A brief YouTube monologue by Andy Hnilo about creating an Alitura (spelled in-chunk as Alatura) organic coconut-wax candle intended as a present. The speaker, new to candles, asks viewers for opinions on ideal scent strength for a bedroom candle—whether it should be strong enough to be immediately noticeable or more subtle.
All right, so we're making an Alatura candle for presents, organic coconut wax based. But I had your pit or I want your opinion on how strong a candle should be. Should it essentially fumigate the room? Should it fill up the room? Should you notice it's, I mean, should you feel it as soon as you walk into the room or obviously smell it when you walk into the room? I just know when I light incense, I smell, I smell it immediately. Obviously your guests have to love that scent, but, you know, assuming they do, it's great. But with a candle, I just, this is my first. I don't buy candles. I've never used one. But we're making one right now and it's, it's great. But this is just my bedroom. It's. I want to know if it should be strong, if you should smell it, if it should be subtle or what. All opinions are welcome. Thank you.
