I'm still trying to grasp in myself is that, like, just die hard work ethic every day. And I think that's something that maybe I'm here to learn from you, whereas you probably have some things that you probably want to learn from me. And so we're here. We're on Andy's Facebook doing a Live, but I'm also here. We're going to do a little tidbits here on Instagram Live as well. So if you have any questions, tune in and chime in with questions. And. Yeah, here we are. We're back up here, too. I gotta, like, look at both cameras. Yes.
Did you wanna.
Let's, let's, let's kind of like on.
Your wall as well, or did you want to do that after so people can be able to see that?
Yeah, once. This is Instagram. We're on Instagram Live now, but we'll share it. I will also be sharing this because the Live is gonna go away on Instagram. So if you guys want to tune in and watch the whole thing, because we've been going for another 10 minutes already, go to either Andy's Facebook page or my Facebook page. I'm gonna post it as well, and you guys can learn about all those. I'll post it. So, yeah, just to tell me, because I know these people want to know some of our health hacks, tips, tricks, all that kind of stuff, but I have a pretty intense morning routine. I know you have a pretty intense morning routine. So what does that look like for you? You wake up in the morning, like, go like, what are you. What are you doing right away?
Oh, man. So it's right out of bed. I do push ups till failure. I read when I was. When I was younger, I don't know, probably like early 20s. I read in Men's Health, they have these little tips and tricks, and they say energy is increased by 40% if you do something almost primally, like. Like say we're, you know, back in caveman days when they're, you know, they look like they wake up to a predator, right? You know, get going, springing away from them. And so I'm telling you, as soon as my eyes open, I mean, the people who stayed with me, Jordan Bowditch, if you're out there, my little brother.
Who, you know, so push ups till failure. How many how many do you get?
It used to be 80. Now I'm down to like 60.
80?
No, but now I'm down to like 60. These entrepreneur days are really wearing on me.
Right, right, right.
Yeah. No, it's. So I do that immediately, and then, you know, the blood is pumping. I mean, it feels great, but it's. You can't just can't sit around and screw around me. I'm telling you, as soon as you open your eyes, it's like that really fight or flight moment, you know, your cortisol. Maybe you can explain the whole science behind it a little better than I can, but.
So then you're. I mean, you're a tonic guy right away, right?
Oh, absolutely. So I go into the kitchen, right? Yeah, go into the kitchen, make my tonic. I do probably around 20 different supplements from, you know, you name it. The amino acids, the adaptogenic herbs, the superfoods, the different nanokinase, serrapeptase, arginine, agmatine, sulfate, glutamine, citrumine. I mean, you name it. Schizandra, hoshou Wu, gynostemma, chlorophyll, spirulene. I mean, it's so much. I'll definitely include all of this, but.
I learned we're gonna have to put a PDF.
Oh, absolutely.
Because they're like, what the hell are they talking about?
But I. I want to mention this. I do my best to give credit to you. Every time I didn't. You know, the thing is out there is, like you, I was a sponge in my recovery. Almost every day we would talk, you know, we'd wake up, you know, we're both up. We both have very similar routines, and that's. Dude, I learned that a lot from you, and I got it. That's what I want to do, you know, I mean, I want people to get the word, or I want to get the word out on what you're doing, what you're up to, and also just say thanks, you know, and just those. Yeah. In those beginning times when we would go up to those weekends, we'd go up to Malibu, you would make meals and just explain the different nutrients and what certain things like the sodium alginate and kelp powder. And I'm like, what is that? Well, now I can explain the sodium alginate in my mask and, you know, and vitamin a, c, k, b12. And just like the different, you know, like the nutrient densities, the nutritional content.
Yeah.
The mineral content in every different thing. But I learned that, though. I mean, I was A sponge around me. I still am. You got it.
Like, and that's a big thing for all the viewers out there is take, you know, people. There's a lot of people out there giving a lot of information out and stuff that works for them. So take that information and utilize it as best as you can and go, well, these things might work for me, but these things really don't. And I react to them negatively, but I react to these things positively. So you have to kind of tailor it for yourself. And like me and Andy did, kind of learn through time, trial and error what works for you and what doesn't. Because, you know, Schizandra might be amazing for both of us, but might not be good for one of you out there. Or a vegan diet might be good for somebody out there. But we're full on eating carnivore, you know, crushing red meat all day long. So it really depends on your body and everything. So take that with a grain of salt. You know, when it comes to my morning tonic, one of the first things that I like to do, shit, I might have to do this push up thing now. I'm gonna try this push up. I'm gonna do this push up thing tomorrow for sure. But what I like to do right away is I do a little manifesting gratitude situation in bed, just kind of telling myself the day is gonna be amazing and all these things are gonna come for me. And then I get up and I can literally sleepwalk into my first tonic, which is spring water, lemon, apple cider vinegar. And I've been using whole world botanicals, dropper of chanca piedra. And right away I'm doing everything and flushing my system when it comes to liver, gallbladder, kidney, bladder. Because, you know, we wake up first thing in the morning, especially since we were. I mean, I think you're a bulletproof coffee guy. I'm definitely a bulletproof coffee guy. But I like to give myself that little break and kind of have an alkalizing moment right away with the lemon and the acv, and then I move on to my bulletproof coffee. But if you are somebody out there that is having issues with digestion and elimination, and maybe you wake up and you're not going to the bathroom every morning, drink a ton of right when you get up, even just drinking a ton of water, getting hydrated is really going to help. But also things like the acv, the lemon, the chanca piedra, all these things have astringent qualities to where they're squeezing your lymphatic system. And your organs are kind of squeezing and doing these contractions to get your body to release. So if you have a lot of tension in your body or you're too anabolic and you don't release on a regular basis, try to do some of these things to maybe loosen your body up, loosen your system up. Those things. We got somebody saying, I'm gonna do the. I'm gonna try the push ups. So Eat by Elizabeth is trying the push ups.
Yeah.
Also I want to say Robbins, even.
If it's not push ups, Elizabeth, you know, jumping jacks, there's something physical.
Jen Galgano just joined the Facebook, but.
Yeah.
What's up, Jen?
It's not push ups. Just bodies, body weight, squats, something like that, till failure, where you're just. You're in that primal, like. Oh, you know, you survive. You know what I mean?
Yeah.
But, like, it's got to be as soon as you open your eyes. I do it as close to it as that as I can every morning.
Get the blood pumping.
Yeah.
So we're gonna try that, and then I think we both move on to different types of bulletproof coffees. I don't throw herbs. How long do you wait?
How long do you wait?
Shit, I'm like. I'm like, making the coffee, and the French press is going. And that's six to eight minutes.
So. Right.
I mean, I. I'm. Boom, boom. I don't know. Are you waiting?
Yeah, I do wait, because I just have a theory, because I'm writing up a plan for a buddy of mine, and it's a lot of liquid because my tonic is somewhere right around there, like, so say 30 ounces of mine.
He's talking this jug, so.
Yeah. But the thing is, I do a.
Lot of drinking this jug.
I do a lot of aloe vera, so that's. Aloe vera is just liquid. I just cut out the clear inner part, so when it's blended, it's essentially more liquid itself.
So healthy. Ballerina was asking if we put salt.
Himalayan salt in the water.
And that's. That's something that she's saying it was helping her adrenals. Yes. Salt is amazing for your adrenals. I did do that for a while. I actually was using a trace mineral dropper by Trace Mineral Research. You know that one?
