Best Razor For Men | Andy Hnilo's First Shave With The Alitura Razor

A first-person YouTube product demo by Andy Hnilo showing his first shave with the Alitura (Alitura/Alitura-branded) razor. He unboxes the brass-handled razor (also available in chrome), describes a snap-shut box with minimal packaging, shows that the razor ships with a packet of five Gillette blades (estimated one blade/week → ~1 month supply), and demonstrates a pre-shave routine using aloe (fresh gel) and a serum after exfoliation/mask/derma-roller. He emphasizes durability, control from a heavyweight handle, reduced waste from replaceable single blades, and that the razor provides a smooth, non-tugging shave.

Hey, how's it going? Happy Valentine's Day. I am here in my bathroom, but I'm so excited. I just got my new. I just got the new Alitur razor in yesterday and I'm excited to put it to use. Haven't shaved. I got a couple days growth here. So I just wanted to show you and walk you through the steps that I do when I shave. Man, ever since I've been in. I don't know. Well, I would steal my dad's razors. His little, he had the like the little Bic kind of like this. I don't know why I have this on hand. But yeah, this is here. But yeah, that's what I used to do. I used to go in and try to be like my dad, put shaving cream on and things like that and then steal razors and act like I would need to shave, but you know, I didn't. I'd like peach fuzz back in there anyway. I've been very passionate and just interested in a very good shave. There's something about a clean shave and just feeling good and clean cut and just ready to go that I love. So I'm sure many of you out there can relate. But yeah, so this is, this is pretty cool for me. I mean, just months ago I was using a really good razor. But this is better. I'm not just saying that. It really is. So it's, it's fun. So here we go. We, this is our first box too. We, we kind of, we don't do any packaging. It's pretty sleek on other products. Just because I don't like to do, you know, any waste. I don't like to increase any waste on the environment, things like that. Usually it's like the first thing you toss. But I wanted for this razor, I mean, has a nice little, little magnet shut too. So it's just cool. It's cool for me to have a full on package like a, like an unboxing experience, so to speak. But. But yeah. So here it is. We give you the razor and this little. Comes in this right here, this little package and there it is. I like it. It's brass, obviously black branding on this one. But we also have a chrome razor as well that's going to be similar to this like color wise, but it's going to be a little better. So it's nice and durable and heavy weight for control. So it's fun. I'm excited. Haven't even tried this particular one out. We obviously we had prototypes so it's probably pretty similar, but yeah, just thought I'd go through it. And then we give you these little actual blades with the razor. We give you a packet of five. So one would probably last you a week if you're shaving every day. So, you know, we give you about a month here and then you can reorder the blades. I don't know if we're going to be selling the blades on our site or making our own blades or anything like that, but these ones from Gillette are really good. So you just kind of slide it in this head right here and you just pop it on just like that. And then you connect it with the other one and put it over that so it looks kind of like that. And then you just take the. The end, you screw it in. It's the best way to shave, I would say. This is neck and neck with a single edge. Single edge shave, like a straight razor, basically. And then there we go, man. That's what it should look like. There we go. And what I do here is I have a aloe plant out back. So I put just. I cut out a clear inner part of the aloe just with a little knife split that. All you need is a little chunk. These are like $1.99. And I usually just eat the clear, clearer part reg. And then there's still a lot on the sides, right. So I'll just wipe that around. But if you don't have access to aloe at your local grocery store, you can buy the gel or, you know, any other shaving cream will work. But obviously we look at that. I mean, that provides a really good surface to shave on. And then I'll follow with the gold serum. Just because when you're exfoliating, technically with the razor, I just did a mask, right. So and a derma roller application. So my pores are open. So I like to get some of that good copper trap peptide in there and just, you know, rub it in. One application is fine. And there you go. That provides a slick enough surface for the blade just to glide along. I mean, I just broke that blade out of the packet. So it's, you know, obviously razor sharp. Pardon the terrible pun, but there we go. I'm gonna wait for the water to heat up and then I'll run it under this. Make sure the blade's nice and hot. I'm gonna show you. It just wipes it right off. Wipes the follicle right off. So the thing here is there's that little safety guard so that you're not touching your skin with the blades from. I don't want to throw other companies under the bus, but like, other blades that will just touch, you know, directly on your skin or several blades will create a lot of irritation. This only has one, and it has a guard. So the hair is already lifted up from a mask application. The follicle is raised and. Okay. I don't know if you heard that, but, yeah, the follicle is already raised for my mask application. And then. So here we go. This is. Man, this is fun. This is literally the first time I've done this. So it's right here. Just follow the. Look at that. That's it. I mean, obviously I'm gonna, you know, get after it and start to do more, but, man, I mean, it just wipes right off. Just wipes right off. It's pretty fun. It doesn't tug, doesn't pull. I mean, I could do whatever. That's insane. I mean, I'm watching you. I'm not even looking in the mirror. I guess technically it is a mirror, but. Yeah, it may seem like. I don't. I'm not. I'm just kind of rushing through it because I know. I don't want to lose your interest or whatever, but. Yeah, I mean, it's. Look at that. This is the best way to shave. I mean, outside of a barber shop. Women, men, I mean, shaving, legs shaving, you know, any type of your body, this is the best way to go. Just the quality of the blades. The big thing here is just having a nice durable handle, right? Like heavyweight handle for control. You can angle. So you can angle it and kind of, you know, for precision. When you have a flimsy handle, it just doesn't allow for enough control, in my opinion. And here's the thing. It's, you know, this is one brass razor that can last forever. Very durable. And then you just replace it with the blade. You just replace the blades. And so you're creating less waste on the environment and, you know, cost effective wise. I mean, those. You can get 100 blades for, I don't know, 20 bucks. If you're doing a blade a week, do the math on that. That's, you know, you have blades for year, you're gonna be able to shave for however long. However, if you want to switch it, some people switch out a new blade each time. You can even go against the grain. And that's the first swipe. Yeah. So there we go. I'm finished up shaving, but I wanted to kind of get that on tape and show you guys our new little creation. Man, that's awesome. Really proud of this. And who knows, maybe. Maybe we can give Dollar Shave Club some. Some competition. Nah, I'm just kidding. We'll see. But yeah. Hope you guys like it. It should be in the store. We're gonna have two colors here soon. It's going to be chrome like this, but also with a nice Alatura laser engraving, a nice brass durable head, and a cool little box that snaps shut. Cool. All right, guys, well, just thought I'd share with you. Have a good one. Happy Valentine's Day.
