How To Build Relationships Before Selling?

Avi Arya and two speakers break down LinkedIn outreach for B2B sales. One speaker filters 400 top CXOs, sends 40-50 personalized requests daily, hits a 25% acceptance rate, and books coffee meetings. The key: approach non-salesy and let relationships come before the pitch.

So we use LinkedIn as well for outreach, and I think one of the primary reasons why LinkedIn is working is because the intent on that platform is very clear. If I connect with you, you might know that it's B2B, it's for business. Whereas when we talk about Meta, it's also interrupt-based marketing. You're interrupting someone and showing the ad. And LinkedIn is the other person knows when you're sending a connection request, it would be about work and you're reaching out to them for a business collaboration given the intent of the platform. So I think that is why LinkedIn is working for us as well, where appointments are getting booked much easily when you have a certain way way to, you know, approach the person and not being salesy. So then they get on a call very quickly. At least a 15-minute call is where they come up to soon.
And probably just add on one more point here. So I'm just traveling next week to Singapore and I put an automation—
no, I'm just kidding.
No, I just put an automation that that's where my customer operator will go first to our customer to understand the pain point.
My customer is in Vegas.
Yeah, so I think what I did was I put an automated message. I filtered out my customers that these are the 400 people, top CXOs or CEO-level people in my niche. I put an automation message, hey, can we catch up for a coffee? And out of like, uh, every day we send out 40-50 automation messages. Out of 40 people that are going, 10 people will accept your messages. And I got connected and I'm, uh, I have meetings scheduled with a lot of people. So if I win for like 2 or 3 days I would suggest anybody, if you go to any location, like if you go just to Bombay area also, just do this automation and probably you'll have to— you'll end up meeting new people. So one of the person that I'm meeting right now is an ex-Meta and Google head, and that person is ready to meet up for a coffee. And they are giving me direction, okay, let's meet at this particular place. And I don't know if it's about business or not, but I just would like to catch up with you. Right? So we understand what it is over the meeting, we have a conversation, but at least that person is ready to come and talk to you. I think that's how LinkedIn works very well. A lot of—
how many people here have never done any, any of these things that they're talking about? Can you please raise your hand? That's it. I'm sure there are more people. Okay, so that means all of you, 3, 4 people who raised your hand, you have a fantastic brand new opportunity waiting for you. And how many people have done nothing on Facebook and Instagram for business? Okay, so then for the 2 of you, you have opportunity over there. So there are— every time that we all meet, there will be a new avenue Do it yourself and then please give the ownership to somebody else. My problem is when agency founders start becoming owners of everything, you know, and then I can almost predict your revenues because you're busy.