Oh, man. You should give me a headache.
Really?
Yeah.
Which one would you like?
The zinc?
Yeah. But I feel like 20 drops of that, which is equivalent to sea salt without, like, all the extra maybe sodium that you're getting. But, well, yeah, so, you know, some bulletproof tonics in the morning. I think that, you know, if you can handle caffeine and coffee, there's tons of polyphenols and coffee. It's amazing for you, if you're somebody that maybe doesn't. Because I'm somebody that I burn through caffeine like that. Are you that kind of guy? Like, I can drink a cup of coffee and not realize I had coffee like, an hour later. I mean, my genes are like that. I think there's, like an actual gene. I got a gene, a genetic test done that said that I metabolize caffeine very fast.
Really?
So there might be people out there that don't metabolize caffeine that fast. And so they're like, oh, I can't drink caffeine because it probably stays with them for like, six hours. And they're like, off the rocker drink, and they're drinking black coffee. So when you're not. When you're not drinking the coffee that's got the oils and butter, it's not gonna. It's gonna absorb way faster. So that. I feel like that helps too. Right?
Yeah, that would. That would make sense. Makes sense. I'm right in the middle. So say if you're an hour. I'm probably like a couple, two, three hours. But I'm adding tribulus Ceylon cinnamon, cayenne chocolate powder, maca stevia, cordyceps. I'm missing something. Cacao butter, collagen protein. I mean, I'm. This. That's what this is. I love it. I'm, you know, I feel good.
He's, like, slamming. He's, like, leaving the house and slamming the door.
Hell, yeah.
Just screaming at the world, ready to go.
Sending annoying videos to my family and friends. But, hey, you know, it's just something I do part of my routine every morning.
Just.
It's something I, you know, like you said that consistency of that routine leads, I believe, discipline, consistency, work ethic, routine. All of that just leads to results.
Yes. We've got a couple questions on Facebook. Tim Drew is asking. We see you both at the conference for.
On October.
So excited for your serum and fragrance. Andy, you guys going to wall for me?
Yeah, we just, you know that. Yeah. So. Hey, Tammy, how are you?
Oh, it's already coming out.
Yeah. So, yeah, we just got our booth. We're. We're right there near the entrance. They.
They.
Yeah, we jumped on that quickly because of that. It's so important to get a nice. A good, you know, booth with near the entrance. And I mean, that's just. That's easily the best conference I've been to. Paleo Effects is course. I mean, it's close, of course, but.
It doesn't hurt that you look like a superhero. Alatoria. People are walking by and seeing all these, like, normal humans, and then they see you promoting the skincare brand. You're like, this is. This is weird.
It is kind of funny, this guy.
And what is he Got a skincare line. I mean, I feel like that's attractive to people because there's a. There's some. Some sort of. Sort of dichotomy there. There's like a contrast where people are like. And I feel like I have a very similar contrast. It's like, there's. Here's. These. Here are these, like, masculine guys that are doing more of a. Probably have like a. More of a feminine type thing that they're doing. Skin care is, you know, more women based. And obviously desserts. And some of my desserts look like they were like, foo foo out of Disneyland. So people are like, how did this guy make this weird?
Yeah, no, no.
Is that a pink icing? Like, I'm confused. Like, I'm sure.
I'm sure that you've got this, because I know I have. Like, if you ever got the old, wow, whoever hired you, great job. It's like, well, no, no, it's actually. It's my company.
It's me.
Up at Air1 and Calabasas are like, well, you got great skin. Tell your boss good work. I'm like, well, no, it's actually. It's my cup. I'm Andy. This is.
Before we started this. I started this. And then people really, like, kind of lock in and they're like, wow, this is interesting. I just saw my boy from the Bay area, Anthony Garrett. AG's online. What's up, AG? I'm not gonna answer your question. I don't want to get racial here, but thank you for joining in.
Yeah, it's like you said. I mean, I'm so glad that I got forced into this. This industry where I had to share what. What helped me get back. You know, before, when we were in the Carlsby and I modeled together for years. I mean, we're both still doing it, but we have interests and passions and both, you know, but I didn't. I mean, I was doing. I was really into skincare before because it was something that you could control the night before. You could look and feel your best going into that audition. That's Going to give you the best chance to succeed and. And book that job. And when you're doing that, you want to give yourself every edge that you can. With all the, you know, out here in la, there's not much separation. And believe me, there's a lot of people that look a lot better than me. So, I mean, you just got to control what you can control and take. And just really, you know, take advantage of that. And with skincare and with what I ate, with working out and things like that, the things that you can control. That's. I was doing that before the accident. So luckily the accident gave me. Gave me like a platform to where I was able to go, you know, hey, look, this has helped me heal my scarring. But I was hesitant before. I mean, because guy wants to admit, like, that they're wearing a mask, but I'm so glad that, I mean, I wouldn't have changed. I wouldn't change a thing. But, you know, here I am.
By the way, we got a question from. From Vibrant. Is it beauty? It is beauty. Vibrant, Beauty. She's asking what your skincare line is called. It's Alatura Naturals. You can get any of Andy's products there and research that and try to figure out if you want to use his products. I think you should. Obviously she's an esthetician, so maybe she's looking for me in, like a wholesale perspective, but.
Right.
Amazing brand. This is the creator here. His name is Andy Nilo. You can find him on Instagram at Andy Nilo as well as his Instagram's Alatura Naturals as well as his Facebook is Andy Nilo as well. So this is gonna be reiterated.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And if you want to throw me some love, I gotta. I gotta just. I got a discount code. It's gonna help you too as well. What does it get? Like, I don't even know how much they get.
20% off.
20% off. Crosby 20. All lowercase Crosby 20. So check that out. We also. Oh, my friend is telling everybody to come to the Wildfire initiative thing next week on Tuesday. So thank you for chiming in, but I wanted to ask you.
Sure.
Because I know a lot of my followers are interested in when it comes to body composition and those kind of things. But they're all like, what do you.
Eat right after your workout?
What is your post workout nutrition? Do you have a shake or some kind of meal? Or do you get something in your body within like 10, 15 minutes? Like, what do you. How do you work that out? Because you're working out at home mostly, right? You do it well.
LA Fitness is right down the way. And also I have something here at the house too, so maybe twice a week I'll do it here, and then a couple times I'll just get a little circuit workout at the gym. Just depends on how I'm feeling and that. But yeah, just to touch on what you. You just mentioned, it's. There's a window. I believe I've always been told, you know, in athletics, Crosby and I were both athletes. That's something you really downplay. Crosby. This dude was a stud quarterback at the Division 1 level. I mean, nobody knows that.
I dabbled in little situations.
Didn't you also wide receiver, too?
I played a little wide receiver.
Quarterback, wide receiver. That doesn't happen at the D1 level. So just, you got to give yourself a little.
I mean, I did that four, five, my senior year at six two, so that's crazy.
Four or five. Like, seriously, that's. That's moving and. Yeah. But anyway, that's respect. So anyway. But being. Being an athlete, you get a lot of information, a lot of good, you know, tips and tricks to help your body and help your muscles recover and get to the optimal level. And that just stuck with me. But I'm constantly learning. But I think the optimal window is between 30 and 45 minutes between when you finish the workout, I do a lot of bulletproof collagelatin. So say I'll do a scoop of collagelatin protein. A scoop of collagen protein. I prefer bulletproof products. And I'll do a teaspoon of glutamine which is kind of sweet. It doesn't affect the taste. A little bit of glycine, proline, which are. All three of those are amino acids. And it doesn't affect the taste of my shake. A little bit of either organic cherries or blueberries, frozen just to give it a little coolness. And then the base is coconut milk, full fat coconut milk, just to help replenish those good fats. Help your body absorb the protein.
