Watch the InvestHer Academy Launch Party!

In this live launch event, Anne Ravanona, founder and CEO of Global InvestHer, introduces the InvestHer Academy – an online learning platform designed to help women entrepreneurs secure funding faster. She explains the platform’s mission to tap the untapped potential of female founders, the need for on‑the‑go, bite‑sized learning, and the structure of the offering: comprehensive courses (e.g., the neuroscience‑based "Own the Moment" pitching course), specialized courses on crowdfunding and grants, and short masterclasses featuring funded women founders and active investors. The presentation highlights key partners (John Fayad, Benita Matowska, Paulina Sigulska‑Tenner, Nicole Glarus, Sam Jerusalmi), course formats, duration, access length, pricing options, and a 20 % launch discount. Ravanona also showcases a suite of free resources – a Facebook community, curated investor databases, reading lists, funding calendars, and interview videos – and announces an upcoming membership called the "Roadmap to Funding" that will provide ongoing masterclasses and new courses. Throughout, she engages the live audience, gathers feedback, and reinforces the goal of closing the gender funding gap by equipping women with practical, actionable knowledge.

Hello everybody, welcome, welcome, welcome. I am so happy to see you all. This is Anne Ravanona coming to you live from Global InvestHer on a very big day for us. Welcome to the launch of InvestHer Academy. Welcome to the launch party.
It's great to have you with us.
So I'd love you to kind of say hi in the chat box, say hi in the comments.
I want to know who's with me. It's lovely to see.
So, you know, tell me who's here, where you're watching in from. And that's, that's really nice because I can see Idella's here, Marija, Sana. Welcome. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the time has finally come. After many, many years, we are now live with the InvestHer Academy. Now, why did we at Global InvestHer create this, and who am I? So I am Anne Ravanona. I'm the founder and CEO of Global InvestHer, and we are the global platform that's here to help women entrepreneurs get funded faster. How are we going to do that? We're going to do that by helping get you the best resources, the highest quality resources that there are possible. That is, get you the information that you need from the people who know, namely investors, funded women, and other experts who are here to be able to give you their wisdom, um, to make sure that you get all the real practical key tips to get funded. And I'm loving this. Hi from Geneva, says, um, says Marija. Denise from Cary, very nice to have you with us. Hi, Christelle.
Oh, it's so lovely to see so many here with us live.
So what is this launch party all about? Well, I'm— first of all, I'm glad to have you all with me. This is a party to celebrate. Because women entrepreneurs are the biggest untapped resource when it comes to reigniting the global economy. I truly believe that.
And what we're doing here at Global Investor is to serve you.
Um, ah, okay, just one second. I think that there's something going on. Uh, I am having an issue. Sorry about that. My colleague is telling me the video is blocked. Um, Can everybody see me live in Facebook or on the webinar? If you can, just kind of type in so I can see. I see you, says Denise. Okay, so I think it might be an issue in the Facebook page, and I don't know why it's not coming through there. Sorry about that. This is the fun that comes around. I can see it on my Facebook page here. Okay, it's okay. Perfect now, she says.
Super duper.
Great. So why did we set up— why did we set up this Investor Academy? Well, look, I'm a woman entrepreneur just like you. I am super busy traveling the world, going out there to help serve my clients, which happen to be women entrepreneurs and big corporates who support them.
And we're busy.
We're busy. We're on the go.
We're traveling all around the place.
And so we need to be able to have access to training, to, to learn on the go, don't we? If you agree with me, say aye, and I want to see you in the chat box. You know, so we need to be able to access our information on the go, and that's why I decided to create this information into an online platform in the form of courses, in the form of masterclasses, so that you get the key nuggets of wisdom in bite-sized chunks that you can Absorb while you're on the go. Now, it's super, super hard to learn about funding. Hands up anybody here who's had a fun time learning about funding and getting funded. I'd love to hear your comments.
