Digital Marketing Agency owner achieves 10 Lakhs month with IMOTWS

This is a YouTube video titled "Digital Marketing Agency owner achieves 10 Lakhs month with IMOTWS" featuring an in-depth interview conducted on April 22, 2022. The conversation is between Jahad, a business consultant with Internet Moguls of the World school, and Ajay Singh, a digital marketing agency owner. Ajay shares his entrepreneurial journey, challenges faced, the impact of joining the IMOTWS school, and how it helped him grow his business, improve confidence, and achieve financial success. The discussion covers topics such as mindset shifts, learning, automation, and community support within the school.
Approximately I must have made about close to 10 lakh rupees in the last year. Which is, which is nothing, trust me, in comparison to what I have learned. And, and I could have made more also but I kept my pace very slow because I wanted to serve more.
So good evening once again and I would like to welcome you first. So we have Ajay Singh with us who joined IMOTW one year back and it's wonderful to have him right now in front of me to share his success story. So as per the norms, let's begin with our hero intro. So I'll go first. I'm Jahad, daughter of a mathematician and a very passionate homemaker. Sister to an intelligent chartered accountant, an engineer turned MBA turned manager for e commerce platforms like OLX and Amazon. Marked my way as an HR manager for a coaching institute and now working as a proud business consultant with Internet Moguls of the World school. So this has been a wonderful journey in the last 1.5 years of enrolling people into the school and then doing these Texas case studies with them. So that is something that gives me immense pleasure and I am really looking forward to working more with the school so that I can help people grow their business online. So this is about me and let's hear it from Ajay that how his journey has been. And first beginning with your hero intro.
All right, thank you Jahad first of all for inviting me to this session. I would like to go first with my hero introduction as you've suggested. My name is Ajay Singh. I am born and brought up in Delhi, living with my family, my lovely wife, two lovely boys. Now I'm living in Gurugram which is a town near Gurga, New Delhi. Many people know that. And I started my journey very early in the in my career. I started as an animator. But then I realized that there's hardly any scope of animation in India at that point of time. Talking about 1996. And then I graduated, you know, just stumbled upon advertising actually. And I, when I come came to advertising I realized that this is something which, which I was really liking what I was doing. And I'm not a trained person technically I'm a, I'm a graduate, I'm a commerce graduate. Otherwise I used to hate mathematics. And so I stumbled upon advertising where I didn't need to, you know, talk about numbers. Started liking the job, worked in various advertising agencies all over India, Mudra, you know, Sachi and Sachi to name a few. And then about 12 years back I thought of starting my own gig and you always. Everybody wants to become an entrepreneur one day, right?
Yeah.
So I also tried it. I tried it, failed once and then again I tried it and somehow survived next time. And so far, surviving last 12 years, I started my agency called Cherry Factor Communication. This was just after recession. It was a very hard time because me and my wife, we were expecting our first child. With the mindset of regular money coming in into your bank account every month, every first or fifth or tenth month, you know, from that mindset coming into, you know, that state, state where you have to give salary on the 1st to multiple people of your employee to your employees. Doesn't matter whether you are getting money from the clients or not. So that mindset shift took a lot of time to, you know, to understand all these things because though I believe I was good in my work, but when you start an entrepreneurial journey, when you start your own business, you are not only working on one thing which you are good at, you are doing five, seven, ten things at the same time. So I learned everything by doing all the possible mistakes in the book. And this is where I am so far. So that's a little journey about myself.
It was so good to like listen from an entrepreneur himself about challenges that one goes through and especially the mindset with which you have to move forward, like whatever going on in the background. Still, like as an entrepreneur, you keep marching ahead. So that's what makes the difference. So let's begin by first knowing that what exactly were the challenges that you were facing before you thought of joining Internet Global?
