Incredible Features of the Sirui VH 10 Video Head!

In this episode of Jeff and Angie Photography, the host reviews the Sirui VH‑10 fluid video head, detailing its construction, specifications, and personal workflow. The video head weighs 2.2 lb, supports up to 13.2 lb, and features a 4.4 lb fixed spring counterbalance, metal knobs, dual bubble levels, and a single plastic tightening nut. The reviewer uses an Arca‑Swiss adapter plate to attach the head securely to the Sirui bracket. After an unboxing and brief walkthrough of controls, the host demonstrates the head in the field at a Corpus Christi, Texas pull‑out, filming herons and seagulls with a Sony A6000 and a Sigma 60‑200 mm lens, highlighting the smooth operation compared to ball heads or gimbals. Mid‑video, a giveaway for a Sirui CT‑3204 tripod is conducted; the winner, Charles H., is announced and instructed on how to claim the prize. The video concludes with purchase information (MSRP $161, availability on Amazon, limited B&H stock), compatibility notes (quick‑release plate similar to Manfrotto 502, not Arca‑Swiss), and a reminder to like, subscribe, and ring the bell.

Hello and welcome to another episode of WTF Stop Photography and Jeff and Angie. So today we are going to review the Sirui VH-10 video head, and we're going to give away the tripod, the CT-3204. I got everybody's name in the hat that subscribed, liked, and And commented, so we'll see where this takes us. Stay tuned. All right, let's get going on this video head. I'm kind of excited because I've been using a Leo Photo video head, and Su Ray reached out to me and sent me this video head, the VH10. The link will be below where you can purchase it to try out and do a little review on it. And I can tell you right now, I really like this Videohead. So don't expect a giveaway on this because I'm keeping this bad boy for myself. So it weighs in at 2 pounds and it has a weight capacity of 13.2 pounds. So that will hold my Sony and my A1. I mean, my Sony A6000 and my A1. That's probably my heaviest setup. And it says it has a counterbalance weight of 4.4 pounds. So let's set this box aside because it's empty. And open up this nice little carrying case that it comes with. It's nice and padded and foamed, or padded with foaming, and it holds the video head, the VH-10, right there. And I've actually Since all of my stuff is Arca Swiss, I actually bought an adapter plate to go onto the top of this so it's permanently adhered to the Sirui bracket, which is easy to do with just a single bolt. It works out really well just because of the fact otherwise I'd constantly be changing My, uh, my bracket on the bottom of my lenses, and that's not going to work. Um, so anyways, um, the head feels good. Um, everything on this thing is metal except for one little piece, and it's this tightening nut right here. Um, you just loosen it up and it extends. Really nice. But that's the only thing that's plastic on it. Well, I guess this here is rubber. That wouldn't be metal. But it's really, really, really well built. Oh, and you also have this little plug here. They paid attention to every detail so that if you want to switch the side Where you put your bracket, you just screw that into the other side. But I like my bracket on that side, so put that back in place so I don't lose it, because I guarantee you I will. And we'll assemble this together and we will Take a look at it and see what y'all think. But I really like this, this head. It's been working out really well for me. So before we get into this though, don't forget that this video is the video where we give away this tripod. One lucky winner. There's like 38 names in this hat. I don't have a grandkid to, to do it, so I'm just gonna shake them up like this and then put my hand in and grab a name out, and we'll go from there. But we'll do that a little later. Okay. So while I've been testing out this video head, I have been using it on the Sirui tripod, and I really, really, really regret Giving this away. So I hope that whoever the lucky winner is really enjoys this tripod because it is, it's a very nice tripod. I am going to definitely miss it. Okay, so let's get into this video head here. So you got a dial here that loosens The bracket, so you can adjust the bracket to wherever you like it. And then you got this nut here with just a simple quarter turn, it unlocks and extends. Oops, wrong way. And it has a nice bubble level on top. It also has a bubble level on the bottom right here. See right there? No problem at all. And on this side here, you've got the locking nut that locks it down tight, which when it's locked down tight, you're not moving it at all. And then what I do with my bigger lenses is I just kind of back it off a little bit, and it works real well because the