You know, it's, it's really, really hard. And so it's hard for everybody. And the hard truth is, it is actually harder for women entrepreneurs. So I decided I wanted to change that. Yes, me, Anne Ravanona, coming to you from Paris. I have an 18-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son, and the hard truth is that today, both of them, if they went looking for funding today, my son would be 70% more likely to get funded just because of his gender. And so I want to help change that. Now, there are many ways that we can do that, and I believe the best way to do it, from talking to hundreds of women entrepreneurs like you around the world, is to make sure that you can access this information when you're on the go. So I'm very excited to be able to, to share what's coming your way. So if you've clicked on globalinvesther.com, you'll have seen that in our header things have changed, and you'll see that now you have access to the Academy. So without further ado, I want to share my screen with you so that you can see inside. Do you want to come with me? Okay, let's go behind the scenes. Let's go behind the scenes into the Academy. So I wanted to make sure— we at the team here, we wanted to make sure that you had access to the information on the go. So our goal here at the Global Investor Academy is to get you ready for funding. And so we want to help you to learn how to play the funding game. What is this funding game? What is the language? What are the rules?
Who are the players?
So the investors, the different sources of funding, and how do you need to play the game in order to get funded, which is a tough— is a tough thing. We are featured across different media, and really, I told you why I want us to be able to do this, because I really, really do believe that we are the biggest untapped resource, and the sooner we can get more of that $300 billion that's going more towards male-led startups towards female-led startups, the more we can unleash the talent to find, unearth the, the deep problems that we have across the world and get the money towards it. Do you agree with me? I think so. So that's why I want to see— show me the love. So what do we have here? We have different things, different resources for you. We are launching today with some online courses, some masterclasses, And some free resources. So first of all, what's going to be the difference between an online course and the masterclass? So the courses are going to be a meatier, a meatier group of lessons where you'll have several modules, several times of lessons inside, and you'll have probably some more homework, a little bit of quizzes. The good news is though, the longest The longest course time to complete is around 5 hours maximum. And when you buy these courses and masterclasses, the great news is you get access to them for a full year. So you don't need to worry about, oh my God, I'm going to run out of time. I can't do it within the next few minutes. So it's super important for you to know that it's You will have access to this information for a full year when you get in. So we have courses, we have masterclasses. The masterclasses will be shorter versions of courses where we're going to focus on 3 different types of masterclasses. You will hear from funded women, meaning women entrepreneurs who've got the t-shirt, who have got the funding before you, who've been through that— those steps, who've gotten the funding from male investors, from female investors, and who have successfully built their businesses. And so you want to learn from them. What we do is so unique because all the information you get on the Investor Academy is tailored to female founders. Now, that's not to say that male founders cannot learn from it. I think, in fact, it'd be really useful for men and male founders to follow our courses and to do them as well so that they can better understand some of the challenges that women entrepreneurs go through, don't you think? So in the Funded Women Masterclasses, you will find out how they actually went through their funding journey, what were their challenges, how they overcame them. And all of our courses and masterclasses are full of practical, actionable tips that you can actually use. They're not super theoretical, and that's very, very important. Okay, so you— the other type of masterclass then is from investors. So when I interviewed hundreds of women entrepreneurs a while back and I asked you what would help you, what would be most useful to you when it comes to learning about funding, getting ready for funding for your business, and the vast majority of you said, I want to learn from investors what it is they want. I want to know how they think, what's going on in their mind, and what it is they look for before investing. And so that's one of the key things that we have been able to do here at Global InvestHer. On the Investor Academy is to partner, and I mean partner, to work with different investors who have given their time and their knowledge because they want to support you. And that's very, very important because all the proceeds that go from, um, from the profits from these courses goes fed back straight back into Global Investor to bring more and more and to serve more women across the world. So the Investor Masterclasses are chock-a-block full of key tips. First of all, you learn from each investor what it is that they, um, you know, who they are, what type of investor they are, what stage they invest in, and so on. And then you'll also learn, you know, what they look for and their practical key tips, dos and don'ts, back to you. And then the other final part, um, that's available already now are funding resources. Because hey, we've been, um, working in this, in this field for 6 years from the very beginning. Actually, we're one of the catalysts in this funding ecosystem with so many wonderful partners to change things. And so I wanted to make sure that you had access to a lot of free resources as well. So we want to be here for everybody. And I do believe you need to invest in yourself first. That's why I say, you know, get the training you need in order to be able to move forward. So we've had a look at some of the courses. I'm going to go inside in a minute. And then the masterclasses, you'll have some different things in the masterclasses.
