You Should Only Post Once a Day on Instagram

Areeb Mirza argues that posting once daily on Instagram helps the algorithm learn your audience faster than sporadic posts. Creators like Alex Hormozi and Elon Musk post dozens of times daily without overwhelming followers because the algorithm curates what each person sees. For accounts under 10,000 followers, one high-quality post per day beats low-quality volume posting.

Pretty much every business owner I talk to asks me this: Areeb, am I posting too much? Am I going to burn out my audience? And I get it. There's a fear that if you post every day, people are going to get sick of you. So let me ask you something. Your favorite creator, the one you actually watch, do you want more of their stuff or less? Your favorite creator probably posts more than once a day. Alex Hormozi, I believe his team posts 60 times a day across all platforms. 60, and people still want more. You have to understand the algorithms are designed to keep you on the platform. So even if Alex Hormozi posts 60 times a day, you're not gonna see 60 posts of Alex Hormozi every single time. At that point, you will get tired. So of course they've already worked around the fact that some people are going to post a lot. They figured this out years ago. They're not gonna punish you for posting consistently. If anything, they reward you for it. And here's the thing that nobody tells you. If you post a reel and that reel gets publicized,. And here's the thing most people still don't realize. Whenever you post a reel, of course it does get pushed out to your followers first, and then it gets publicized to the entire world, not just your existing followers. And if the content is good enough, it can go viral and explode. And the only way you increase the odds of that happening is by testing more and posting more, not less. If you're worried about your uncle's kids watching your stuff and getting annoyed by it, be honest with yourself. That's a separate issue. We're not posting to entertain your family. We're posting to make money. We're posting to attract customers. The more you post, the more views you get, the more reach, the more impressions, and the more you test, the better your numbers get. And one more thing, the algorithms actually want you to post as much as possible because they need more content to distribute to people who actually interact with your stuff. Because if no one's interacting with your post, no one's engaging with it, they're not going to see new ones either way. So posting once a month doesn't necessarily protect you. It just makes you invisible. The entire game of marketing is repetition. If you're only showing up once a month or twice a week, you're not the relevant option in your industry. Somebody else is. And that's just the game.
Help. Help. Help. Help. Help. Help. And here's what I want you to do right now.
Literally pull up your favorite creator, open their profile, and count how many times they've posted today. I want to use Twitter as an example as well. Or X. How many times do you think Elon Musk posts a day? Like, if you use Twitter and if you follow Elon and if you follow Trump, you'll realize that they literally post 10 to 20 times a day sometimes. If the algorithms were not smart, all you would see is Elon Musk and Trump posts. That's it. Your whole feed. But that's not what happens because the algorithm is smart. It is not logical to assume that more posts you put out, the same people are going to see it over and over again. If that were true, every politician would be crazy posting 100 times a day. And this It's still kind of r, but it still works fine. So let's talk about the math for accounts under 10,000 followers. So let's say if you're watching, you're under 10,000 followers, and if you want to grow past 10K, you have to post consistently, not occasionally, consistently. That is the threshold. Under 10,000 followers, the platform is still trying to figure out who you are and who your audience is. The more you post, the faster the algorithm learns, and the less you post, the slower it learns and the harder it gets to break through that ceiling. Across our 300+ clients, here's the frequency we actually recommend. Post once a day to start with, especially if your content is not performing well or you're not super consistent or you haven't been posting in the first place. You have to start by posting once a day and then worry about increasing frequency as you grow. I promise you, you can literally sign a lot of clients just by posting once a day consistently and then further down the line, couple that with an ad strategy. Now here's a warning, and pretty much every business owner needs to hear this. People will look at Alex Hormozi, they will look at Gary Vee, saying post 60 times a day, 100 times a day. And I know that's an exaggeration, but they tell to tell you to volume post. And business owners listening to that, they take that as permission to pretty much put out garbage content. And you have to understand, bad content at the end of the day is still bad content. And if you're posting that 3 times a day, 4 times a day, it's still bad. It does not matter. Like, people still don't enjoy it and the algorithm will suppress it. So it actually hurts you, if anything. Instead, focus on one good post every single day, and that's the minimum we recommend where you start with. What you should actually be focused on is building a system that lets you reliably get one good quality post out per day. So let's talk about the systems you actually need. So first thing is having an editor on file. Very key. You need a real script writing system. And by that, I don't necessarily mean you just go to Claude GPT, just type in, write some ideas for my business, and then whatever thousands of ideas it gives you, you record all of those videos and just waste a lot of time. Just don't do that. That's lazy and it shows. You need a real planned out script. Those are the elements I would pretty much focus on first. Now, the last thing I want to talk about about is something I've realized after talking to thousands of business owners on a very daily basis. A lot of the blockage around creating content and actually growing on social media is always self-inflicted. You have this idea in your head of how your content needs to look like, how the branding needs to feel, what people are going to think about it. And be honest with yourself, 9 out of 10 times, people don't care about any of those things you're worrying about. The first thing you actually need to do is just get the post out. I was in the same exact shoes as well. The main thing that pushed me to actually start posting on my Instagram on a daily basis years and years on end was that I just stopped caring how I looked or how I sounded. And I don't necessarily mean production-wise, like the quality and the audio quality. I just meant how I looked and how I sounded. And when I stopped caring about that and just committed to posting every single day, that's when I started realizing people actually don't care as much as I thought. They don't care about how I look. They don't care about sound. It was just all in my head. And the people who do care about that stuff are usually family members or friends. And those are not the people I'm trying to sell in the first place. So it doesn't matter either way. From there, my system was simple. Have a list of ideas I want to create, put them on a piece of paper, show up and record, have it edited, and have a post ready to go every single day. That's where it all starts. And that's the main thing you should be worried about and focusing on. So if you're sitting there wondering, am I posting too much? I promise you, you're almost certainly not. The real question is, am I posting good enough content consistently enough to give the algorithm something to work with? Start with one good post today. Build a system that makes that sustainable and stop worrying about your uncle's kids being annoyed by it. They're not your customer. And if you want our help building you this system that I just talked about for your business, there's a Calendly link in the description. If not, just go post, focus on the quality, focus on the exact outline we talked about in this video. I'll see you in the next one.