Okay, so I'll, I'll tell you what that, you know, this is, this has happened after almost, you know, working for almost 10 years in my business. And I had good clients. I was, I was, I had some international clients and I have some Indian clients. And I was making good money, honestly, so much that I could not spend on myself. I was investing in properties and all that stuff. So. But one day what happened is thanks to demonetization and other stuff and some, some, you know, higher changes, some companies which I was working for, the main, bigger clients of mine, they got bought over by different other companies and that, that is where the whole disruption happened. And then I realized that where exactly I am, I have to almost start from the scratch. I had to, you know, say no to most of my team. And I said that either you work with me on the project basis or you can just find another job. That was a very hard decision for me because I am a very people's person. But that was the Time when I realized that okay, while I was working for different clients, I was not upgrading myself. While I have team members who can create website, who can handle social media, but do I really know the deep insight, the future of what is going to happen with websites? You know, so I, I had the basic understanding but I did not have the deep knowledge. And I always used to feel maybe sales is not the best part. Maybe I need to learn more into about sales, maybe I need to learn more about technology. Though I was a tech person so that was not a big of a challenge for me. But I realized that I need to learn and upgrade myself to, you know, just be there in the industry. Because after working for almost 10 years, I've realized that I'm at the same place when I'm going to a new client pitching for a website. There is a fresher who's coming at the same time and he's the guy is sitting next to me doing the pitch. So what is the difference in a fresher who's got maybe six years, six months, one years of experience and somebody, somebody like me who's coming from 10 years of job experience which is a previous agency experience and another 10 years of my experience of running my own agency, how client is going to see me and what other values I can add into the, the whole equation. That is where I feel that I need to upgrade myself a little more and I need to keep learning new things, new technologies so that I can be ahead of everything I'm doing. And I would like to mention here one small incident. When I started this whole journey I thought maybe let's learn Facebook advertising and Google Ads first because you know the technical stuff. And I enrolled for a two day workshop which was a very intensive workshop. The guy know very supposed to be one of the best Facebook ad guy in India. And this person was teaching Facebook ads and Google Ads and two day workshop. And I attended that workshop and whatever I need to learn, I learned that. But you know the strange thing what I saw there is that apart from me nobody else was a digital marketer. The rest of them were business owners who were learning Facebook ads and Google Ads. And that is what I realized that this is supposed to be my target audience, the small business owners, the medium sized business owners. When they are learning Facebook ads themselves, when they are learning Google Ads themselves, why will they ask me to do the work?
Right?
Right. So if I'm telling them that hey, I can do some great designs for you and they were like I know design, you know, I don't care, just get me the leads. So that was a mindset. I just, you know, that was a shift in me and I think that that gave me a lot of insight and that, you know, doing these small, small courses gave me a lot of excitement. And I would like to mention here especially the, the Internet moguls of the world school. This, this particular course have given me so much that, that I can't even explain in words. So we'll talk more about it, I'm sure in the next further questions.
Yeah, yeah, sure. So one thing is really good from what I heard from you is learning is very important. And every time we have to learn something, like we go in the initial years of our life, we go to school first, then to college and then we learn everything. We get the degree and then we feel that that was necessary and we do it. But when it comes to being an entrepreneur, people start trying on their own without getting into a school for that as well.
Yeah.
So this is something that is culture.
In India at least because if you want to start a new business, there has to be a specific training for that kind of a business. We don't have that custom anymore. If you are a college graduate, you have option of doing different areas and you, everything you learn, you learn either on internship or on job. And that's a very time taking and a painful process of learning.
Yes, definitely. And the one thing which you get from a school is not rather one thing. I would say you get a proper code, structure, discipline and community.
Right.
Which you know the importance of that. But then like just you just mentioned that in India it is less of going into an entrepreneurship school. And once people get to know about the importance of it, definitely they will also take a step at it.
Exactly. See, information is available on YouTube. Every single possible thing. You can search, you can get it. But how to structure it and how to, you know, be accountable to it. That is, you know, that is what matters in a system.
Right. Okay, so if we talk about like specifically two reasons for which you joined IMOTW school. Like one, when, when you decided to join, what is it that you were looking for inside this?
All right, so one, of course I was looking for, you know, more money. How can I make more money after doing this workshop, after doing this program? You know, first school of thought was this. The second school, second thought was that I felt that I need to be a little more confident in front of the camera. Right now I'm talking to you. Trust me, when we used to go to those parties and Weddings and all that. So it was like that, but now I feel that. And I think this, you know, partly Kovid also helped us, you know, getting into, pushed us into this zoom culture.
Okay. So this has, like, it's a visible change talking right now. You've totally transformed from a person who is like a camera shy. And yeah, it helps also, like when you yourself are talking in your videos.
Yeah.
You are directly able to build a connect with.
Exactly. You see, initially it is difficult for everybody, you know, seeing yourself and then talking, it's a very weird experience. Initially, everybody feels that, you know, they are not looking good, the lighting is not right, the hair is not right for me, the beard is not right. I don't have much hair at the top. But you realize that, okay, after you get over that bridge of being a little discomfort, comfortable seeing yourself, then after that, you know, it's just, you're talking to people. Like now I do workshops with hundreds of people and I don't feel anything because I feel that, you know, the value which I'm giving to the people that is more important than my opinions.
Exactly. So there are some barriers which we are also not aware of.
Yeah, disappeared.
Okay. So, like if I ask you that three things that overall changed in your life, not only just business, but you are able to maintain a work life balance, then what were those three things?