Each—
on each of these courses, you will find out what other people think, and you can come back and see. These are real people who have already used the courses, and you'll hear from them, and you can see about each course instructor and their bias. So shall we go in? Who's excited and wants to go in? Say, hey, yes, show me! I want to see more! Show me! I want to see those messages coming through into the, into the chat box and into the comments. All right, so— oops, that's not what I wanted to show. I wanted to go in. Let's go in. So when we go into the courses, here's what you're going to see. We want to help demystify funding and show you behind the scenes what's really going on. Okay, so we want to make sure that you learn what you need to get funded faster and back to your business. So there are different types of courses available, and the first one, and our signature course I absolutely want to talk to you about and share with you is on pitching. Now, hands up here, tell me in the chat box how many of you have found it challenging when you're pitching to male investors to be taken seriously. I can see lots of hands going up, but I can see things are— everybody's going, yep, that's me, that's me. Okay, so I can see that there, there Comments going up and hands going up. Yay, yay! Yes, so it's hard, and we want to make sure that we give you an edge. So what I did was I partnered with a gender awareness specialist called John Fayad, and he and I worked together to bring you Own the Moment. Own the moment. Instead of dreading pitching, we want you to own the moment when you pitch. Would it be amazing if you could decode how men think? and capture the attention of those male investors?
Wouldn't it?
Well, yes, you can. You can do it because John and I have come together to bring the knowledge, the tools around neuroscience, around gender differences, where they come from, in order to help you to navigate that. Doesn't that sound like a cool, a cool deal? All right, let's show you more. So the great and exciting thing is that you're going to learn Exactly how to decode men's behaviours, because a lot of the things that happen when it comes to women pitching to male investors and male investors receiving the pitch, there can be a lot of misunderstanding, and most of it is down to unconscious bias. And the key thing is a lot of that unconscious bias and perceptions come through things that are, you know, nature, not just nurture. So there is a mix. And John and I are going to explain to you on this course and give you lots of really practical tips as to where those gender differences come from. So this type of course— so the Own the Moment course is really for anybody who has either set up a business, you want to learn about pitching, you've been through on the pitch roll, you've been pitching to those male investors, and you haven't been getting the results that you wanted. And maybe you're a mentor or an advisor Or you are an accelerator and you support female founders and you want to make sure that the women entrepreneurs get access to this. So what are the key things that you're going to learn on the On the Moment course? Well, John and I, we're going to take you through— we take you through from the big picture right down to the detail. So the big picture meaning what is the world of funding today and what are the specificities when it comes to women entrepreneurs who are pitching in there? And know, what is the fact when it comes to the funding gap and the key statistics you need to know, and the biases and the blind spots that male investors have and that female founders have. What's really unique about this course that you will not get anywhere else— I'm sorry for my hands going crazy, I'm just so excited to share this with you— what's really, really unique is that John and I blend neuroscience to bring to you the latest knowledge as to what we know in the gender differences that it comes down in the physiological and chemical differences between men and women's brains, and how that impacts how we make decisions, how we process information, and therefore how it impacts the pitch. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could have a secret weapon to understand a little bit more as to how the male mind works in order to be able to give male investors the information they need in a format that they'll be able to receive it? Well, that's what we're going to do. So on the course, you'll learn what are those key biases and blind spots male investors have and where they come from, and what are the biases and blind spots that female entrepreneurs have and where they come from. And what makes this truly unique is that John will take you behind the scenes and literally inside, inside the heads of men so that you can understand What are those key tendencies and differences that are coming in, in the brain physiology and in the chemistry that are impacting our pitch? Now, he's not going to take you on a detailed biology class. That's not the point. The point is to be able to give you insights that you won't get anywhere else, that'll be super useful to you in your life with all the men in your life, actually. And we go behind the scenes to explain how we have a different memory, you know, way of storing information, how we have different ways of processing information, how our minds think differently, and therefore how we need to shape how we speak to male investors in order to have a better result. Now, what's super important is, again, this is not a theoretical course that John and I have made to develop to help you. It is absolutely practical. So we take you on the journey from, here's the world of funding today, here is where these biases— what they are on both sides, men and women— where they come from, where do the key gender differences come from as well, and therefore how do they impact the pitch. And then so we explain to you how these gender tendencies and differences impact the pitch before During and after the pitch and give you lots of practical