Right. Sounds like a delicious shake. Now.
It's very. I'm addicted to it. And then maybe a little stevia in there to sweeten it, but it doesn't need much. But I have that within 30, 45 minutes. If you miss that window, I hear it's counterproductive. Maybe you could touch on that as.
Far as, like, it definitely is counterproductive, especially if you're going really hard. If you're doing anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour of training. In that time, if you're doing any high intensity, your body actually needs to replenish within that 30 minute window. Or else one thing that starts to happen, which nobody really wants and everybody has these days, is it starts to break down your gut. So your gut lining is one of the first things that goes. If you're on a consistent basis, not getting proper recovery fuel in your body right away, so the gut lining will start to break down, which in turn turns to leaky gut over time. So say you're doing these crazy workouts or you're going on these crazy runs all the time, and then you wait two hours to eat. Eventually you're going to break down your gut to a point where now you have leaky gut, now you have all these other issues that you're gonna have to combat where, you know, you're eating. You're like, oh, I can't. I don't understand why I'm eating such good food. And I still feel like shit. Well, it's because even that good food is getting through your, your gut lining and into your bloodstream, creating an autoimmune response. So on a regular basis you're like, man, I'm screwed up. I got, you know, people are always. Everybody's talking about this Candida and all these other bacterial issues that they're having, viral issues, everything, you know, other major issues. And autoimmunes are happening from the beginning where our guts are being broken down. And that's really, really important to make sure. And Andy touched on one thing post workout, that's, you know, something that recovers your gut lining. Just make sure you're not getting crazy amounts of it. Because a teaspoon is really nothing of glutamine. But if you're doing a lot of glutamine on a regular basis, that could eventually be bad for you. I had a conversation with Dave Asprey about that and I was doing more like 5 grams post workout, and he was like, just be careful because I heard that these types of things could lead to some issues.
Oh, really? Okay.
Yeah. I think it's a metabolic disorder that happens and it can create some, some problems that I don't really like to. I don't really like to say certain.
Put it out. Yeah, exactly.
I don't like to say those words. They're not in my vibration. It's not going to happen to anybody as long as their vibration is super positive. But, but yeah, so that's.
Just monitor those levels. I mean, I do half teaspoon to a teaspoon, which is. I think a teaspoon is 2.2 grams. Grams. So 2200 milligrams. So right after workout. But that's. That's what I do. So just I would do your research, maybe get your levels tested. I just got my blood work done and I have an appointment tomorrow. Rex, by the way, please remind me about my appointment tomorrow for. And just a side note, but yeah, so we.
Yeah, Andy has all of his people that work for him here. They're all.
Yeah, yeah.
Love it.
Another awesome. I mean, I would.
He's got a full on business. Killing it.
No, hey, man. It's just. It's. I just. When you get a chance, you know, it's just you just take it and run with it.
Right?
You know, when I partnered up with Dave Asprey, it's just. And then when he put it on his site, I was like, all right, well, not. I mean, you have no more. I mean, sitting around 30, 31 years old, wondering what you're gonna do with your life is. It's.
It's.
I just remember I was at a little bit of panic and anxiety, that flutter right here. Just not like knowing what I was gonna do with my life. And then now that I have a little. Have some purpose, found my passion. I mean, I'm just. I just take it and run with the daily. So this is one for me.
Now that we're kind of on the gut health train a little bit. I think your brother just asked what our favorite probiotic is.
Oh, yeah. You would. You're probiotics.
Yeah.
What up, Mike?
I'm. Yeah, Mike, I'm so fanatical about probiotics. I do the craziest research and this one goes out to actually Jen Galgano, who brought this to my attention. So Jen's still on. Tuned in. I learned about a probiotic called megasporebiotics from her. There she is. She's already saying it. Megaspores. And that mushroom, it is. It's from a blend of different spore mushrooms that act, you know, more of a. You know, it's not obviously not a probiotic from dairy. It's more the spore side. So what happens is it has the ability to get through your stomach acid and not get killed by the stomach acid. So it gets into the areas like your small intestine, which has most of the issues. So if there's people out there battling sibo, small intestine, bacterial overgrowth, something like the megasporebiotic is really, really good. As well as everybody's talking about this VSL3 that I want to check out. So those are two that I'm really interested in. I've used Omegaspore. It's amazing. I want to try the VSL3. It's also good to kind of like, I think, recycle a lot of different those things so your body doesn't get used to it. And then on top of that, you really should be supplementing some type of prebiotic foods or supplements. There's one by Arthur Andrews Medical called Fluorophage, which I've gotten a lot of people on and I've been getting a lot of good results. And Floriphage works in a way to where the probiotic that you're putting in your body is going to increase by 24, 25 times when you take it with fluorophage. So if you're getting, if you're getting 100 billion and you're doing the fluorophage, you're going to times that by 24. So now you're really taking over your gut in a healthy way. And your microbiome is going to be a lot happier if you are combating a lot of the yeast and bad, you know, bacteria with a terrain that is favorable to you. So that's what everybody's issue is these days, is if you have gut issues, if you have gas or bloating or headaches or anything that contribute, you know, is from like a candida or yeast overgrowth in your body, it's because you're, you're out of balance and your probiotic bacteria is low. And that actually you can lose probiotic bacteria on a regular basis just from stress. So if you're in traffic and you're screaming at somebody in the front, you lost 50 million probiotics right there. And it just goes, it goes and goes throughout the day. It's crazy.
I never even thought about that. Yeah, but I guess stress response, cortisol, all that stuff.
Cortisol. I mean, stress is one of our, you know, biggest enemies. And these are some things, you know, so Mike.
And we'll put the link.
To the links to these things as well as Dr. Gundry, who did the Plant Paradox book. He's got a prebiotic blend, it's like a fiber blend of some different types of inulins and prebiotic fibers. I think there's like a chicory and a green banana flower in there. There's, you know, there's plantains or even a resistance and starch. These are these are really good things to feed your good bacteria. So that's important. Definitely important.
So another thing that I'm just big on the fermented foods, so I'm egg on farmhouse culture, the krauts, sour krauts.
The krauts, and the gut shots.
Gut shots. I have two of them in the fridge right now. So I do the beet ginger. I do the jalapeno, smoked jalapeno. So they have these gut shots that are just. It's what they do to get that. That natural fermentation. I think they just add. I mean, to get. You could do this at home, right? So just in a food processor, you know, chop up cabbage, carrots, gin, whatever you want, right. And then add a little water, salt, and then you cover. I mean, there are recipes. I don't have one on me. My sister's made it, which is actually better than the brand that I use, but I just don't have the time to do it right now. So I buy it. But you take out just a bag of those, you can get it at Whole Foods or I think Trader. Nah, I don't think Trader Joe's has it. But farmhouse culture is a brand that I use. I love it. You mix with a little salmon, they.
Got a really good brand.
Yeah. Smoked salmon, avocado, you mash that all up, little cayenne hot sauce, and you're good to go for the day.
I mean.