See, I can, I can tell you some, some philosophical stuff, but if I'll be very honest with you, it helped me, you know, it'll help me keep my mental stability. In the pandemic where everybody was going bonkers, everybody was sending that, okay, they are very depressed and they are very, you know, fearful and what is happening in the world. We all heard people that, you know, somebody, somebody passed away. We all know that, that, you know, somebody in the relationship, friends in the, in the society, in the family, you know, somebody has gone. We all know that in that situation where, you know that world is going to end, how to keep yourself calm. And as, as a, as a leader of the family, you need to motivate the family, the kids, everybody. So. And of course, the money is not coming in. So keeping all these things, I think personally I feel that this is the biggest thing that imotw has helped me, keeping my sanity, you know, in that in the tough times. That is one personal thing I would like to share. Second, it gave me a lot of confidence on camera and otherwise also it gave me a lot of confidence in saying my things. And third, is that the, the way this, you know, the, the System the school is designed. It gave me a lot of clarity when I'm speaking speaking to somebody. I know the five steps ahead now.
Right.
It was not there earlier. We used to give said okay sir, we have these solutions. I can do this for you, I can do that for you and all that stuff. Then I am expecting client to come back to me and give me the business. But now the whole. Now I understand the strategy part. Now I understand that okay. I need to be in the client's shoes to give deliver him this quality and the services. So now when I'm going to the client, I don't start selling myself first. I understand their problems and give them the solution which will work for them. And that is. That is I believe is the biggest difference in terms of a business approach Now I'm using and that is working for me.
Yeah, right. Definitely for sales like listening is really important. Only then you will be able to convey something or convince something together.
Yeah. So I'm. I'm just you know concising it telling you very small part. But you know from the sales to prospecting to follow ups and all these things, this is all the things I've learned in the school which. Which I knew earlier because I am from marketing. But then you don't apply them in real life.
Exactly. Practically implementing things gives you a.
Yeah.
So coming to like what is it that you are doing differently in your business now after joining the school? And the reason for you to join was firstly it was to increase your earning. So also like to know that how much is the amount that you earned after joining.
Okay. So I'll tell you what different I'm doing first with my business. I'm putting things more on automation now earlier I was get. I was too much involved into operations. Now I'm a little. I take a little step back and delegate as much as possible. So that is what that what gives me a little more confidence then my client. It gives my clients more confidence and then I have a lot of free time which I can do whatever. I can spend the time with family, I can listen to music or maybe just don't do anything. So that is. That is one thing I. I learned how to manage my time and the resources. Now the second thing was that my earning part now that's a. That's a very different difficult question for me to answer because I'll tell you what. I started doing webinars with this system. So I did my first webinar last year after doing the first level first maybe some a couple of weeks of learnings. When my system was ready, I did my first webinar and I made about close to 50,000 rupees in the first webinar itself when I had no experience of doing webinar and I was shy and fumbling in front of the camera. But then the people who came into the system, those people trusted me not only with their money but with their career. People who have joined me, they joined like one lady joined, she was restarting her career after 20 years. One guy joined and you know, because I was talking to them on a one to one level, I wanted to learn more about them as my customers. So I was talking to them and they shared their personal story. And then I realized that these people trusted me not just with the money but with their entire career. So then I, then I, I was not too much into webinars though it could have given me a lot of money. But I said let me serve these people first. Let me establish each and every one and I will not stop till the time they are successful in what they want. You know why they keep trusted in, trusted in me, why they came to me first, let me achieve that, this, but that goal for them. And I worked on them for one to one basis. And then I forgot about money. I said money will, I will earn money. That's not a problem. It's not that I don't have food on my plate. I have money. So you know these multiplication of webinars can, you know will happen later, right?
I didn't. And like Avisar also said that money is part of the process.
It is a part of the process. So if you ask me that you know how much I made from the webinars approximately I must have made about close to 10 lakh rupees in the last year. Which is, which is nothing, trust me in comparison to what I have learned and, and I could have made more also but I kept my pace very slow because I wanted to serve more and I wanted to make sure that each and every one person has a personal interaction with me and they will get some benefit out of whatever they are learning from. So I've done one, I introduced one course. Then I've realized that okay, my expertise are also in setting up an agency which I have done. So I set up an agency where I now helping people to set up their own agency. So that's another course which I started. So there also people came in and now I'm in the process of setting up these agencies. So, so these, this is so approximately if you talk about numbers, yes, Directly I've made about 10 lakh rupees. But indirectly I've got a lot of business.
Right, right. Some special deals or like whatever contracts you're signing and it a part of the process that once you have the system in automation mode, once you have all the foundation set up. So it is an ongoing process. Definitely.
Yeah.
So and another thing would be there are some people who are still thinking whether they should be joining the school or not. So what would be your suggestion to them?
All right, so I'll divide it in two parts. The answer, so one, people who believe that technology is a challenge for them. So I don't know whether I'll be able to cope up with the Internet of the things in this kind of a school. So people who are technically challenged, I would say so for them definitely they should come for the strategy execution part can be done by somebody else. But if you have a clear strategy then you can do a lot things in a much faster and easier manner. If I'll give you an example that you know, you know, Mr. Tata don't sit and build car himself by his own hands.