tips that you can use so that you can adapt the content of your pitch, you can adapt the, the style, the pitch style. And what's super important for both John and I is we're not saying to women that you've got to change. We're not saying you have to turn into men. We're not saying that. What we are doing is giving you the tools, the insights, the keys to be able to decode those differences in order to get through to them in a different way. And what's very exciting is that we'll be starting with Own the Moment, so helping women entrepreneurs own that moment instead of dreading the pitch, and then we'll be moving on over the next couple of months to bring out a version for those male investors so they can decode women entrepreneurs pitching to them. Who thinks that's a good idea? Yes, because we need to help both sides of the spectrum, don't we? Exactly. So it's absolutely wonderful. Now, what's included when you come into a course, into an online course? First of all, as I said, it's super important to realize that everything you get are exclusive insights that you get from the experts who are here to serve you and who are here specifically to support female founders. And so all the information we give to you is with that gender lens. It's with that lens of this is how it's going to be impactful for you, a female founder. Okay, so that's super interesting. And the other key thing is, of course, as I said to you earlier on, we make it flexible and make sure that you can watch these courses on the go. You can watch it with your phone. You can watch it with your iPad, you can watch it on your computer when you're in an airport traveling and so on. And each of the courses is broken down also into actionable worksheets. So not only we break it down into different sections where you will have worksheets to take notes, you get short impactful videos. The maximum video length is 30 minutes maximum because you want to be able to have bite-sized knowledge that is actionable and that you can use. And then with each of the courses, we want to make sure that you can go deeper because some of us, we like to go even deeper and to read or to watch more videos. So we will give you a lot of extra resources. So for example, in the Own the Moment course, you will get recommended reading if you want to go deeper into the brain science and understand the gender differences in a more deeper way. John has, has selected a fantastic reading list of books to help you. Plus, we all have different learning styles, so we have a list of great videos that we've— we have curated for you on YouTube for that. So with the Own the Moment course, you also get access to a free closed Facebook community where you have access to John and I to ask us questions afterwards. So as part of the course, you get some free bonuses. So we will have a great printable that actually gives you a checklist of questions that you can print out and give to people to give you feedback on your pitch. Wouldn't that be helpful? But the feedback is not just on the content, it's on your style, your tone, how you're coming across. And that's where we want to make sure that, you know, you get all the key information across and get feedback from the people that you ask. The other thing as well is we want to make sure that you've loaded tips and what are the key slides you need in your deck. So for each of the courses, what you can see is you break it down into the different modules. So for Own the Moment, this is what we will show you in each course. We show you a welcome video, what you're going to learn, and in this case you have some access to them for free so you can see some parts. So if you click on the free preview, we've— oh, I've already enrolled, so I'll show that to you after. Sorry. So When you, when you click on these different sections, you can go in, watch the videos, and see what's in each section. So for example, in Own the Moment, we have 6 different lessons, 6 different modules. So you can see they have— it's broken down into 3 different parts: watch, take action, go further, as I mentioned earlier. So you can watch videos, you can take action. In Own the Moment, there is a worksheet for each of the modules. It's only a couple pages long, and there's loads of room to take notes. So then also understanding the biases and the blind spots. So where do they come from? And, you know, what can you do? Learn more about this unconscious bias. Then we go deep into the neuroscience, which is really my absolute favorite part because it's so fascinating. I remember when I first listened to John sharing this, I was like so excited. I said, I want to help bring this knowledge to the women entrepreneurs around the world because it can really make a difference to the pitches and the outcomes that we get. So then we go into— John will go into, you know, why does the 10-minute pitch work better for men than women? Because it does. You'll understand why as you go through the course. And then also where those gender differences show up and how men and women— how male and female entrepreneurs actually approach the pitch, because we both approach it differently. And we wrap it all up with lots of practical key tips. Again, watch, take action, go further. How does that sound? Put some comments into the, into the chat box. Adele is saying, excellent, Anne, this is so valuable. I work with startups in Ireland and this will be so helpful. Thank you. Thank you, Adele. What else do you see? Denise says she can see me. Sana is based in Frankfurt and she's excited for the launch. How are people feeling about it so far? I want to hear from you. Type it in the chat box in the comments. So that's more about, um, Own the Moment. So what we've done is the Own the Moment course is available now straight away, so you can buy it for a €497 investment now, and you can also, um, break it down into 6 easy payments because, hey, I'm a woman entrepreneur, I know what cash flow is like, so we have made that facility available. So what do you think?
