In this introductory video for the "WTF Stop Photography" YouTube channel, the creator shares her personal photography story. She began in high school with black‑and‑white film using a Rolleicord camera, inspired by her father’s own hobby. After college she bought a digital camera but photography took a back seat while she focused on family, mountain biking, road biking, and marathon running. A skin‑cancer diagnosis and subsequent facial reconstruction surgery became a turning point; once cleared to lift only a gallon of milk, she dove back into photography with renewed vigor, crediting the change for greatly enriching her and her husband’s lives. The couple love to travel, having spent roughly 22 weeks on the road in the past year, and now plan to explore local bird and shoreline photography using a newly purchased kayak on Corpus Christi Bay. She explains that her primary editing software is Luminar, supplemented occasionally by Lightroom and Photoshop, and invites viewers to learn Luminar techniques through her channel.

Hi and welcome to my channel, WTF Stop Photography. So today in this little intro video, I'm going to tell you a little bit about myself and how I got started. I got started in photography back in high school. I started in black and white photography with a Rolleicord camera. The class in high school was taking pictures and how to develop them in the lab, which I found quite interesting and I really enjoyed it. My dad was the one who kind of inspired me to do that because he was already doing that before I was in high school. And from there it just kind of grew, and then I ended up having a family or having a kid, and then after he graduated I bought a camera. A digital camera, and I decided to start doing a little photography here and there. And I was doing that, and I also was also into a lot of mountain biking and road biking, running marathons, just a lot of outdoor stuff, and photography kind of took a back burner. Then I was diagnosed with skin cancer. And after I had the facial reconstruction surgery and I was cleared to lift a gallon of milk and nothing else, I decided to pick my camera back up and I dove in headfirst and I haven't looked back since. And I'm really glad because it's really, um, Made my life and my husband's life incredible. We have met some amazing photographers in our travels. We love to travel. Given the opportunity, we're gone. And we just never know where our next adventure's gonna take us. This last year in 2000— I think we calculated 22 weeks. That was a lot. And I can tell you right now is I'm happy to be home after all that. Now I've got a lot of pictures to edit and a lot of videos to do for YouTube. So, and recently I just bought myself a new kayak where I'm gonna be taking the kayak out and I'm gonna take you with me and we're gonna go photograph some birds and whatever else I can find along the shorelines of Corpus Christi Bay and all the, all the other bays around in this area because we have a lot of water and we have a lot of birds. So anyhow, that's a little bit about me and my channel. I do a lot of Luminar edits on my channel. That's mainly what I use for photography editing is Luminar. I do use Lightroom on occasion and Photoshop, but Luminar is my go-to. So hang around and learn how to use it. I'll talk to you later. Bye. Bye.