I mean, that's what I do as a snack, you know, after I'm done with my intermittent fasting, which we'll touch on here in a minute. But, yeah, for me, I don't take a probiotic. I just eat fermented. A lot of fermented vegetables and foods daily.
That's a really good way to get your good bacteria happy. As well as we got Mr. Right here, who's throwing the Coconut Cult vibes at us. Coconut Cult is another amazing fermented coconut product that is loaded with good bacteria. The probiotic bacteria is super high, and I think for a jar, there's like 800 billion so. And that's easy to crush like half a jar, sometimes a jar in a sitting.
If it's good too, it's delicious. They usually are.
They got this coconut cream one that's so delicious. They make amazing products. And I've been using one. They have that air one.
I'm sure I've had it. Then is that.
Yeah, you know, there's the new earth, and then there's the Coconut Cult, which is always next to it. The Flamingo on it. I'm sure it's got that flamingo. It's my favorite.
The coconut coke.
It's my favorite. I watch it. I'm waiting for my next. It's my next shipping.
Yeah. Like the one that's like 25 bucks and the jar's gone. You're like, I hope that did something good. It's gone, right? Hey, yeah. You crumble a little bulletproof collagen protein bar in there. Mix it up on.
There's really amazing ways to make desserts that really aren't bad for you.
Oh man.
And if you're using, you know, like I really love using the sweetener Lakanto. Lakanto is a blend of monk fruit extract and non GMO erythritol from tapioca. You can also. We will put a link to that to see because I got tons of recipes laconto recipes for you to check out on my website, which is TailoredLife.com T A I L O R D Life.com and so go check that out as well as on my Instagram CrosbyTaylor. I'm looking at Facebook now because it's gonna. I don't need to tell people on my Instagram, but it's rosbytaylor. So go check out all the recipes that I have on there and I'll be dishing out more in the coming months. And I feel like we both have big things coming up with our brands.
Yeah. And so I wanted to just touch on that. So when I was going through just my recovery and I was my whole sponge period of just learning how I was going to recover quickest and how my system was going to build itself back from the inside out. I was just listening to you. But those weekends up at Allen's place of just learning, making meals at, you know, thank you. Because not only did that, you know, just going up to Malibu, just kind of just releasing and reflecting on the week and just learning from you and making delicious meals, that just repetition of being around like minded people, man, that really helped me out because if I was sitting around kind of, who knows, moping and maybe got caught into some other temptation type type of scenarios which LA has a tendency to do sometimes I don't know if I'd be in the same place. So that's just a. Basically a thank you to you. And, and also I wanted to share some of those. That's where I knew that you had something. I mean I know you did, but that was the beginning of it. Making those kick ass Meals that are now, you know, eat dessert, burn fat, which are in, you know, all these big time. I mean, so tell the audience a little bit about what you're up to now and, like, what you've been doing. I mean. Cause it's so fun for me. I mean. Cause we would sit around, see the audience out there. We were just kind of spitballing ideas of maybe one day having a business and doing something. But that spitballing led to, you know, that getting those creative juices flowing. And, I mean, I never start speaking it into existence.
Right. Yeah, you gotta.
It was never, like. It was just a. You know, it was a respect thing. I mean, I think we each believed in each other, you know, equally. And I know having someone else there that was extremely successful. Whoever. Whoever it was that would eat with us. But those meals and that spitball and that. That. That constant creativity and of ideas just kind of throwing them out there.
Yeah.
The universe responds. I mean, look at you now. I mean, it's just. It's really cool to. To see where. Where things have headed. I mean, we're just getting started. So I just want to say it's pretty badass one. When. When you. When you look back at it, you know?
Yeah, my. I've. I'm good friends with Marcel, Chef Marcel, who runs and owns a couple awesome restaurants right next to each other called Wolf and Beefsteak. So if you live in the Los Angeles area, shout out to Marcel. He's got two sick restaurants you gotta go check out. It's on Melrose. They're right next to each other, Wolf and Beefsteak. And we were talking the other day about having me come in and put some of his staff through a couple of my recipes and featuring them at Beefsteak to get some things going over there for myself, for him. And so those are. That's the new plan for the desserts. When it comes to food, man, it's. It's. It's a journey, you know, that's the perishable items, getting things going and in stores and stuff, people are always asking me, when can I buy your desserts? Like, when is it?
Tired of that?
And I'm like, yeah. You know, I've actually had interesting conversations with the owners of Erewhon. They totally want to carry my stuff. But it's been just this roadblock for me of figuring out how to scale the product, getting a package, getting it made, getting it scaled. Maybe it's commercial kitchen, Maybe it's with Marcel. Who knows how it's gonna Go down. And eventually, you know, I know I have faith that it's gonna happen and something amazing is gonna break with the desserts because people need it. You know, when there's a necessity, when there's a need for it and there's a must. I feel like Tony Robbins always talks about having like a must for something, and when there's a must for something in the world, it's eventually going to get done. And I'm just, you know, trying to figure out who the best people to have behind me are in that journey. And, you know, you. You kind of were trying to figure your thing out in the beginning and all of a sudden had that relationship that really worked out with Dave Asprey and Bulletproof to get your business off the ground in a very positive way.
Absolutely.
So I think the big break for eat dessert, burn fat CR cookies, all of that is going to happen very soon. There are some TV things in the mix for myself that I think will push and drive the brand in a certain way that I'm going to keep people posted on some Food Network stuff that could be happening very soon. And so just on a consistent basis, just meeting the right people, staying persistent, say, you know, and staying in a place, positive place, knowing that things are gonna unravel in the right way. So.
So you were on Chopped, right?
I did Chopped, yeah. Shit was so hard.
Yeah. And then.
Fuck that.
Yeah. So that's badass. I mean, you've been featured in so hard. I saw you on something recently like Yahoo. Didn't you do like.
I did a little piece, yeah. With my friend Max Lugaver.
Yeah.
Shout out to Max, the, you know, my brain dude over in New York. But we did. The first time I ever met Max, we did an interview at the Bulletproof conference and Yahoo. He was with Yahoo. He got contracted to do something interview wise at Yahoo. And there's a Yahoo health segment that I did about my desserts and kind of just more educational, talking about sweeteners and what things to stay away from in terms of glycemic index and all that kind of stuff. So. Yeah, but that was. That was cool. What do we got going on, Steve? Weirdest join. What's up, pops? My dad is on the Facebook Live.
The funniest dude.
He is really. He really needs to have his own.
Guys. He could just put them on a mic or just. He could like do it like a chicken dance or sussing, man.
Some of his best moments are when he doesn't know what to say and he's Just staring around.
Just put a camera. He's like, honey, get that camera off. Yeah, he just is.
He has these, like, Saturday Night Live moments that are just so funny. If you knew. If you know my pops, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Hopefully he's already popping up.
Who's this? Pink Stinks is asking what my favorite dessert is, man. What is my favorite to eat or to make?
Well, why don't you just tell them both?
Well, does it. Class does banana. Is banana bread classified as a dessert? Oh, I feel like it can be.
My mom.
My mom makes the best banana bread. And I've been, you know, I worked for years to try to figure out how to make it healthy.
Shout out to Karen.
Shout out to Karen. I. I did eventually made and make it make an amazing recipe that I haven't shared with the world yet.
But that.
That's gonna come. Recipe book and stuff. Banana bread.
Shit.
What else do I really, really like? There's, you know, if you make them right, there's really nothing, like, amazing, like.
Right out of the oven.
Chocolate chip cookie.