Yay!
That's Own the Moment. So that's one of our courses. So Mr. Rava is saying that this is exciting. Thank you. I think it is very exciting and I'm excited about it. Let's look into some of the other courses that we have. So that we took you behind the scenes of the Own the Moment course, which is really our signature. Now the other 2 courses that are available to you today are on crowdfunding and on how to get grants. Now again, crowdfunding is such an important tactical tool for women entrepreneurs, and it's one that we're really, really good at. So what we've done is partnered with Benita Matowska, who happens to be a global leader in the sharing economy, to teach you everything you need to know about crowdfunding before you do your very first campaign. Or if you've done a campaign before and it maybe didn't go as well as you thought, then maybe you can understand and learn from her, because guess what? You're going to get lots of behind-the-scenes tactics, strategies, and practical tips and actionable tools in order to help you to create a very successful crowdfunding campaign. Now, why have we partnered with Benita? Benita happens to have done 5 crowdfunding campaigns, different types— equity and Which means for shares, donation-based where you give a donation. So she's just crowdsourced an absolutely brilliant book that I was one of the donors on, and also rewards-based. So imagine if you didn't have to figure out the dos and don'ts and everything you need to do when it comes to crowdfunding. Wouldn't it be useful to have a course that will walk you through everything you need to do before, during, and after? and break it down into very easy steps. Well, that's what we do with Benita. So she's done 5 different crowdfunding campaigns, 4 of which were very successful, 1 that didn't work. And what's really useful is she shares why. And we break it down again. This crowdfunding course is for students, for people who are already entrepreneurs who are thinking about running a campaign. Maybe you've already done one. Maybe you're a nonprofit and you want to raise some awareness. Or anybody who's curious just to learn what goes on behind the scenes. And how this course is going to help you is it's going to help you to learn how to attract the backers for your crowdfunding campaign. And you're going to get actionable tips because guess what? In crowdfunding, you have to bring the crowd. And what I love about Benita is she, she helps to teach how you need to bring the crowd, how you need to prepare for it. How long it takes to prepare for a crowdfunding campaign and the resources you need and the strategies for communications before, during, and after, how to engage your crowd. And, you know, lots of key tips like you've got to have raised, let's say, at least 50 to 60%, let's say 30 to 50% of your crowd. You've got to have them all ready before it even goes live. I bet you didn't know that. So this is really, really exciting stuff. And what some of the people have said who've been on this course— Angela said that it was absolutely stellar, the tips were practical, pitched at the right level, and useful. And that's what we want. We want to make sure that these are really, really good. Patricia rated it 9 out of 10, and she said that it was really, really worth it. And, you know, you will see from other people, and we teach you again what's included. We want to teach you, walk you through, so you go from knowing nothing about crowdfunding So I want to be the crowdfunding expert. Maybe it's more to say, okay, I'm confident that I can actually go about a crowdfunding campaign. I now know all the work that's involved and the key steps, and therefore I can plan for it. And it's not something I just say, hey, I wake up and say, I'm going to do a crowdfunding campaign today, thank you very much, and I'll do it in 2 weeks. It's gonna take longer, and it depends if you're equity crowdfunding reward-based or donation. It takes a lot of work and it's very much worth it. So here we have again, as in the format with the other courses, you get actionable insights. Again, Benita shares her key tips with a female founder angle. The courses are available, like I said, anywhere, anytime. You get your worksheet and recommended resources. And, and so it's again, it's all about making sure that you get equipped with the tools you need in order to help you move faster. Because why are we doing this Academy? We want to make sure that you get funded faster, because looking for funding for your business is one step on that journey. And if you're going to build a growth business, you're going to have to be going through it over and over again. So we want to make sure that we kind of, instead of reinventing the wheel, get you through it faster. So there's some cool bonuses here, as you can see. Lots of crowdfunding tips, essential guide from Indiegogo, and so on. And each of the courses, we've actually created a top 10 tips file. So just before you kind of go into an investor meeting, or if you need to refresh your mind before having a work meeting, if you're working on the crowdfunding piece, you can just pull up your 10 tips and say, right, okay, yes. So it helps you with a checklist of the key things you need to do. How does that sound, everybody? Tell me more, because I want to, I want to hear in the chat box how you're feeling. Okay, so what happens in the crowdfunding course? Here you're going to learn, as we said, what's the big picture. So first of all, Benita is going to walk you through what crowdfunding is, the different types of crowdfunding, the different types of platform, and what are the 7 myths linked to crowdfunding that she's going to bust. And she's going to make sure that you understand before we go any further. Then she