In this introductory video, Anne Ravanona, founder and CEO of Global InvestHer, explains the creation of the "Own the Moment" program, developed with gender‑awareness specialist John Fayad, to help female founders improve their investor pitches—especially when the audience is predominantly male. Drawing on interviews with over 250 women entrepreneurs and her experience as a gender‑diversity consultant, Anne outlines the gender‑based challenges and unconscious biases that affect pitch dynamics. She describes the program’s target audience (early‑stage female founders, founders who have already raised capital, and accelerator programs supporting women) and provides a curriculum preview: the current funding landscape for women, the nature of male investor biases, the neuroscience behind gender differences, how a 10‑minute pitch differs for men and women, and actionable tips for the pre‑pitch, pitch, and post‑pitch phases. The video ends by promising a follow‑up session with John Fayad on brain‑science insights.

Hi, I'm Anne Ravanona, founder and CEO of Global InvestHer. In this video, you'll learn why I created this Own the Moment program together with gender awareness specialist John Fayyad, who's it for, and what you'll learn. I set up Global InvestHer to help more women entrepreneurs get funded, and a key part of that funding process is nailing the pitch. And guess what? As a female founder, you will more than likely be pitching mainly to male investors. So that's why it's super important to know about the gender differences and how they actually come into play in the pitch situation. A key element of looking for funding is nailing that pitch when you're pitching to investors. And when you're a woman entrepreneur, you'll most likely be pitching to a lot of male investors. So when I interviewed over 250 women entrepreneurs about their funding journey and their pitch experience, they told me a lot of horror stories about how intimidating it was when they were pitching to those male investors. When I was working as a gender diversity consultant for big multinationals, I had the opportunity to work with John Fayad, who's a gender awareness specialist, and I learned more about the brain science and where these gender differences come from. And it got me thinking. I said, hey, what if we married together the pitch information we need to know with the gender differences and brain science, brought them together to help give you that extra advantage when you're pitching to those male investors. So that's what we did. Who's this program for? Well, it's for female founders who've just started. You've set up your business, you're starting to go pitching, and you wanna understand some extra key tips to give you an edge. Or you've already raised some money and you wanna get to the next level. To raise even more money to fuel your business, or you may be an accelerator program supporting female founders to help them get the funding. If so, this program is perfect for you. So what will you learn? You'll learn about the world of funding today and what's it like for female founders out there. You'll learn more about the biases in the heads of those male investors and those unconscious biases that we have ourselves as female founders. Then we go deeper with John Fayad to understand where those gender differences come from, where that unconscious bias comes from, so that you're better prepared for it. After that, we look at the 10-minute pitch and how it's different for men and women. Finally, we put it all together to give you lots of practical key tips on what you need to do before, during, and after your pitch. Better armed with all this Super knowledge. I hope you enjoyed this video. In the next video, you'll learn more from John about some of those key gender differences and brain science and give you some extra insights into how we're different and how it affects us in the pitch. See you there.
