Slowing down and adding pauses to your speaking helps audiences actually absorb what you're saying. When you rush through, people can't keep up mentally. Deliberate pacing and silence give listeners time to process.

I've also learned with the speaking is allowing for those pauses and to not talk so fast. The power of the pause. And when you pause and you're not talking so fast, you leave room for people to process what you're talking about. And I had put myself in the audience member's shoes. If I'm at an event and I'm listening to speakers, do I process it better when they're talking really fast about whatever this X, Y, and Z topic, or am I able to absorb and learn and process the information a lot better when people talk slower and when they leave room for the pauses to process.