takes you through the actual tactics. What are the key tactics that you need to master? You can see lots of different resources. What are the tips and tricks to take your campaign to the next level? Key communication strategies, as you can see. And, you know, also what's really useful that Bonita does is she takes you behind the scenes as to what are the tech tools you need. That's very, very useful. And the importance of the video, the quality of the video that you do for your crowdfunding campaign, she cannot overstate the importance of it. And then she walks us through her campaign results, how it worked for her, and her final key tips for success. So that's the— Benita McTufft's Crowdfunding 101 course, and we will be having some more courses, more detailed courses on crowdfunding, on equity crowdfunding over the coming months. And I'm excited to tell you about that, where we've partnered with CrowdCube, and you'll be learning more about that very soon. And then the last one, just to have a quick overview, is grants. So as you can see, we go from pitching to crowdfunding to grants. How can you get grants? Because grants are an important thing. And then of course, in the masterclasses, we get to the VCs and the business angels. That's a different type of source of funding. So again, what's super important when it comes to grants is grants is free money. Who wouldn't want it? Yay, it's free money. But it's not really free because you have to put a lot of work and effort into choosing the right grant body and making sure that your application really is stellar. So what we've done is we have partnered with Paulina Sigulska-Tenner from GrantTree in the UK, and she is an expert on everything that has to do with how to get grants. How do you, you know, what are the grant bodies you need to be looking at? How do you actually apply? What are the key tips to make your application stand out? What are the key dos and don'ts? So this course is for anybody who knows that they're going to be applying for grants, and even if you're a college student and you're going to be applying for grants, I guarantee you will learn some great key tips in this course. And it's really good if you don't know where to start. Here you can see a quick video from Paulina, and so she gives some really nice key tips. And then the information that you're going to learn is, you know, what are the grants that are available, how to approach those grant bodies, how to write those application forms, how to get the feedback, what are the key dos and don'ts, and when not to apply for funding. And again, that whole how long it takes, because we often really underestimate how long it is to get those grants. So one of the— like 8.4 out of 10 people were likely to recommend this course, and Deirdre said it was really practical, informative, well worth the time. Gabriella said it was insightful, advice was valuable, moderator really captured what the audience wanted. Oh, thank you very much, that was me. And she said it was one of the best courses she's attended lately, and that was fantastic. So, you know, all these courses have been tried and tested by previous people, so go read it and see what they think. And again, we will always make sure that you get— you understood it now— the key elements of success. You will also get some extra bonuses, and inside you'll be learning, you know, what's included. So each time we break down what's included in the course, you get the videos. Sorry, I clicked on something where we're already in it. I'm going to show you behind the scenes in a second. So how you can take action, bonuses, etc. So how does that sound to you? Again, what we want to do is make sure through our courses that everything you do is actionable. So we've had a look through the courses. Let me take you now on a journey into the masterclasses. And after we've done a quick overview, I'll switch this off and I want to come back and answer your questions, if that's okay with you. So let's have a look behind the scenes in the masterclasses. Now, masterclasses, like the word suggests, here we're coming also from different types of experts. We want to to bring you the best information you can get from investors who actually actively support female founders and invest in them, or who haven't invested yet and want to be part of the solution, and also from those funded women and other types of experts. So I'd like to take you today through 2 of our first courses that are already live today. A bit like Apple was saying, already available today. We have some investor courses that are masterclasses that are ready. So let me take you first through the masterclass with Nicole Glarus from Techstars. If you have to apply and want to apply to Techstars, which is one of the best accelerator programs in the world, you would really want to take a look at this course, uh, take a look at this masterclass. Nicole is the managing director and chief innovation officer of, of Techstars, and guess what? She's actually the mastermind behind the whole accelerator model. So 10, 15 years ago, she's the one who actually created the model of acceleration for startups. So she's a real expert, and Techstars is one of the absolute best— one of the best accelerator programs you can ever go to. So this masterclass is going to be for entrepreneurs. You could be a mentor to startups. You could be students. anybody who wants to go to an accelerator but also wants to hear from a really solid investor who knows her stuff. And you may have already started your funding journey, you may have already targeted investors. Nicole is going to take you through and show you how that— what you need to know in order to be able to apply for Techstars, and then also amazing, amazing advice to you, the founders, when