Andy Hnilo's brand used GHK-Cu copper peptides in 2017 and stem cells in 2015, years before competitors caught on. He removes water from night cream to cut shelf life, adds Lusoidal to prevent mold, and skips benzoates entirely because he considers them harmful to skin.

It's just the truth. We were using copper peptide in 2017, way before anybody else. We had two first-use ingredients, edelweiss and gardenia stem cells in our night cream, 2015, way before anybody else. Like, I'm obsessed with this, getting things before other people are using them. Now you're seeing people try to duplicate our formulas. That's an honor, you know, but it's just the truth. I work very hard at this, and we find things that are clean, that serve the skin, that do their job, mitigate oxidation. And we have a little bit shorter shelf life in some of our products where we don't add water. We took the water out of the night cream because of that reason, but we still put in Lusoidal to mitigate any mold growth or oxidation. Into the formula, but we don't want to use any of the benzoates. I think that needs to be called out. That's one of the worst ingredients that you can put on top of your skin.