Yeah, get that. Like that initial crunch and then the warmness, like a gooey, like the chip in the middle, you know, I know.
That'S so classic, but. Oh, Karen's here too. What's up? Karen?
There she is.
I call my. My mom Karen. For viewers out there. I should probably start calling her mom more.
Yeah, that's funny. Every time I call my mom sue, she gets. She laughs.
Really?
Because she's mom to me.
But I'll be talking to a friend, and I'll be like, you know, I'll be like, yeah. And then Karen. Who's this Karen person? I was like, no, like, why don't you just call her mom? I was like, I don't know. I feel like I just call her Karen.
So. But that's. That's another reason why you're gonna do what you're gonna do is because there's, like, there's a level of creativity that you. You bring with. It's. It's laughable. You know what I mean? Where it's like the. The next level attention to detail, going the, you know, above and beyond with your ingredients. Like, say, you know, the jungle. It would always make me laugh with, like, you know, you know, we. You take the bite and obviously it's amazing, but it's all these, like, new creations that you just generate through your intellectual property, which is. You can't teach that stuff. You're not copying anybody.
Right?
You did. You're Doing it all on your own. There's a level of genius to that, which is really inspiring to me. And so that's that along with your discipline, man. It's just. It's fun to watch because it's going to happen.
Thanks, dude. Yeah, and if you're just tuning in on my Instagram, we got all the parents, you know, watching. If you're just tuning in, you're just getting on. Don't worry if you've missed anything. This is going to be put up on both of our Facebook accounts. My Facebook, personal and business. Crosby Taylor as well as Crosby Taylor. We're as well as Andy Nilo, which is his Facebook. So go watch it there. If you're just tuning in now. Also, we'll, you know, be providing links on our Instagram. So if you follow us on Instagram or if you plan on it at CrosbyTaylor, as well as at Andy Nilo, that's definitely not with his.
There's an H. Yeah, it's Andy H, N, I L, O. So, yeah, just to kind of. It's like a lot of people do, obviously. I. I just. So with. With the. The Wildfire initiative, like, I'd like to just kind of touch on that. It's. It's a great. I love everything about that. Can you just kind of like, explain what another just thing that you have going on?
I know. And, you know, it's really funny because as I feel like as an Aries, I'm really good at starting shit. Like, I'm a really good starter of things, and I need the people around me that I'm really good at finishing it. And this is just another thing that, like, I feel like, you know, me and some. A couple other founders have started and we're working on, like, how this is really going to grow and develop. Same as the desserts. Like, I started something really creative, and I need that, like, other backbone person to kind of help me along. But my parents have always been like, oh, you got another thing going on? What is it now? Oh, you're acting. Oh, great. Okay, you just started that. Oh, you got a new group now. The Wildfire initiative. Cool. Like, what else are you going to start, Crosby? Like, what else is going on? And I'm like, you know what?
I actually.
Part of the thing I love about life is starting all these things because I feel like I'm very passionate at bringing something new forward that I can lead by example with. And the Wildfire initiative is just another thing that with kind of my health and wellness lifestyle. One thing that I got into with a good friend of mine, my friend Brian Ellis, was we started doing these, like, breathing practices in the park. We started to host people at my apartment doing these breathwork activities, Qigong, seated breathwork, kind of like breath of fire stuff, as well as some, like, more Wim Hof style. You know, the people out there, they know this Wim Hof breath stuff like that that we've been doing, as well as some deep meditative work, yoga, Nidra, and those types of things that Brian's really skilled at. And we were doing some of these things and it just kind of caught on. And in the beginning of it, there wasn't really like a we need to do this. But then, you know, Brian, he was at. He went to Mount Shasta. He did this like insane water fast. I think he. He was there for like almost a.
Month on only water.
Water fasting.
Don't tell me he was like, on the water. Mount Shasta?
Yeah, straight from.
Wow.
Yeah. He thought he was just gonna grow a long white beard and stay there and just be like, you know, a Mount Shasta monk. And he had these, like, epiphanies every night that he wanted to do this. He still needed to do some things as a two dimensional being here, because.
I feel like if you do that.
Long enough, you're not a two dimensional being anymore. You're in these other dimensions. So he came back and he's like, yo, this is my idea. I need some of my boys to help me. And so we put together what we call and what Brian started the name as the Wildfire Initiative. And the Wildfire Initiative is basically a experiment in our collective consciousness to figure out, kind of almost not even figure out, to experiment with life in a way that has certain tools that enhance the quality of our life. And one thing that we fall back on is the breath. Because our emotions are such a big part of our life, and on a regular basis, we're holding our breath. What we figured was here are some practices that can really help people with stress levels with just in general, how our body reacts is a major thing for our health and well being and longevity. Because if we're reacting in a negative way to stress all the time, I don't know if that's gonna have us live that long. No. Whereas the people that are really stress free can live for, you know, as long as nothing else happens to them, can live for quite a long time and live with a high quality of life. And so one of the main things that we offer with The Wildflower Initiative is this experience. We do a Sunday walk and talk at Runyon Canyon. If you live in Los Angeles, come and check us out there. We're at 10:30 every Sunday we do that. We have a workshop coming up or an event coming up. Tuesday, July 18th. Next Tuesday, July 18th at Alo Yoga. We partner with Alo Yoga as well as an amazing sound bath DJ named Torpam G. And we're going to do everything from breath work and Qigong to a deep meditation with Brian guiding it as well as Torkham providing these 432 sound frequency beats which if you don't know anything about that, go check them out. They're really, really deep relaxing beats that are actually in alignment with the heartbeat of the earth. So it's aligning us and the frequencies of us in that way. And then we're going to have some amazing desserts. So that's July 18th, the wildfire initiative at Ali Yoga. So that's. Hopefully you can make it too.
Yeah.
That'S next Tuesday. Next Tuesday. Well, we're doing Sundays and then we're doing this event. It's at 6:30 at night.
Nice.
Tuesday, we've got somebody asking about cryotherapy. Are you okay?
Oh man, I am just. There's. There may be a place around here. I mean I've tried it all as far as like, what's the, the floating cryo. I love sauna. I've never. I get the most like benefit from, from infrared saunas. I mean when I. Every time I have to keep a notepad and a pen in my car because I'm the guy running back to my car with just the ideas. I don't know what it is like getting the impurities to leave your system and just like the endorphin rush that it gives me and the clarity that gives my brain. I mean that's where I get my best, you know, content thoughts, ideas is in a sauna. So sauna. I would go sauna, cryo. Like floating. I haven't done it in a while just because, I don't know, I mean it was, it was great.
Fennebit.
And then floating has been amazing. Dude, falling asleep in a float tank, it is a complete reset.
Wow.
Complete reset.
I haven't done the float tank yet and I really want to try.
You haven't done it?
No. Wow.
Yeah, you got. I'm sure that they would sponsor you too. There's a, there's a place, but there's.
The thing is there's like a Fence one, right.
There's a Venice one. I think there's one over here in, like, Pasadena. Glint, like, in this area, too, but yeah, check it out. I can't believe I've done it, but, yeah. So I used to do cryo. What about you? You a fan?
Yeah, I love the cryo. I go to Next Health, which is on. Oh, that's right.
Yeah.