it comes to all kinds of level of advice for looking for funding. So for example, you learn, you know, what's the difference between seed VCs and other types of venture capitalists, how much equity to give up each round, when is the best time to fundraise, key things that she wants to see in the pitch deck. And what's really, really cool about Nicole is that she has seen, honestly, I would say at least 10,000 pitches, pitch decks over the past few years. Every year she sees at least 2,000 decks. So when she gives you advice, you know you're getting expert advice. She really, really— what I love about Nicole is that she really talks straight. And when you're in the masterclass with her, it's like you're in a conversation because, you know, we had this as a live conversation with her And then we broke it down to make it digestible into bite sizes for this masterclass. And she was just so, so awesome. She really answered all the questions really straight. And so in each of the modules, in each of the lessons, you can see the list of questions. So this is a masterclass, so we make it shorter, sweeter. So you'll get the exclusive insights, you get the flexible learning, you get the short impactful videos, you will also get the worksheet the top 10 tips, and other bonuses. So, you know, she will tell you all the key advice you need about, you know, Techstars, what it is you need to do to get into them, and what she says is valuable advice for any accelerator program, actually, to be honest. And then we break down all the questions that she answered live into different modules. So that is an example of the masterclass that we have with Nicole. She is an exceptional lady, very smart. And the great thing is, so you can check their, their bio, who they are. Like, you know, she— look at this, she's a market cap— they've invested, um, in, in a market cap— they have a market cap of over $5 billion, $265 million under management. You know, you want to hear from her. The good news is, for the investors, you will always have their email. So we, you know, where we Where we have it, we give it to you and we give you her blogs so you can find out more. Again, you have some Q&As at the end. The whole point with the masterclass is to speed up your learning, make sure that you get that absolute fantastic information really hurting. Okay, so that was an example from Nicole. Then we move to France. So that was from America. Let's have a look at at the investor masterclass from Sam Jerusalmi from Elia. Elia is one of the SaaS, B2B SaaS, deep tech VC firms in France and in Europe. So you wanna hear from her. She gives a fantastic masterclass on all the key things you need to know with regard to Elia's fund. So who they are, what's their investment pieces, and, you know, what kind of company should apply and her key tips, her dos and don'ts. That's what's brilliant. So in the masterclass, she'll walk you through the key dos and don'ts. You get some bonus materials. Again, always have her top tips. You'll always have a worksheet. And, you know, again, you learn about her. What's really nice with— what's really useful about Sam's masterclass as well is she explains her journey to become a VC. So there are some women out there who are really interested in becoming venture capitalists, and this is really great because she explains how she became a VC. Again, very smart. She tells you all the key things, the type of companies they invest in, and, you know, the key types of funding questions they get asked, the dos and don'ts. what you should be doing in the first investor meeting, what you should be doing afterwards, how you need to follow up, all of the key tips you can get. I mean, imagine if you're doing your homework, if you are targeting tech VCs, coming to see her masterclass is going to be so, so useful because you can really prepare. And that's what we're going to do. So that's a key, a key, uh, overview of the masterclasses. And then the other thing I wanted to share with you as well is we have put together, curated for you, a lot of resources that are free because we want to make sure that we can help you as much as we can. So if you haven't already joined, we really, really would ask you to join our Facebook community because guess what? Here it is, you know, want to join? Yay, I want to join! Join the Facebook community because in there you can connect with other women entrepreneurs from around the world, and we share updates, updated news on funding for female founders, pitch competitions, um, articles on the funding industry, everything to do with the women entrepreneur lens. You get that information every single day, and, you know, obviously you may not have time to go look every day, so you can check, you know, the weekends, but it's packed, only focused on funding, only for female founders from women around the world. I want you to join, so come and join. Um, lots of other resources we have— investor databases. Oh, I'm excited about this. One of the key things that, you know, every woman entrepreneur and every entrepreneur wants to know is, how do I target the right investors? Where do I look for them? So what we've done here is curated a list of databases that already exist, most of them that are free, where you can actually do your research on, uh, the type— different types of investors. So here you have, for example, Women VC, which is a database that's created by Renata George. She's a fantastic woman VC that we've interviewed for our membership platform that I'll tell you more about in a second. And she has actually gone and personally researched the whole US market, um, to actually see what are the number of women VCs and On the list, you have the US database. You can click in here. You can see all the women VCs in the US.
