Stress guide for Entrepreneurs & Start-ups | Winter always turns to spring

A talk for entrepreneurs on managing stress and blame. The speaker emphasizes self-awareness, discipline, and surrounding yourself with honest friends who give real feedback. Taking responsibility for your actions and building a supportive community helps you weather the hard times.
In this video I want to talk about blame several times because as human beings we go through so many emotions and this video is particularly catered to entrepreneurs. Could be startups, could be seasoned entrepreneurs, or people who are working in entrepreneurial setups. In and around those entrepreneurs there are sometimes very tense situations that you're working in. And every comment made or conversation can spark off a flurry of emotions within you. In the conference room, in the meeting room, in a one to one with your boss, in a review, in a chat with the hr, in a sales review meeting on a Monday morning, you might come across as somebody who doesn't get affected. But internally, whatever is said to all of us, we get affected. Some people get affected even more and some know how to brush it under the carpet. But all of us do get affected because we take it personally and we say, I need to blame somebody for this because I'm not like this, I don't want to see myself like this. So we start blaming the situation. I stay far away from the office and therefore I'm never able to reach on time. It was just, I slept late, just one night and therefore I was late to the office. The environment that I'm growing up in, the situation that I'm going through right now, my family, my, my financial situation is such that I'm not, I'm not able to in time and I'm not able to work as hard, I'm not able to deliver. What my manager said to me today was very harsh and rude and they don't understand the situation I'm going through. My parents never had money so I, you know, I'm, I'm the only sole bread earner of the family. A zillion excuses so that somehow we're able to paint a picture for our own selves and people around us that I am amazing, which you are. But right now situations around me are not allowing me to that amazing self. This blame game becomes a habit which never leaves you. Instead, try to ask yourself or try to always have one friend who's going to call a spade a spade. There are times you need people just to listen to you and say, I completely understand what you're going through. There are those times, but then there are times when you become little more self aware when you've gone through the process of going to that other friend and saying, you know, life is not fair to me. This is happening, that's happening. And you, that friend says, I totally understand, you know, let's go out, you know, let's have a let's have a nice tea or a coffee or a drink and let's feel better about ourselves. But then once you've done with that rant, you are aware that you need to also have that friend who's going to call it like it is. And then that friend needs to tell you that there is nobody else to blame but yourself. Are you getting up in the morning before everybody else to be able to finish your task? If not, your tasks are always going to remain undone. If you're not planning 20 minutes every single day before you start your next day, your next day will always be disorganized. If you are not getting up in the morning and going to the gym or doing some form of exercise, the natural endorphin release or the testosterone release that happens after doing a good workout is not happening to you and therefore you're not as fresh. If you are not ahead of the game, you're behind the game. If your work starts at 9 o' clock and you're supposed to deliver the best presentation of your life for your client or in front of your entire team at nine in the morning, and you've not planned for it in advance and you've not gotten up in the morning to be able to do that, then you will automatically not have the best experience the next day and you might be ridiculed, or you might be blamed, or you might be targeted and people might say that your work is not good. You take it personally. But because you have such a big ego, you will now tell people that this happened because of this, this, this situation. I've got so much to drive, drive one and a half hours to work. I drive one and a half hours back. I don't have time. When can I do this? When will the present? Well, you opted to give the presentation at nine in the morning. You opted for the kind of job you're in. You opted to be the entrepreneur that you are. So once you made a decision, then whatever happens, you need to deliver because people are judging you based on that. So if you are self introspecting and if you have that friend who want to show you the mirror to say, dude, you need to lose weight because you'll get fitter and you have more energy, dude, you need to meditate. Dude, you need to have a diary and a pen all the time and plan your day in advance. And if you have a friend like that who you listen to and it does not, you don't let it affect your ego and you have somebody like that who is checking on you every week. You could be the same mirror for that friend. There is no way that between you two people or three people who have this group of being mirrors for each other will not skyrocket in life. Because the difference between winning and losing in most cases, when I put it in the worldly perspective, which is doing well in life, making more money, being more fit, more agile, delivering projects, doing whatever you're doing in your entrepreneurial setup, you could be a videographer, you could be a content writer, you could be a graphic designer. You could be somebody who's doing a paper all the time, doing media planning. You could be a hotel manager, revenue manager, front office manager who's working 12 hours a day, mostly on his feet, checking in guests, checking out guests. All of you are a general manager of the hotel or the owner of the hotel who is watching this video. All of you need to understand that unless you plan your day in advance, you will not be able to reach where you have to reach. All of these nuggets of discipline will come if you have a mirror in front of you every single day. And that mirror has to be one friend, one colleague, one mentor, One manager who 100% looks at you, at who you are, and calls a spade a spade. Have all of you, have you seen that, how our parents are? The mother might always support you in what you're doing and say, I totally understand your pain and you need your mother for what she does. And you also need your father to call a spade a spade and say, you know what? You didn't do this. I told you, and therefore this happened. You need both kind of people in your life. Could be your father, mother, could be your friends, could be your cousins, could be your colleague, could be your boss, senior manager, anywhere. But try to look out for those people. Try to engage those people in your life, be of value to them so that when you want to go to them, they have time for you. Or like I suggested, you could have mutual. You could be mutual mirrors for each other. Make that group, make that triangle. Have those two, three people in your life, and your life will start changing. I started the video by saying, let's not blame anybody, but let's take responsibility. And responsibility comes with the word response that I have a response to be given in a particular situation. And I am not for every situation that you're finding yourself stressed in, not being able to move ahead in. Try to build that community of one or two people who will be your mirrors. Stop blaming your environment and start taking responsibility. Do this once a week, half an hour exercise with somebody who you trust or two people who you trust and watch your life change automatically in the next few weeks. It's almost guaranteed. It is magical. I have been going through this magic in my life recently, and therefore I thought I should make a video and explain to you people how this magic has been working in my life. Thank you very much for watching.