Yeah. So I'm like, there. I try to be there six days a week. They're only not open on Sunday, so I try to go every day when I have the time. It's amazing. I feel like that's a really good reset for me. Enhances your recovery. And the really cool thing about it is as soon as you get out, the really amazing thing about cryo, that it enhances the recovery is that because you're so freaking cold, your body, in terms of heating itself back up, blood, rushing to certain things, will rush to the extremities as well as your vital organs right away, as well as anything that needs recovery. So it goes there. Boom. Like, right away. And within 15 minutes of doing a cryo session, I can definitely tell that, like, if my lower back was bothering me that day, you get kind of like a tingling sensation where the pain. Where the pain was pain might have been. So your body knows. Your body knows. If you give it the right stuff, it knows where to help and heal.
As far as inflammation response, that's got to be. So is your routine workout, nutrition, cryo? Boom.
Yeah, that.
That's you. Because it's probably pretty close to where you sell an equinox. You still work out?
Yeah. Do a little equinox or like, outside a workout.
Yeah.
Then I'll hit a meal normally. Ere1, a healthy meal over there, usually of, like, a good solid protein with cruciferous vegetables. Cook cruciferous vegetables and like, an olive oil. Or sometimes I'll bring, like, a brain octane with me or something like that. So more of, like, good fats, veggies, protein. And then, yeah, I'll wait a little bit. I don't like to go on, like, a full stomach to cryo, but I'll wait a little bit and I'll head over there. And sometimes if I really need to recover, my body just knocks me out. After that, I'll do cryo. And then literally, like, I'll go home and I'll be like, knock out for like an hour. I can't. Quick, like.
Yeah. Little midday nap.
So it works. Trapping Trev. Thank you so much. He's. He's a awesome follower that has lost since, you know, following some of the things that I'll post. He said he's lost 20 pounds.
Nice.
Awesome. So congrats, man. Congrats to you, Trev.
Congratulations.
That's super dope. How many meals a day do we eat?
I'm at 2. I'm at 2 same. I have a big one at say 2 or 3pm and then I'll have another one after, say, either workout or night. And then I'll maybe I'll do a little shake here and there. So two and a half if you consider that shake a meal.
But yeah, I think we're on the same schedule.
Yeah. No, no real snacks. I don't really. I don't know.
I kind of. I mean, I don't really mess with the snacks either. I used to mess with the snacks. Heavy. I used to like, get like a big bag of almonds. Oh, yeah. I realized that that shit made me like. That created a lot of inflammation in my body when I was eating. When I was eating smaller meals throughout the day, I felt. My body felt worse than when I'm. When I'm eating two meals a day. And I think that is definitely the contributing factor is that of that is. Is that when you're.
And I.
A friend told me this one time. He said. And I looked it up and I.
Was like, oh, wow.
This is. There's a lot of information on this. There's two things that your body does and they can't do it at the same time, and that's digestion. Digesting food and healing. So when you're digesting food, you're not healing. When you're finally on an empty stomach is when the healing begins. Which is why fasting is so good for you, because it allows your body to go into a healing phase where there's all this energy happening for your body to heal as opposed to most of the energy and blood and everything that's going on. When you, you know, pack on a big meal, it's got to digest that first before it goes into healing. So if you're eating every two hours, when are you healing?
No, and it makes sense. I mean, it's. It's just, you know, we touch back on, you know, the primal, the caveman. I mean, you didn't know when. You couldn't predict when your next meal was not like you're, you know. Correct. They were crushing snacks all day. When they had it, they loaded up and they didn't know when it was again. I mean, it was Just, I love feeling light on my feet. I love when my, my diaphragm is close to my, you know, my, my belly button is closer to my spine. When I was eating a lot of nuts and a lot of quinoa grains, you name it, I was constantly inflated right here. I mean, I felt like I was doing, yeah. Inflamed. And so I felt like I was doing something great for my body. You know, quinoa. Right. Nature's protein or great, whatever it was considered. There was a lot of back and forth on that. But I know what, it would just take my body longer to digest and I'm better off of it. That's me personally. I mean, I know a lot of people out there.
I've also.
Quinoa.
Yeah. I've also personally felt really intense benefits from laying off of grains, beans, like legumes, couple different types of nuts that are high in lectins as well as some seeds and all the nightshades. So these all have very high lectins in them. And if you don't know much about lectins out there, it's a certain type of protein that protects the vegetable or the grain or the bean, whether it's in the seed or the skin. Brown rice is another one of them because the brown rice has the skin. So it's actually better to eat white rice. Those types of things. The lectins. According to Dr. Gundry, the plant paradox can be highly inflammatory for the body and specifically for certain genetic makeups. It can create a lot of inflammation and push you into some problems, autoimmune problems and that kind of stuff. So just do. Yeah. Do your research and figure out, listen to your body. What's going on with that. Exactly. Listen to your body.
I say that a lot, but I mean, it's just, you have to, you know, it's tough to tell people, what am I listening for? You know what I mean? When you, you're so used to being inflamed. I get it. That's why I'm gonna throw that one off to you because.
Wait, wait.
You know, as far as like, you know, listening to your body and like what to look for when you're inflamed or. Yeah, you know, it's, it's tough when you've been just used to that, you know, the big breakfast in the morning, toast, bagel, you know, oatmeal. It's like, dude, I'm just, I'd have to take a nap at 11 in the morning after having that big ass breakfast. I'M so glad I don't anymore. So better without it.
Oh, my mom's talking about my. So my friend Craig Lund that I grew up with is asking where he could get your product. He wants to get some for his wife and himself. And if there's a difference between the masculine and feminine, can he and his wife both use Craig?
Hey. So, yeah, it's our customer database is. It's unisex. The whole line is 55% women, 45% men is our customer database. And it's just. That's the whole thing. It's like I just want to create. I don't want to create any customer confusion right off the bat. They said our packaging was too masculine. I'm like, all right, I just want to create. I had a vision, you know, I wanted that Hugo Boss. So I'll just answer his question. Sorry. So, yeah, it's unisex right down the middle. I mean, depending on what you use and what you're looking to use. I recommend the derma roller, mask serum, night cream. I mean, it's. It's tough to talk about, like, where to start off, but if you've never done a mask before, the derma roller and then the mask combo, and then finishing up with a serum at night before you go to bed, it's very stimulating. You're gonna be nice and flush, but if that's.
Those.
Are those capillaries getting circulated around the face of.
And if you're looking at the comments, Desmond, just put the website. So go check out the website on the Facebook live.
Thank you.
Naturals.
And then use. Use code Crosby20. Where we're just.
Yeah. Crosby20. When you sign out, you're gonna get 20% off Craig. So I know you like a deal.
It's. Yeah, it's.
This guy's, like, traveling all over the world. Friend of mine.
Oh, cool.
He's in Dubai, and then he's, you know, Greece, and then he's in Italy. And what does he do?
What do you do?
I don't know. Honestly, he. Professionally just lives an amazing life.
That's badass.
Yeah, he's never got it all over the place with his wife, so.
That's cool.
Congrats to Craig. He said usually just coconut oil, but I'll get on it now, that deal. There you go. Get on it, Crosby20. Don't forget to use it, Craig, we gotta catch up. We'll catch up later.
