Areeb Mirza recommends the Sony A7IV as a single-camera choice for people who want to shoot both photos and video. He highlights the 33-megapixel sensor, 10‑bit color depth with 4:2:2 chroma subsampling (useful for color grading), useful Sony software features (including breathing compensation), and notes the 4K60 crop as a practical but manageable limitation.
So if I had to recommend one camera to anyone, what would it be? I would Recommend the Sony A7IV, assuming you want to do both photo and video. It has 33 megapixels, good for photo, good for video, even 10 bit color depth, 422 chroma subsampling, good for color grading. People kind of moan about the 4k60 crop. I get it, but in most cases just take a step back because the quality is still there. And also it has all the new Sony features, like even some features that the newer expensive cameras have not seen yet. Something like the breathing compensation that you will not see in more expensive cameras. So yeah, as a Sony user, the A74 is a good buy.
