This is how to start TikTok Shop as a beginner in 2026. So the first thing, obviously elephant in the room, if you don't know what TikTok Shop is, essentially it's a way for creators on the TikTok platform to link products to videos and earn commission for every sale that they get from their video. So for example, if I was selling this scrunchie, I would make a TikTok with it, link the scrunchie to my video, and anytime someone buys from that video, I earn commission. It really is that simple. And if you're wondering if TikTok Shop is getting too saturated or if it's late to start. It's actually predicted to be the top global retailer in the next coming years, and there are tons of massive brands flocking to TikTok Shop. And honestly, if you're watching this in the summertime or fall, it's the perfect time to start because Q4 is when TikTok Shop absolutely explodes and sales are always uptrending, and more and more creators are reaching the $10K, $20K, even $30K+ month threshold because of how many products there are to sell now. And by the way, if you don't know what Q4 means, essentially that's the last quarter of the year where all these brands run crazy deals for Black Friday and Christmas, and everyone and their mom is buying stuff on TikTok, especially because people are just in a shopping mood. So actually, if you start now and learn the skill of TikTok Shop, it's going to absolutely pay off this Q4 when all the sales are ripping. To start TikTok Shop, obviously you need the TikTok app and you actually need an account with at least 1,000 followers to be able to apply. To the TikTok Shop Creator Program. And a lot of speculation is like, well, why did it used to be 5,000 followers and now it's 1,000 followers? So I'm going to clarify. As of what, June 2026, when I'm recording this, the rule of thumb is if you have 1,000 followers, you are allowed to be in the pilot program, which allows you to post 3 shoppable videos per day, which honestly, in my opinion, is more than enough to get started. And if you're compliant and you're consistent posting high quality like I said, compliant content, usually even before you reach 5,000 followers, TikTok will just naturally grant you full posting authority, meaning you can post as much as you want. But otherwise it will take until 5,000 followers to be able to have the full posting authority. But if you're worried about that, don't be because 3 posts is more than enough to start. And honestly, you probably will get accepted sooner than 5,000 followers. If you don't have an account with 1,000 followers and you're like, how the heck do I grow that? There's actually 2 options that I see in the TikTok Shop space that I would recommend. Number one is to grow an account yourself, which is actually really easy to hit 1,000 followers. There's plenty of girls that are doing follow for follow videos. People will do moms supporting moms, whatever you have that is your unique advantage. You could post content about it and encourage people to follow for follow. I've seen so many people get 1,000 followers overnight like that. Trends like this, for example, you could also do music trends, post memes, post vlogs, whatever it takes to get your follower to 1,000. And that's one way to grow your account organically. The other option, if that feels daunting to you or you just don't want to spend time growing your account, which I totally understand because I choose this option, is to buy an account. A lot of people don't even know that you can buy a perfectly good organically grown TikTok account that someone else doesn't need anymore. So you can go in there and start posting as a TikTok Shop affiliate. Usually these accounts, if you want a very good one from a good source, range from about $300 to $400 to $700 to $800 depending on the follower amount that you get and also the guarantee that comes with it. Some of these account suppliers will give you guarantees like if you get locked out or your account gets banned, they'll give you a free one. Other ones, be wary of because they do scam and they're fake accounts. So make sure you do your research and buy from a good account source. So once you have an account ready to post TikTok Shop videos on, obviously you need products to post with, and this is really important. So let me show you how I choose a product To post on TikTok Shop. Come on, my office. Yay! This is the TikTok Shop lair, and I'm going to show you guys how I choose products that go viral and are highly converting with good commission. And we'll get into all the reasons of why I choose products that I choose. Let's go. Okay. So when I go to choose a product that I'm going to post for, there's quite a few things that I look for. So I'm going to show you guys. I use Calodata, which is basically the TikTok Shop analytics. Software that is pretty common. There's actually a lot of different softwares for this. I just prefer Kaldata, but you can use whichever one. So here we are in Kaldata. I would like to go obviously to the product tab, and you can filter between any variable that you would like. So I like to have last 30 days on. That's a pretty