✨ Beautiful skin isn't built by skincare alone.

In a brief interview, Andy Hnilo identifies three major, often overlooked contributors to poor skin health: (1) laundry detergents and other cleaning products that come into contact with skin via bedding, especially pillow detergents; (2) cosmetics that contain dyes, fragrances, and synthetic emulsifiers which can irritate or block the skin; and (3) contaminants in shower water such as heavy metals, fluoride, and chlorine. He expands the discussion to include synthetic fibers like polyester in underwear and socks, and the impact of herbicides and pesticides on non‑organic produce, noting that these factors can deplete nutrient density and further stress the skin. Andy recommends checking product ingredient lists, switching to organic or cleaner‑brand cosmetics, installing a shower filter, wearing 100 % cotton undergarments, and choosing organic fruits and vegetables to protect the skin’s “detoxifying organ.”