counterbalance of 4.4 pounds will not work with my 400, my 600, or even my new 60-600 Sigma. Yeah, that's right, I got the 60-600 Sigma for Sony. Let me tell you, I really like that lens in good light. It's a fabulous lens. I'm really, really liking it. But anyways, back to Sirui. So yeah, and then you got, you got all the numbers marked here on the bottom. I'll show you over here. You got all the numbers marked on the bottom. For 360 degrees. For 360 degrees. And another metal knob. So, I mean, it's, it's a very well-built, very sturdy video head. And I really, I've really enjoyed this. So let's go on, let's go take this out in the field, and I'll shoot a couple sample videos, and I'll do a video of me in action using it. And of course, we'll be using this tripod for the very last time. So I guess before we leave the studio, we'll go ahead and do that drawing and see who the lucky winner is. So here we go, shake it up. I don't want to look, I don't want to see whose name I pull out of this. All right, here we go. So I, I put everything in there as their first name and their last initial, and I will make a comment on their posts. And then they'll need to go into my About Me page and send me an email so I can email it— or email— so I can mail your tripod out to you. And, um, The tripod is courteous of Sure as well. They sent it to me to do the review on, and it was very generous of them to send me both the tripod and the video head. So the lucky winner is Charles H. All right, Charles H. If you're watching this, go look at the comments because. You're the winner. All right, well, let's go out and let's go photograph, or I should say let's go videotape some stuff. Probably go do some birds this afternoon. All right, let's go do this. All right, so here we are out at one of the pullouts in Corpus Christi, Texas. We're gonna set up the tripod and I'm gonna do a little videoing and some photographs using the VH-10 video head and the CT-3204 tripod. Alright, so tripod's real easy, or the video head is real easy to use. I have my, my knobs. Got to loosen that. I got the knob over here to lock and unlock, and since I'm using my Sigma 60-200 today. I'm gonna loosen it just enough to where I get a little bit of tension, and then I'm going to zoom out because I want to get that heron that's out there. Alright, so it's a little bright today, so I'm going to use the viewfinder to do my video and my Photography, because otherwise I cannot see my screen. Switch over to video, and we are going to videotape this guy. Hopefully he does something fun for us other than walk around and look like he's eating. Is there anybody else around here? Oh, there's a couple seagulls out here. We can see if we can get any action out of them. He's watching me videotape him. He's Switch back over to photograph and grab a couple shots of this guy. So yeah, this is a very, very smooth video head, which I'm actually kind of liking the video head versus a ball head and a gimbal altogether. Kind of enjoying this video head. This little guy here, he's active. Let's check on our heron out here. Oh, wait a minute, our little guy's out in the water now. Oh yeah, that's good stuff right there. Oh, our heron's on the move. See what he's gonna do. All right, well, while these guys figure out what they're gonna do. All right, so let's go over the specs just real quickly here one last time while we wait for these birds to do something. On the Sirui VH-10 fluid video head, manufacturer's suggested retail is $161. You can catch it on sale sometimes at Amazon. B&H does not carry this particular head. They carry one above it and one below it, but they do not carry this particular head. This one will support 13.2 pounds. I think, I think that setup that's sitting on there right now is right at 8 pounds. It only weighs 2.2 pounds. It comes with the quick-release plate, but keep in mind that it is not Arca-Swiss. It's similar to the Manfrotto— I think it's the 502 plates. I will put below in the description what plate it's compatible to. And the fixed spring counterbalance is only at like 4.4 pounds. Thank you so much. Thank you for watching another episode of Jeff and Angie Photography WTF Stop. I apologize if some of the video footage is kind of jumpy. I do live in South Texas and it is extremely windy out here. I don't know if you can hear it through the mic, but it's pretty windy. So I just want to say once again, congratulations to Charles H. I will tag you in a post and make sure you get the message that you won the tripod. So go to the About Me, go to my email, shoot me an email with your mailing address so I can get it shipped out to you. All right, well, thanks for watching and have a great day. Hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and ring my bell. Talk to you later.
