In this casual vlog, the hosts explore Hazel Bazemore Park in the Cal Allen area of Corpus Christi, Texas. They start at the park entrance, drive to the Nueces River (referred to as the Oasis River), and showcase the river’s dock, picnic tables, and kayak ramp. The group—featuring companions Bailey and Emily—hikes a short trail to a hilltop lookout, encountering javelinas along the way. After the trail, they move to a boardwalk bird‑watching area adjacent to a golf course, where they observe a variety of birds (green jays, cardinals, hummingbirds) and occasional deer. The hosts provide informal bird‑photography advice, including specific camera settings (telephoto lens, f/5.6, 1/1600–1/4000 s shutter, low ISO). The video also includes a brief chat with a visitor from the north and a promotion for a scheduled bird‑photography trip in April, directing viewers to the host’s website. Throughout, the tone remains upbeat, conversational, and enthusiastic about the warm weather and natural surroundings.

Hello! Today we are going to Hazel Bazemore Park. We're gonna go see what we can find at this park in Corpus Christi. It's kind of a hidden treasure out here in a little area called Cal Allen. Here's the park sign as we enter. So we're going to go ahead and drive down to the river, which is the Nueces River that flows right through the edge of this park. We have some trails that we can hike here as well, which we have a little one we're gonna go on today.
Sick.
So right over here is the Oasis River. So okay, so here we are at the river. We got a nice little boat There's a dock right over here, which Bailey's gonna go check out. Out here at the river. You got some picnic tables and it's handicap accessible along with a nice little boat ramp for kayaks. And then we got sneezing Emily over here.
My bad.
So here we are at the trailhead. We're gonna hike up this little short little trail Takes you up to the top of the hill where you got a lookout. And we got Emily who's going to be hiking with us.
Hello!
And we got Bailey. She's ready to go.
We'll keep running, nothing in our way, and we got no reason to wait. Let the journey take you where it wants to. We'll continue to find our way through anything we face. We got what it takes. Here we go!
There's javelinas in there. What's up? Mhm, Bailey, hush. At the top, we survived the javelinas.
Here we go with the sunlight on our skin. It's a brand new day. It's our city.
You enjoying your day, Bailey?
Hey. Yep.
What about Emily? Your half-luna's right next to us.
No, they're There wasn't.
10 feet? They were right next to us. That was literally right there next to us. All right, so that concludes our little trail walk, complete with javelinas, Emily, and Bailey. And we also had a nice conversation with a gentleman from up north who's enjoying our beautiful day in South Texas. All right, stay tuned. Next segment, the bird walk. So here's a little boardwalk to walk out on and watch some birds. Typically there's ducks and all kinds of birds out here. Ducks and herons and egrets, stilt birds, you name it, they're out here. But not today. Today, so far, we've only seen a javelina. Hopefully you can see it on the video. But it's a pretty good-sized pond, nice little wetland area for the birds when they decide to show up. So here we are today. We are having a great time out here at the Hazel Bays Mart. Yeah, taking a day off, a day break to enjoy this nice warm day. I know, surprisingly it is warm considering yesterday was freezing. It's really warm. It's so warm that I'm kind of wishing I would have wore shorts today.
Same.
I mean, we're driving around with the sunroof open, as you can tell. Look at the view! And we got Bailey back here enjoying life to the fullest. Oh, and she's shy. All right, off we go to the bird watching area, one of my favorite spots.
All we have is nothing. Sometimes nothing's all you need. When you're stripped of all your armor, you can finally feel the breeze.
So here we are over at the bird area, right next. Next to the Hazel Bazemore Park, you've got a nice beautiful golf course. If golf is your thing, you might want to try it out here. It looks like a beautiful course. So here's the little bird area that the Boy Scouts and one of our local nurseries have put together, and it's actually a really nice facility in the spring, there is quite a few birds that come through here, and there's also deer. Oh, there's a deer there now!
Oh wow!
Oh darn it, we just missed her. Look at the green jays. There's a green jay there now. With a little ball. With the cardinal. Pretty amazing. We just missed the deer. Darn it. Somebody's beeping their horn very annoyingly-like, kind of ruining my video. There comes the little female cardinal, her turn. There she goes. Time to get clean. This is the pond here that I did my backyard off of. I tried to duplicate it. I think mine turned out better though. But I'm also there every day to maintain it. Oh, here comes Mister. Here comes Mr. Cardinal. So if I were here and I had my camera with me and not my video camera, I would definitely have one of my telephoto lenses, and I would have it set at probably f/5.6 with my shutter speed at, at least 1/1600. And ISO would actually be pretty low right now because the sun is so bright, but we'd definitely be able to bump our shutter speed up to probably 3,000-4,000 right now due to how much sunlight there is out. But it's definitely a busy little pond this afternoon. Here comes Mr. Green Jay again. If you want to see green jays, book my bird photography trip this weekend— sorry, not this weekend, in April. Check out my website for details. Little cardinal right here next to me. Can you see her in the bushes? There's just a hummingbird right there next to her getting some nectar off of the little red flowers. Oh, who's that coming back? A hummingbird? Sure is. Look right there. You see it? It's up underneath all the bushes in the, in the shade getting the nectar. So pretty. Now you can hear all the birds now that that annoying car is gone.
Woo! Sipping on sunshine. If we can't afford a hotel, we can sleep beside the beach. Cheap breakfast in the morning, we got everything we need. We're living in the moment. We were born with gold on the inside, gold on the inside. We're alive, we're sipping on some shots. We want a taste of this world as an offering. We're living in the moment. Unafraid, we were made to wander. We will never let it go to waste. No, we're never gonna let it fade. We wanna taste all this world has to offer.
