Anthony Goldner and a co-speaker argue that fear of doing the work, not lack of knowledge, keeps people stuck. The discomfort of unfamiliar territory and uncertain outcomes trigger paralysis. Taking small baby steps builds confidence and breaks the cycle.
Doing the actual work sometimes is what scares people the most, is they know they need to do it, they know that that's what needs to happen, but they just don't do it.
Yeah, it's stepping into that uncomfortable, scary zone, that stretch zone that a lot of people don't want to step into because they're like, it's unfamiliar. Yeah, it's, it's not that it's just uncomfortable, but it's unfamiliar because they don't know Well, what happens if I do this? What happens if I do that? Like, it's the if this, then that, you know? And that's a lot of what holds people back because they're letting that fear take hold of them and they don't get into that space where they're like, okay, I need to at least take a baby step and then it'll get me a little bit further, boost my confidence. I know people get stuck and they stay there.