Yeah, it's just. So what. What got me into skincare? It's just there were. That's why I spent so much time in those aisles because I'd always find some type of hole in products. Now, whether it was something at the end, some preservative that I didn't want to be there, whether, you know, phenoxy ethanol, potassium sorbate, citric acid, there's so many harsh preservatives. When was the last time you ate food with a preservative in it? Right? I mean, never. I mean, I'm like Kramer from Seinfeld. I'm eating fresh food every single day, you know what I mean? Because I don't want anything. I think our body responds best to, you know, live, live enzymes and we can. That translates right into skincare, I believe. You know, this is all just, you know, I use myself as my biggest science experiment. And I mean, just the necessity of not finding what I would want on shelves, that attention to detail just kind of led to, you know, creating melting down butters in a cast iron pan in my kitchen making a chunky little product to follow up with my mask. Well, that chunky little product is now the night cream. And just, just, you know, people at the beginning kind of didn't really believe in that vision of, well, you're going to need to fill. I mean, that's too expensive to make, you know. But I was like, all right, well, I don't, never had an intention to have a business with this, making it for myself to heal my scarring and accelerate my healing of my abrasions and things and things like that. So that's just how this all started on my end. And we're just kind of running with that mission of just creating next level products with you. I know you can respect because when you're, I mean, it's just one thing after another. It's almost too much when you're describing your, whatever it is, your cookies with the colostrum that's, you know, the IGF1 loading. IGF1 growth factors because it's collected within the first six hours. I mean, it's grass fed rich. I mean, it's just one thing.
After that there's an attention to detail that I think we both really have and a passion to put out a.
Product that is meticulously sourced with an ingredient deck that is just laughable. Seriously, it makes you, yeah, it makes you kind of giggle a little bit because it's just one, you know.
What's up? Janae? Janae Mushegan. My mom just pointed out a friend.
Of mine who causes forehead wrinkles and is there any. Oh, Sorry.
No, I'm just saying. What's up to Janae? She. She just signed on a good friend of mine, actually the daughter of my college football coach, Steve Mushagan. Steve Mushagan? Yeah.
Oh, no way. Yeah, he was there when I was there.
Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's right. So we both went to SAC State. Yeah. Andy was playing baseball there, I was playing football there. We didn't really know each other until we got to LA and started doing some modeling jobs together. Right.
That's a trip.
I think that's where we first met through a good friend of ours, Nate Owens. Yeah. Nathan. And we definitely have had our crazy nights out.
Oh, man.
Part of, you know, there's. There's the. The darkness really helps you see the light. Right?
I mean, people.
You have to go through your shit. People have to go through this shit. And, you know, hopefully it happens in the early stages and then you can recover and it's not too damaging, and then you're on.
And you, you, you.
You know, you gotta touch. I feel like everybody has to touch the stove for themselves to figure out how hot it is.
There you go. That's a variable. Yeah.
As opposed to having other people be like, oh, don't do that, don't do this. So, you know, it's life experience, you.
Know, I mean, it's like you either learn from it or you don't.
What's that?
Oh, well, hey, you know, let's keep some of the stories to ourselves anyway, so. So let's. Let's touch on. Let's see here. Justin, is it. Let's see.
So Justin telling me, oh, I can only go for an hour on this thing. I guess I got two minutes remaining on my Instagram live, so it's all good.
We got it right here. We're gonna. Yeah, we'll clean it up and we'll. We'll put this. Just share it on yours. But I, you know, I'm happy to. To stay. So, Justin, to touch on your question. See here, to touch on your question with the four. With the forehead wrinkles. So thing. In my opinion, I really like the Derma Roller. So what the derma roller does is they have these little titanium micro needles which you roll all over your forehead in tiny little X's and plus signs all over. And what it does and say, if you follow with my mask or someone else's mask or serum at night before you go to bed, you're going to create just a level of absorption that is a lot higher than just, say, putting it On, I mean, it just crosses that first layer of your skin and gets right into your bloodstream and into that skin and nourishes it while you sleep. So my ideal protocol for that would be microderma roller mask, serum night cream. But I stay consistent with that two to three times a week. And then I just, you know, a good diet, not overdoing it with sun exposure and then really focusing on the products that you're using because believe it or not, a lot of those products can be extremely drying. The colors, artificial fragrances, as we mentioned, the preservatives, the toxic chemicals that are in it accelerate, you know, the aging process in general. So say you go outside and you're wearing one of those toxic products, you're baking them in with the sun and you're, that you're, I mean, it's just, I think the whole process of keeping it is keeping your skin as hydrated as possible and then really putting nutrient dense ingredients. You know, your skin is your largest organ, so you really want to treat it like another mouth. And so just the very good foods that you're putting into your system, you want to, you know, follow that up with really nutrient dense, really nutrient dense, very nutrient dense, you know, skincare products as well. My forehead wrinkles, I know for a fact that I probably maintained or gotten a little bit better since I was about 23 years old when I was playing. I had a lot of sunspots, a lot of little fine lines and wrinkles that have been, that have diminished with just my, you know, self testing for these products. I do a lot of my beta testing on myself before I'm able to hand them off to other people to try off or try out and get their opinions. But it's, I would, I would definitely, you know, use a derma roller and stay on top of exfoliation and then feeding that freshly exfoliated skin, mineral rich ingredients, growth factor rich ingredients, superfoods. I mean there's so many things to, to keep that skin nice, vibrant and radiant. Yeah.
And if you're, you know, when it comes to your diet, you can get those wrinkles to pop out faster than you would like as well. So if you drink alcohol on a regular basis, if you eat a lot of sugar on a regular basis, you're going to age faster and it's going to show up on the outer layer of your vessel. So like something as easy as cutting back on alcoholic beverages, especially the ones that kind of do the most harm. Beer, red wine, these things. People think that red wine is so good for them. It's not so kind of looking at that and examining that as well as when it comes to foods getting good nourishing fats in your diet. So everything from, I mean we're big believers in like olive oil, avocado butter, grass fed butter and ghee, coconut oil and brain octane and MCT oils, omega 3 rich fish oils. These are all, you know, eating good things like that. Sardines, we're big sardine guys. These are all amazing oils. When you see somebody that's got like amazing skin, they're usually going to, unless it has crazy, crazy genetics, they'll be like, oh yeah, I eat a lot of good fats in my diet. That's how I'm always glowing and how the skin looks good. So that's really, really, really important. And that's going to keep your elasticity.
And like just the really good. I mean when you're getting those good oils, those oils come to the surface and then act as a little hydrating mechanism them, so to speak, when you're not getting them. That's what causes like that drying effect and kind of allows that, yes. Fine lines to become more exposed. When you're getting those oils, those little fine lines and wrinkles get filled in. And so that, you know, that's, that's the whole process with, with, with, with the mask and Save my derma roller. It's like even if it's just for, you know, repetition for that 24 hour period, which is usually like what I get from a mask, it's just you're producing a nice vibrant appearance in that radiant appearance naturally, which there's no unpredictable downtime. I did this. I mean for me I've had so much unpredictable downtime with things like, you know, chemical peels, enzyme treatments, microdermabrasions, laser, I mean, you name it. And so with the mask, I mean personally the thing I love about it is I'm good to go. I just have a little bit of redness. Within, you know, 30 minutes it's gone. So hydrate and so you're good to go.
Oh yeah, I did a mask the other day and I did with that, the ACV ACV mix and you look like tomato right, right out the gate, you're like, you take it off and you're like, well you should have but like give it 10, 15 minutes and you are so. It's crazy, like crazy glow. Skin feels so soft and, and the.
