In conversation with Dr. Chinna Dua (Part 1)

Dr. Chinna Dua, a women's imaging specialist, talks with Avi Arya about starting a YouTube channel. They cover cooking, music, and lifestyle content, with Arya sharing strategies for building an audience.
Hi, I am Chinna Dua. I am also known officially as Padmavati Dua. I am a doctor, a medical doctor by profession and I look after women's imaging and I've been mainly associated with breast imaging, that is mammography, as well as bone densitometry for the last 25 years. My question to you, Avi, is that besides medicine, I have eclectic interests like music and I'm a very, very passionate cook. I been running a cookery blog though of late I have not been very active on that. But I do want to get on to having my own YouTube channel of not just cookery, but lifestyle also. Like many of my friends know, I'm very, very fond of dressing up and especially sarees and that to handloom. So I would like to talk about that also on that show. So since you are into digital and social media marketing for corporates, I would like to get some tips from you for this.
Hi aunty, thank you very much for your question on the Askavyaria show. So there are two types of people. I think everybody can be successful online and when I mean success means that you do something that makes an impact on other people's lives. So you sing so well. You, you know, you said you have, you love to wear handloom sarees. So in, you know, different kinds of sarees. And you talk about that in your blogs, I've seen on Facebook as well. And so when it comes to your interest in cooking, although there are many cooking channels out there, but you will bring your own unique individual imprint to your YouTube channel, the number one thing that we need to understand is that if there's a Kapil Sharma show, we all know nine o' clock colors, right? Or it's a Jimmy Farron show, we know that it comes on a particular channel, that particular EST or PST in America. Similarly, we need to know a Chinna Dua show should happen on a regular basis. Could be a daily show, could be a weekly show, but if it's happening every Friday at 5 o', clock, people should know that they're ready so that they are ready for the Chinna dua Show at 5 o' clock where you talk about cooking while singing. Because they say that you put in your energy and your vibration into whatever you do. And that's why people love a mother's food, because the energy is always to give the best to their family. So if you can combine some part of singing, because YouTube channels are known for their content and content entertainment is a huge part of content. So if you can include some of your great singing with some of your great cooking, that would make a good channel. The second would be consistency. So if you announce to the world that you're coming on the show every day at a particular time, then you must show up every day. Or if you're doing it once a week, you show up once a week. Consistency is the key to winning it. YouTube. The third thing I'd like to say is that you can go to a website called Quora, Q U O R A which has the most frequently asked questions around cooking. So you can see how many millions of people are asking for what kind of questions and then accordingly answer those questions while cooking. So you might be cooking, but you also want to ask people answer people's questions. So once you go to Quora and you find out the most frequently asked questions and you answer those questions, then those very questions can be your thumbnails on your YouTube channel. So on your YouTube channel, for every episode, instead of saying learn how to make dal tadka or learn how to make the best butter chicken in town, it's going to be how to make the most diet friendly butter chicken or how to make the most digestion friendly lentils. So whatever questions are being asked around health or whatever in and around food, you can go to a channel like Kura, understand those questions and answer those questions, and then those very keywords are used to promote your show. So when people are searching, they come across your channel and you get more and more views. The more views you get, the more engagement and the comments that you get. That is oxygen for all of us content creators out there. You respond to people with the answers that you have for them and that's how our channel grows. I hope I've been able to answer your question and I look forward to seeing you in again very soon. And I look forward to being a follower of your show. All the best. And I look forward to seeing you again.
