Simple Ways To Keep Your Business Going In Hard Times | Avi Arya |

Avi Arya discusses how to keep a business running when times get tough. He covers handling social media distractions, pushing sales efforts, and staying motivated through hard periods, with practical strategies for entrepreneurs facing challenges.
If you feel there are some departments that you don't like, hire somebody who likes to do what you don't like to do. Give it one final push. What are you learning on social media? Nothing. You're just collecting shiny office. Remove it. It's like a poison. Alcohol is poison. It helps you when there's a wound. It hurts you when you're over drinking. Social media is also like that. My name is Avi Arya. Father of two girls, six dogs, husband to a superwoman, a string car racer, the term hotelier then Barcelona and founder of Internet moguls.
What up Internet locals? This is a question from today's scene which I have seen. Like when I saw your doctors standing beside you, the first question came to my mind. What should I do with my two boys? No. I have a dream that I want to follow my father's dreams. And I'm like him, I'm doing what he has done and I'm really proud of him. But yeah, I want to make something more better. When I saw your daughter standing beside you, what is that key which I can make that thing more common.
It's very simple. Aviana wants to eat a lot of sweets. Ice cream. So it was one chapter, one ice cream, three chapters this month. Pizza. So that was her thing. Raya's motivation was she wanted a better phone, a better camera, better editing gear. It's a deal. They're not kids. They're not going to say Beta mamina bola. Emotional black men each you give them what they want, they work for the for the longest time. That's how all of us do, right? They will do what they like. So one daughter of mine loves to eat and she does everything for a good meal she can. $27 a car. And outside I go for $18, so. So I give them what they want and in return they spend that time with me. So ask him what you want, give him that reward. I know that but see.
You know, I have a younger one. Very naughty, very naughty. Like it's very tough for me. And what I do is whatever the analysis techniques I do, they keep on applying on my. And then I have post experiment every time and I'm successful in that. But yeah, sometimes I see that I want to make him much more better. See, the thing is God has given me everything. I'm. I'm trying to make it more better. I bleed every fine day. But yeah, something which always mother wish to let kids grow up in a way. And when I saw your kids, both of them standing beside that I'M really proud of it.
So we heard they said it's not easy, right? This whole relationship.
Nothing is easy if you want something good.
Exactly. So we. We're working on that relationship and you'll also have to work on it.
So how to focus only on those things?
Okay, very common challenge. I'll tell you. Let me answer this in two parts. You're young, you don't have kids. But in your family, does anybody have kids? Your brothers? If there anybody, do you think for the first three to five years of that they should be given proper food when they want it or when the mother has the money? Right, when it's required. And if it's required 10 times a day, then. Right. So that means before having a child, you should be secure enough to be able to feed the child for the.
Next three, four years.
Otherwise the child would be undernourished and impoverished like most poor places in the country. And that's what happens with most entrepreneurs. We start without resources and it's very unfair for that child whose business. It's a rare entity, it's a rare energy. You have to have money for 12 to 24 months to be able to feed that child. Take a job, save that money and then start. What's the hurry? Point number one, say you've already started, then listen to what you know. Reflect back on what I said in the beginning. Put three movies in your life. Do only those three. Because opportunity, that is the biggest challenge. My mind will feel much better about it. But that's the challenge between anybody who wins or doesn't win or takes time to win. My most sincere advice to you would be if you're serious about your business, social media, Right? Once you start making a run amount of money, or maybe do once a week and see what's happening. What are you learning from social media? Nothing. You're just collecting shiny objects. Remove it. It's like a poison. Alcohol is poison. It helps you when there's a wound. It hurts you when you overthink. Social media is also like that. Use it to learn something secretly. I Otherwise the question is a very dangerous question. You need to remove it. Let today be the last day that you have this confusion. And that will happen if you remove social media today. I'm not going to make you do it on the spot, but think about it. I just want to share. I have IT consulting and training company. So Jabmane upset. Call me. I'm not more active in the group, but power of micro. I utilize that and it helped me close a year about 1cr of business. Very good. It's more correcting. And they felt somewhere he shy, he can do better. Right. So they gave me the opportunity and today they are there. Great. Awesome. Thank you.
Hi, good evening. So for the past five years I've been thinking what to ask because there's so many questions, but I'll just say, so beside two years back, you follow a direction because you're a family business, but it's completely entrepreneurship. I was following my dad's direction, everything was fine. But event like for the past few months things have been not that great and everybody has an opinion. Like you're talking about social media. Social media is something which is there for everybody.
Sure.
And then there are people. So people are just there and they say, and then these messages come on it. Maybe you're not doing the right stuff. So there are things where people have literally asked us if they want to buy out like 90% of our company and literally hire us back. And in this two years like this, stocks have been happening recently. So what you do in such scenarios, because things keep on changing and people keep on saying, and if your business is a little shaky, then you start. So what's your suggestion on that?