Tightening though, it's like right around this area. That congestion is something that used to always bug me. That's why I got so addicted to doing these clay masks, is because that congestion, whether it's from diet or whatever, is completely taken away. That's that, that circulation of the capillaries right here in that T zone right there around the eye area that, you know, it's gone, it's gone. Whether it's. I mean, there's several other good masks out there, but that's just what happens. Just with formulation. That was something I could control. Every time I did it, I had this little Sunday mass day. This is when I was like 23 years old with just a bentonite mask. And it's just to relieve that congestion and get that circulation flowing and to tighten up the skin, pulling out oil, dirt, and minimizing pores. There's so many benefits to masking. And yeah, it's just effective. It just works.
I think we're gonna answer a couple more questions and then wrap it up here. Like they, Somebody's asked how they can drink coffee without getting. What did it say? What did they ask? Something about drinking coffee without getting any negative side effects to come along.
Okay. Caffeine tends to dry the skin once in a while because causes all the breakout.
There's even one more.
Any extensions? Oh, okay. Any suggestions on how to get the benefits of coffee without the effects? I guess you could say so. Are you talking. What's up, Chris? Chris? So are you talking like the caffeine bet? Like when you say effects, are you talking like caffeine effects? Are you talking a little jitteryness? What do you.
Maybe the side effects is what you're saying? Maybe it is like the jitteriness and that kind of situation that you're asking. I, I think that that's one of the big ways bulletproof is so beneficial for me is that the fats slow release the caffeine into your bloodstream and into your brain over a longer period of time. So you don't get the initial spike and you don't get that jitteriness. I've never really felt that when I drink a bulletproof coffee. And that's literally all I've had today and it's already almost noon. And I don't feel at all like brain fogged or anything or that I need nutrients or food. Like it really is supplying me with what I need in a cognitive way. So I think trying, you know, to use the brain octane oil as well as like a grass fed butter or ghee. Try it out, see if a tablespoon of those Each in your coffee can make a difference. Use organic coffee. You can even do, like, if you're really into the cold brew, like, I think this guy was talking about some cold brew. Maybe mix it up as like a cold, cold drink too. All of that can work on your budget. But I wanted to ask Andy. I think, I feel like we should probably. I mean, me and Andy could talk about shit for like, we'll do this.
Then, whatever you want, dude. Hours.
This is literally what we do. We're just in front of an audience this time. But I feel like a big question maybe for everybody out there, especially for you as our young entrepreneurs out there, is what's the one, what do you feel like the one thing is that has defined your success to this point?
Oh, man.
What, like, really did it for you?
Following I knew I had something. I knew I had something that worked. I mean, just being able. And I was extremely excited about it. I had so many people kind of laugh at my dream and tell me, I had a good friend go, with all due respect, what do you know about skincare? Because I don't have a degree in this. I have a passion. I have an obsession to heal. I had an obsession to heal the scarring area and reduce swelling and get that scar tissue flowing and just. But when they say necessities, they. The mother of invention. So that paying attention to. I remember mixing up a mask at home and going, God, man, what am I going to do? I was looking right at what I was going to do with my life. You never know what. Pay attention to the things that excite you. Pay attention to things that keep popping up into your life. I mean, I've been writing up diet plans since I was 19 years old playing baseball. I wish I would have known that back then. That was such an interest to me because I would have majored in nutrition or kinesiology, something rather than communication. I mean, but anyway, I mean, it's just pay attention to the things that interest you. This is our one life. We may as well do something that we enjoy. Gary Clark Jr. My favorite guitar player, self taught guitar. I mean, it's just like sometimes you have a passion for things and that passion leads to just an undeniable work ethic that you're just. You'll never stop because of the adrenaline. And you get that one victory, which is that one person that loves your product. All I wanted was feedback in the beginning. Hey, do you like it? What do you think? Well, that feedback was the beta testing that led into the, you know, the Creation of the aloturic clay mask, which is, you know, I'm just so glad that I didn't listen to the first estheticians that laughed at my product or whatever. They were nice about it, like, kind of. But I just, I just listen to the inner. Listen to your intuition, follow your fire. Pay attention to the things that excite you. Pound the pavement. There's a next level work ethic that you can't explain. And I'm talking days on days on days that, you know, long sleepless nights. And that happens. But that's why you have to love it, because it doesn't feel like, you know, a grind. It doesn't feel. You're so excited and then something's gonna happen. You stay consistent, you have that discipline, you develop that work ethic and you just say, it's going to pop, it's going to happen. At the very least, you're going to go to bed every night knowing that you did everything that you could to achieve that. And that feels good. You're proving yourself right because you're following your dreams and you're listening to your intuitions. You're building this intrinsic motive or the self confidence through that intrinsic motivation that doesn't leave and when it pops that you're going to reflect and you're going to hopefully keep that momentum going and share it with someone else. And now that's what evolution is all about. I mean, I'm just, I was a sponge, I listened to others, I was inspired by others. And then that's just, you know, that's what it's all about to me. And then hopefully, you know, you're in an industry where you can, it's, it's rewarding to just help people feel better about themselves. So that's my why, you know, passion leads to purpose.
Yeah, you got to have that work ethic. I totally agree on all accounts on what Andy's saying. I think through my experience and how I've kind of created success in my life is I've always had this thinking in the back of my head, a quote from Elon Musk's ex wife. And she said something along the lines of don't have your goals be or don't try to become in terms of financially a millionaire or a billionaire. Instead, try to figure out a way, passion wise, use your passion and try to come up with something that's going to help a million people or a billion people. And that's where you can obviously turn yourself. I mean, if you're helping, if you have something that helps a billion people in the world, that's going to create a very strong financial reward for you. So to me, when it comes to the success of that, that's really what I always focus on too, because then not only am I creating abundance for myself eventually, but it's something that I'm contributing to, you know, the world and people. Because I feel like, in a way, you know, that's kind of how the universe works, is it's really just repays a lot of the people that are doing something for the collective conscious unit as well, as opposed to just me, me, me.
Right.
I think like the meeting, the me, me, me thing can work out in certain ways, maybe monetarily, but maybe these people aren't even happy. So I really want. I want the both. I want to help people as well as, you know, help myself. And so that's kind of always been my inspo for that man.
Well said. Well said. And then just one more thing to touch on. I was doing a little research. I love listening to podcasts. You can absorb a lot of great information. I was listening to the Self Made man podcast recently, and Jeff Hoffman, a billionaire, was on, and he said, you know, his big. He was asked towards the end of his podcast, you know, just for his advice. He says, don't. He said, don't. Don't chase money, chase excellence. And I mean, I don't even. That resonated goosebumps right now just thinking about it. It just resonated a lot with me because I just. I just want to create the best product and let. Let the customers talk and we'll see what happens. But I just. It's.
It's.
To me, I truthfully just want to help and make an impact, like you said, because I'm here, I got a second chance at life. Like, I'm lucky to be alive. So I just. Everything else, this is all a bonus. It really is. So I just want to help, and that's it. But in doing that, it's so fun because we have control as physical product. With the cookies, with the desserts you make, with every meal that you make, everything that you do, choose excellence because that's something. We're able to control it as business owners. I'm able to control the products that I make regardless of cost, you know, and with our customer service, it's just everything perfect, what you can perfect or at least shoot for that, I believe. And then people see that, people read that passion. It's undeniable to those who get it. And see that and so that just, you know, you can sleep well at night and doing that. I believe that's just, that's just what I've done. I'm gonna stick with that.
Well, dude, thank you for having me over.
Thanks for coming, dude. Anytime.
Amazing.
