BENGALURU | MEETING MARATHON | DAY 1

A founder walks through his first day of back-to-back client meetings in Bangalore in August 2019, covering agency strategy, preparation tactics, and what he learned about digital marketing and hospitality trends.
Beginning of a three day Bangalore tour. We're doing nine meetings. Then we have the webinar tonight, then we have the calls tomorrow. We're going to be doing a lot of learning because we're going to meet a lot of clients and ask them about their feedback on what they look for from an agency. So all of you people who are running agencies or are freelancers, this is customer feedback in real time, number one. Number two, we're going to be pitching to a lot of new clients. That's interesting. I always love pitching. And the third thing is that all the learning that we have from what our client interactions, we're going to put them into mini episodes and bring it to you. So stay tuned. This Bangalore episode, I promise you they'll be learning as practitionership. So instead of sitting in my office and creating videos, we're on the road meeting clients and showing you exactly what's happening. Some of them might not allow us to film, but we'll come back and give you the gist of it without naming the client just to give them all of the respect that they deserve. Thank you very much. I, you know, if, you know, obviously India has a lot of these places. So Hoskas has a co working space and Bombay, there's a co working space which is owned by a friend of mine. There are so many times when you just go to a co working space just for the energy. You sit there and you start doing your work from there. You know, I don't even use the laptop. Sometimes the phone is enough and just the energy is so different that you do a very different level of. In fact, you know what I was thinking the next level of offices should be that you have an office, I have an office, everybody has it. So we combine. Anybody can sit in anybody. I change your location. Because the thing is we are always saying that we want our teams to learn more, grow more, open their perspective. How will that happen in the same environment? True. You know, and it's a culture change, Karo, which is like pulling teeth. Changing culture is not. So then if I align with 10 offices and my team and or I can go and sit in another office, then obviously he's imbibing the culture from that office without having it forced down anybody's throat. Today people are open to any idea and learning from another organization will always have a deeper impact. 100%. 100%. Nice, sir. So the best part about one of the good things about what we do is at Internet moguls is that me and Mohit and Deepak all of us at different parts in the organization for running different, organized, different departments. We get to travel a lot, we get to meet a lot of people in between meetings. Right, right now I think we're about 45 minutes ahead of time. I always say it's better to be early than to be late. Right? We get to take time out and see some of the most luxurious hotels on the planet which have won several awards and people come from all over the world just to experience those hotels. Those hotels welcome us for meetings. They offer us awesome hospitality. We get to see the hotels, we get to see stay in some of their awesome suites. And how much better can this get, right? Awesome. With social media changing so fast, with digital marketing changing so fast, sometimes a hotel comes to us and says, my direct business fell from 16% to 11% or grew from 11 to 16 or my social media, I'm not getting business from social media. I'm just seeing awareness. So everybody has different requirements and an agency is working on one format because as the agency also grows, you realize that we are training. Agency people are training their teams differently and hospitality people are getting trained differently. So for example, a hospitality team in a hotel is going to conferences where maybe the last day of the second day of the conference is on digital marketing. Right? Whereas in an agency we're teaching differently. So we said, how do we get everybody on the same page? So we started a webinar series every two weeks for the entire year where we conduct a 60 to 90 minute webinar on what are the seven trends that took place in the last 15 days where we share, wow, stories of maybe Hilton New York or Pan Pacific Vancouver. This is what they did, what you can do it as well. So covering different points. And so we've been doing this for a while and we've seen that more and more. You know, with these three things we feel confident that we've been able to add more value and we're not just an agency. And I see the next years now and we've been able to, you know, have a vision for the company and we feel that these next, these, these three things will help us, you know, have a longer term relationship with the hotel because A, we're training every department of the hospitality of the hotel in terms of digital marketing on what's happening new and all of that. And we bring in experts from different parts of the world like GMs from New York and all of that. You know, you share your experience on how you use social with another agency and how it works Sam so what we do is we just create regular content on all our meetings, what happened and all of that it helps us put on our social media. So this was the end of the day, day one Meeting three One thing that we learned from this meeting was that what a client is expecting for you to be able to make maximum impact on the time that both of you are spending together is to have a campaign or a campaign ideas ready for just that hotel and tell them what you can do for them and understand what is lagging on their social media pages in the very recent past. The more you've studied them they give you four minutes of attention and after four minutes for you to get earned for you to earn the next four minutes it takes that much amount of more time and preparation research, research practice, practice, practice. Come prepared, come prepared, come prepared. Good meeting. Good day. First Day one three meetings over and now we headed back to the hotel.
