When you're out filming by yourself, this can help you change angles very quickly and into any direction, especially if your camera is on the tripod. But if you're on the go doing handheld, you can still use this. But I recommend the standard cold shoe tilt mount or the screw on tilt mount for handheld, mainly because you can use that one one handed. For this one you do need two hands to kind of adjust it, but overall I think it's a great accessory to have.