Right.
You know, and maybe he don't even, he's not even. And you know, he may not understand technology very much. Right. But at the same time that is the biggest company they are doing. You know, they have TCs where you know, all the best of the technical brains of India is there. So it is, it is not important for you to learn technology to implement systems in your business. So definitely you can come for the strategy. So and the second part, people who are technically enabled for them is also the strategy because right now what they are doing is they are selling their products as commodities. When they will learn the system, they will understand that they can provide, not the commodity. They will not sell a website, they will not sell a service, they will not sell, you know, maybe the, their hours of expertise. But they can create a system and that system will work for them. They can create, they can provide bigger solutions to their clients. One, they will get the clarity of how you can scale up your business through the school.
Right. So definitely it's all about like we say, end to end solution for the growth of a digital business and not just a particular part like maybe digital marketing or about a particular community.
I mean I think this system is designed such a beautifully and me, I also have had a lot of interaction with Avisar as well while we were, you know, we built the system and then you know, Avisar also keeps on asking us that, okay, what is next, how we can make the system better. And we all had given our bit of a share and contribution and you know, we realized that, okay, now the system is something which is so, so powerful that no matter what business you are into, you know, you can definitely get, get huge benefits from the system. That is what I personally believe.
Right. You are one of the initial joinees and you have like clearly seen the difference that how continuously we are adding value to the program and we are like making it the best in the world so that everybody who joins in gets. Wonderful.
Yeah, I would. Okay, I would like to add one more thing here that you know, I have during Pandemic I have bought many courses. Everybody was going to those, you know, webinar marathons and all that stuff. And everybody must have purchased some or the other digital course, right? I have, trust me, I had, I had spent a lot of money and when I say a lot of money, that means a lot of money in buying, buying all these systems. This is the only system I'm sticking to in today's time. I bought international coaches as well. Thank you so much. I bought international coaches. I've taken, you know, the, the 10x systems and other stuff I've you know, paid in dollars. But then this is the only. And the kind of hand holding, the kind of the, the community you get here in imotws you don't get anywhere else. And I'm telling you this from my own experience because I have joined and experienced all these systems myself.
Yeah, so you are coming from a comparative experience sharing.
I'm completely coming from a competitive and I am not biased at all. So this is, this is one school where you join in and they will never leave you until you, you get something.
So yeah, one day like we were also in this conversation that we don't have an end towards like to our membership. So we are saying that we are providing this one year of membership. But yeah, till the time we do not have like a strict policy for ending that one year, we are like constantly helping people. And the community members are also so good that like everybody, everybody is helping each other and the connections which are getting built up are like being useful for business as well as for life.
Exactly. See, I'll be honest, I've got a lot of business from within the group itself. Got a lot of business from the group itself.
Yeah.
So forget about what I, what I have invested, but I've already got some. More than, more than. I would not say 10x but I've already received 100x from the system in terms of money. Forget about the value.
Right, Right. So now like one thing I would like to mention here that it was like very difficult to get a slot from your calendar but completely worth the wait.
Thank you. Thank you so much. I know you, you were very, very, you know, consistent in chasing me. And finally you got this interview and my schedule usually is very, you know, I cannot commit four days in advance because that is not. I plan my calendar on the day to day basis. So it was very difficult for me. And then there were some projects which were happening. So now I was relatively free. And thank you so much for following up. And that is also one thing which everybody can learn from Avi sir and his team and everybody. But because you know if. If you can learn follow up from them. Definitely.
Thank you so much. So definitely like waiting to meet you in person also now.
Oh yes. So if you're coming to the office, definitely let me know that me, you know, I also want to catch up you agreeing everybody in the team.
Sure, sure.
Definitely. We'll do an offline event very soon. I think we are planning one very soon.
Yeah.
So. So once that happens, definitely I'm looking forward to catch up with everybody.
Right, right. Yeah. So once again congratulations for your success that you have achieved and I would definitely wish you much more success in the months and years to come. Thank you so much for your time for like discussing things over here so that other people can also benefit and get to know about the school and looking forward to see you again and many more such success interviews so that we keep listening from you that how you're making it big.
Oh yes, definitely. Definitely. I'm looking forward for one more interview so you can next time again you have to chase me at the same pace. I guess looking forward. I've. I've given my a mark for 1 crore for myself that I'm to make 1 crore. So once that happened through the system only. So while you know using webinars. So once I'll have that mark definitely I'll let you know and then we can ch.
Definitely that's going to happen. I'm sure about it.
Yeah, yeah. I'm very, very sure about it.
Okay. Thank you so much.
All right. God bless. Thank you. Bye.
By.