You know?
So that's absolutely awesome. Again, there's another global directory called Women in VC. I know the names are very similar. Just the way it is. Again, you can have a look. So it's predominantly corporate and institutional VCs. So they don't have a lot of the earlier, smaller VC firms. And they're self-reporting, so people can write what they want, which is a bit different to— the database from Renata, where she has done the in-depth research, and she's written 2 books on women in VC. So you want to check all of these, they're great resources. AllRaise— if, if you're a female founder looking for funding, you've probably heard about AllRaise that has been set up by Aileen Lee in the States, and I was so delighted to have, uh, to have met her recently. So it's, it's a great network of women VCs who actively want to help support getting more women into VC and more funds towards female founders. And they have female founder office hours where you have access to those women VCs for feedback. Check them out. So you have that. Again, that's very US-based. Backstage Capital— how could we not mention Backstage Capital from wonderful Arlan Hamilton, who invests in women of colour and LGBTQ founders? So you'd want to have to check on that. Also, there's a really interesting report called Project Sage, which actually lists out 58 different funds that have a gender lens across the USA, and they have some new research that's coming out with a European edge as well. And if you're looking for just general data on venture capital, all the deals, you need to check out PitchBook. And they have an excellent database. They do have a list of women in VC, so we'll be adding more to it. So PitchBook, you have to. Crunchbase, you have to. So So somewhere, these are some of the free databases that already exist. So we wanted to make sure that you had access to them already. So you have the free community, you have the list of investor databases, then you have the list of funding must-reads. So here we have at Global Investor, we have curated for you a list of all the key books on what it is, you know, funding, looking for funding, angel investing, VC, and a list of all the investor blogs, the key investor blogs you can have a look at. So if you're new to all this stuff, it's definitely worth your while checking them out. You don't have to go and Google and say, which are the best ones to do? We've done it for you. We've got it all for you and it's ready for you now. Please go and check it out. So you can check their books, you can check, um, the blogs, and we have, as you can see, women investor blogs. Um, and then also we have done at Global Investor a series of investor interviews with different investors, and these ladies are absolutely phenomenal. I want to say a big shout out to Elena Rossini, who is a dear friend, a fantastic film producer and film director, who filmed and directed these videos with the help of some great friends in Ireland. So check them out— short, fantastic, impactful videos from investors to you, and these ladies have your back. We also have a whole section on our YouTube channel with practical funding tips, loads of great videos, and some printables. So here, for example, you've got the funding calendar. You can download the funding calendar, organise your funding actions by month, by year, by month, by week. It's really good. So these are some of the key things that you have at your fingertips already. Our membership will be coming out probably at the end of July. It's coming soon. So it's going to be called the Roadmap to Funding, and it's gonna be fantastic. So we'll be opening it twice a year, so you want to get into the first one because it won't be opening again until next January. Come in, learn about funding together in this group of women entrepreneurs. We'll be lots of women from around the world, and I'm gonna take you from knowing nothing about funding to, okay, I know exactly what I need to do, I know the funding game, I've got my funding documents ready, I have targeted my investors and baby, I'm gonna go get that money. Yes, we can. Yes, we will get funded. This is the Roadmap to Funding. I'm so excited. So this is going to be our new, um, community. It'll be an online membership where you will get access, if you become a member, to the, um, Roadmap to Funding. Those masterclasses you saw, they'll be part of your monthly fee. So that's fantastic. Your monthly investment, you get that all the time, and every new course that comes, you automatically get it. So if you want to be one of the first to know and get some goodies, join the waitlist because we want to be able to, to help you. So these are the key things that I wanted to share with you when you come into the Academy and when you buy the courses. Just to give you a quick look behind the scenes, you get— this is your dashboard behind. You can see all the courses, the sources that you have. You can see how much of each course you have you have done. Some crowdfunding in this one. It shows I've only done three percent. You will get some friendly reminders to do things, and that's it. So I'm going to pause, stop sharing because I absolutely want to hear from you all.
