Good News For All Budget Hotels To Rake-In Revenues Using Websites!

Sam breaks down how budget and mid-range hotels can drive real revenue through their websites. He debunks common marketing myths and shows why content, storytelling, and analytics matter more than you think for smaller properties.
Today I want to break down one of the biggest myths in hotel marketing. One of the biggest myths in hotel marketing is that unless I am a 5 star hotel or a large hotel company, my hotel website cannot be be an e commerce website. My hotel website cannot make huge amounts of money for me. Completely false. We worked with hundreds of hotels in over nine geographies and what I can tell you is in most cases we've seen smaller budget, medium, two, three, four star hotels being in some cases more proactive than the large hotel brands. And that gives you that edge. What kind of edge? Well, we're talking about up to 40 and in some cases 50, 60% business coming from your online channels. How much of it is direct on your Website? Anywhere from 20 to 30%. 20 to 30% direct business? Yes, it is possible on your own website and another 20 to 30% coming from digital channels. Where does that keep your online business? It keeps it at up to 50 to 60% of your overall business mix. Now that is huge. But are you even spending 50 to 60% time on your online presence to make it better, to improvise it or have you outsourced it to somebody or given it to somebody in house to have a go at? The only way that you can make your online website a revenue producing website is to follow these three secrets. Number one, Content is king. Content being videos. Videos could be testimonial videos or videos about your hotel. Great, great, great. Professionally taken pictures. Do not compromise on this. Content is king on your website. Number two, have your website to tell a story. A website is not just about uploading pictures and uploading videos and putting all content. It is about creating a story and showing your audience why your hotel is different from the others. Number three is analytics. How often do you look at your business? I'm hoping that you look at your business at least once a week, if not more. You look at your numbers, you talk to your chartered accountant, you talk to your finance people on where your business is right now. If your online business has the potential to reach 50% of your business mix, how much time should you be spending in looking at analytics on that business today? Google Analytics Omnicher. Many of these tools are available for absolutely free which give you a crystal clear view of where your online business is and where it's headed. Especially for direct websites. Look at it more, understand it more. It will guide you and help you take the next step. I hope this was helpful. Thank you for watching Sam.