See, after 10, 15 years, if you think your business is shaky, right? Which means like, so put that number in your head and if that is less than one year, every next time you get a good opportunity to get that 90%, go sell it because that will take care of the next 10 years and then build something else. That's one way of doing it. Right. Because if it's either your interest is not in it or it's a sunset industry, it's not working. You're trying to beat a dead horse. It's either of those things. So either generate more interest. If you feel there are some departments that you don't like, hire somebody who likes to to do what you don't like to do. Give it one final push. The interest doesn't have to be your 24 hour. I do. There's only things in my business I don't like at all. Menu, banana gravy and all of that. I don't do it, but I hire people to do that for me. And the restaurant works very well. So regenerate interest in that. Give it one final push. And if you still feel that it's not for you, you're getting, you're getting valuation and you're getting buyback where they give you a salary plus 10% of the company, then take that. See, there is no, wrong answer.
I. I get your point. I get your point. See one. One question. So today.
Sorry, Gaurav, can you close the door? This become very disturbing. Yeah.
So today if we look at it, there is interest and there is definite opportunity. Companies who are wanting to buy back, want to buy back because they like, like the business, what we're doing and they see the potential. The issue is majorly with the financial. Like how you calculate for how long can you survive without any new business. And it's like life savings.
Push it.
So what is it like? So people say like again, everybody has an opinion. Somebody is telling me, okay, you go to this damn African factory, get some clients because you are relying on very few clients. The slightest fine. They clients. We had like one, almost one and a half.
I remember you told me how so.
And that kept us in the loop because he asked us not to market. Now when we are marketing, we are not very sure of how to get those four more because we believe in the business. I've been listening to every lecture which like almost every just by the side. So I'm still not sure what to do because my guts is still push for it, try and do more of.
It and maybe see the. What I feel is if the same question has been there for more than six months.
Yes.
Have you taken action or you're only listening?
This is the first month. Like maybe this is the first month of this.
90%. All of this every day. Well, then give it time.
20 days.
Not even one month. And the business is doing okay right now.
Yeah. Like this month has been bad. Last month was okay.
See, 20 days. Yeah. If it's a month to month thing, then you need to get five flights. There's no.
That's the whole problem.
Yeah.
That's the whole problem.
Yeah. How many, how many people did you approach in the last few months? It was 2.
25.
And everybody said no. This one. Everybody said no.
Everybody's delaying.
All 25 people are delaying.
Sites are low. Or 10 were wanting to reschedule a call or a meeting, send videos. I made my video.
So you haven't had 25 meetings.
Generally speaking, I've just had one meeting.
That's what I'm saying. So put a target, have 25 calls. That takes 100 rejections, get to 25 calls and then resign. If you reach 25 prospects, I don't think in the history of the world anything can happen which takes you to all 25 signals. I think you're not reaching out to the right people. I think you need to put in more effort. If the answer is, you know, you need to put in more effort, more in theory, less in practice.
So when you put in the effort and that's what happening. So you call xyz, then somebody. These are not the right people. You call these from a different industry. Can you pick up some different.
Can you do three calls a day? Do you want to save your business? Can you do three calls a day? Can you do 100 calls? And then we talk about it. You can't stop beforehand because you won't know the answer. And you'll always have a regret if you sell out saying that, you know what, there was a market for that conversation. Selling the thought. All 100 clients, maybe 25 of them will show interest and five will sign up with you. And that's the end of the question. I think there should be more practice in this theory. And I feel there is less effort. Somewhere something is getting discouraged and that's what's happening.
Whatever new I'm trying the day I try somebody discouraging this. So that's more or less, which is a.
So it's a mental game. It's not. It's not about your business. It's about you. It's about you. Not more or less. It's about you. Thank you. Awesome. Thank you. And then we start taking ownership.
And.
Then you will take action because.
So my role in the business was majorly to do production. I managed the production. I was never taking care of clients at all. Like, client was in my thing. My dad was taking care of clients. So past 18 months, I've spent doing getting the production right, getting the team right. We have a team of 15 people. Lot of expense. Of course, qualified people.
As an entrepreneur, you need to do sales every single day.
Because this is a like the month I started doing sales, I started getting demotivated because people don't respond and I'm.
Like, what am I doing wrong? So it's a mental game. Work out in the morning. You'll feel stronger about yourself. Meditate. You'll feel stronger about yourself. Do something to fix you. Because the business is out there. I'm sure many of your competitors are billionaires. So then there is a market.
There is a market.
It's you.
There is a definition.
Work on you.
Maybe I'll talk to you.
Yeah, talk to Neil. Okay. Hi, guys. Avi here. Thank you very much for watching this episode. It's so much fun bringing all of this to you.