relatively recent time frame to have selected. I'm gonna go beauty and personal care because currently that is the niche that I'm in. I I've been in health, I've done home, I've done supplements, um, pretty much every niche you can imagine I've tried. But right now I like to focus on beauty and personal care. So apply that. I also like to see recent launch dates. So launch within like, uh, let's say like 180 days and just kind of see what's, what's trending. Um, so now here, Kalibat is giving me the top 10 right now. Right off the bat, I'm seeing Medicube all over. And as an affiliate that has been in the space for a while, I just know that Medicube is the top beauty brand right now, especially in Korean skincare, and it sells really well. So that alone, I'm like, I'm leaning towards that brand. This one was just dominating for the last few months. I mean, $5 mil revenue is crazy, but it is on the downtrend. So I would say it's a little bit saturated at this point. You could still hop on it. I wouldn't, in my opinion. This one's a pretty good pick. It's a big bundle, but one that I really like just because it is pretty recent and it's one SKU, so it's easier to film with in my opinion than a whole bundle, is this vanilla deodorant because it's on the up, um, meaning it's— the revenue is growing and the commission's really good. 15% off of $48.69, that's like $7, $7 to $8. So you could make really good money if you have a viral video with this. You can scroll down on CalData, which I think is really cool, and see what videos are working. And this is important too because I kind of like to what's working to get inspo and know if it's a product I really want to pursue filming with. Um, so let's see.

So let me show you a little bit of my scripting process. I like to use chat for it, so obviously ChatGPT is where we're gonna go. Okay, so now that I'm in ChatGPT, what I'm gonna say is write me a Viral, highly converting, fast-paced script for a TikTok shop video that is ideally about 45 seconds to 1 minute long. This is for the oops for the Medicube deodorant, the new one vanilla and pistachio. Pistachio. These are the benefits to highlight, and I want to use a CTA at the end for a current flash sale or lowered price because they just launched it and it comes with— is it a free little one? I'm going to check if it's a free little one. So I go back to Calendly. Go to the product tab, and then I'm actually going to search it up. Um, Medicube deodorant. There it is. Okay, yeah, so right here, the reason I did that is I wanted to verify this is free. They get like a little freebie one that comes with it. So I'm gonna tell chat it comes with a little free mini deodorant as well. Um, so that's a cool little thing to add in. And okay, then I'm gonna go back to the benefits and just copy the key pointers that it gave me. Paste that. Scroll down. Okay. Don't need any of that stuff. Um, okay. One thing I would highly recommend you getting is a ring light that can clip onto either your computer or your phone. This one is from Amazon and it was literally $12, and it helps illuminate my face so much and just makes the quality of my video so much better, especially with beauty makeup centered products. I feel like it's just a free layup, so invest in good lighting. Um, and invest, I mean $10, $12. So I clip this onto my computer right here, and then obviously I have my phone open with the TikTok ready to film. I'm going to be doing selfie facing camera mode right here, and this is honestly unintentional, but I'm wearing butter yellow, and I actually like to wear certain colored clothing items that correlate to the product. So I feel like this is a fun little extra win that we can implement. So I would, I would suggest you wear like a bright, fun color that goes with the product. So now that I have this script from ChatGPT that I'm going to follow pretty closely, um, I'm just going to go ahead and start filming. And so I'm going to screen record my filming process for you guys on my iPhone so you can see it here too. But you want to make sure you're in like the top 1/3 of your video frame, meaning your head is like up here where the eye level naturally falls, not like this, not off to the side, like just straight on like normal. And then pull this over. Okay, turn my ring light on. That helps brighten a ton. I'm going to plug it in because it will make it even brighter if it has a good charge on it. So now you can see me here with the camera, and I want my product right away for this intro. And so you start filming. Now, so even there in the beginning, I like to zoom in a little bit. And then delete all that to right when I'm grabbing the cap.

Um, but sometimes the brand itself will have like branded photos, so let's go to their Amazon and see if they have that. So I can just look through their product photos. Oh, here we go. This is perfect. So I know this is usable because it's literally a branded photo. So I'm gonna screenshot it, crop my little screenshot, and then I'm gonna go to the part where I was referencing the before knockers, which I know I was doing it when I started pointing to people here.
