THE BLUEPRINT / PROCESS TO CREATING & SELLING SUCCESSFUL ONLINE COURSES

Ratha Song walks through creating and selling online courses on Thinkific, from picking a topic to validating demand. The webinar covers how to use courses to grow your business, with Q&A and input from Avi Arya.
And a very good friend of mine for the longest time. And whenever I'm in Vancouver, I'm at the Thinkific office, brainstorming, talking about things. And this time Ratha and I were supposed to meet. We thought we'd have coffee together and it started snowing. It was about 2ft of snow that day, Ratha.
It was a lot of snow. Yeah, probably two feet of snow. You're totally right.
So it was impossible to get out of home. So we said, okay, what are we going to connect on video? And then we said, ratha, I do a webinar at 9 o' clock for this amazing audience. But the problem is it's going to be 7:30am Is that going to be okay with you? And within a second she said, it's absolutely okay. I'll make it happen. I want to add value. So that was that one thing. That work ethic just blew me away. Thank you so much for your time, Rata.
Thank you for your time too. Really loved working with your team so far and, and just the turnout for this presentation and this training is really awesome to see. I'm very excited to get started whenever we're ready. You want to get started?
Oh yeah, let's get started. We are 180 so far and it's 9:04. I have a very strong feeling we'd have about 50 more people joining in. So you can maybe have a slower start because we need another five minutes for people to join.
Absolutely.
In this part of the world we like to be fashionably late, like we call it.
Yes.
Over to you. I will come in again just to interrupt you when there are about 50 more people, just to set the context once again. But then I'm going to close my video screen. It's over to you. And I'll come back once we're done.
Absolutely, yes. And feel free to interrupt if there's. I'm going to try to keep an eye on the Q and A, but if there's any questions that come in through the chat that I've missed or even in the Q and A, just let me know. No worries at all about interacting. We're just working together.
Absolutely. Let's just have some fun.
Great. Welcome everyone. Thank you so much again for your time. I know it's a little bit later in your part of the world in India. It's very awesome that you are taking the time in your evening to join us. I'm going to show you the five step blueprint to creating online courses for with Thinkific and let's get started again. If you have any questions, pop them into the chat, pop them into the Q and A. And between Avi and I and the rest of the team, we will do our best to answer your questions. I'm going to go through my presentation and we'll have hopefully some time at the end to do some questions as well. If we missed it during the presentation.
Just one announcement that there are a lot of people on the Facebook group. So if there are any questions which are missed, you can come into the Facebook group. Ratha has been kind enough to join the Facebook group as well. So if anything gets missed on the chat, you can come into the Facebook group later as well.
Yeah, I'm going to I'll join after our webinar today. I'm going to pop into the Facebook group. Thanks for inviting me in there and I'll absolutely be spend some time this afternoon and tomorrow morning answering some questions. I'll pop in over the weekend too. So let me know if you have any questions. Okay.
Over to you.
Great. Thank you so much. All right, so we're gonna get started, but do stay to the end. I know your time is precious, but do stay to the end to learn about how you can get exclusive access to a great bonus we put together for you. So your time is precious, but please, please do stay to the end. We put something together for you to help you get going with your course building. Who am I? I thought a little bit of an introduction. I know Avi's been so wonderful in letting you know who I am. I am a customer champion. I work directly with our with our customers. I answer questions, hop on calls with them. I've also created dozens of courses, training courses for our customers. I have put on and presented and hosted lots of webinars and even live group coaching. And I've introduced tons of new users to the thinkific platform. I even have a couple of good friends who are course builders, successful course builders on thinkific. I'm so proud of them and I love talking about them. I'm sure I'll mention them during our presentation. Okay, this is what we're going to cover today. We're going to cover about the why you should create an online course to grow your business. We're going to go over the what you need just so that you can be confident moving forward. Who an example of how to use your courses to grow your business and the how see how you can create an online course easily with thinkific. And we will go into more about what thinkific is and how you can use thinkific to build your online courses as well. And just some housekeeping. Yes. Pop your questions into the chat, into the Q and A box. I'll also be on the social, the social media public, the Learn social media public group later on today, tomorrow and over the weekend too. I'm going to be a member, so I'll be happy to answer any questions about thinkific. But I'm here now and let's use the Q and A box and we'll do our very best to answer the questions that you have. Who is this training for? This is for you. This training though, is for anyone who wants to help more people without trading time or money or hiring more staff. So you want to help more people with the expertise you have or the skills that you have, then this is for you. You also already have expertise as a freelancer, a life coach, a consultant, author, speaker, you have a podcast. You're a service provide, even if you are an excellent cook and you have great budgeting skills and you can put great meals, great healthy meals out to your family for cheap and you know how to do that well. And you know your friends always come to you and ask you for tips and advice. That's an indication that you might be able to put a course on. Same thing if you're just, you know, if you're working in an office and everyone comes to you for questions about Excel, maybe you can put an Excel course together. So if you're unsure of what course or what topic you're going into, think about what people are coming to ask you about. You're a content creator, you have a blog, a podcast, you have a channel on YouTube and you're looking for an effective way to monetize. If this sounds like you, then this is who the training is for. So my goal today is I'm going to show you how to grow your business with online courses. And just because you think you might not be ready or you might not have the skill, really, we have course creators who are teaching everything from how to make vegan cheese, how to decorate cakes, food photography, to even more traditional courses like esl, language courses, math courses. There's also weight loss courses. There's such a wide range of courses. We even have a course creator. We're going to talk about her later. She does hula hoop courses and she's so successful with doing that. So the variety of courses and the variety of course builders we have really makes me believe that I'm going to show you how to grow your Own business with online courses. I really do believe anyone can put a course on. So why should you create an online course? So before we go into it, let's talk about the challenges a person may face when your business is growing. Now this is a good problem. It's great that your business is growing. However, you run into a problem really quickly once your problem, when your business is growing. And this again, it's a good problem. But there's only so many people to help during the day and you only have so much time to help people in the day. So when you trade your money for time, you're sorry. When you trade your time for money, you can run out of it quickly. You can't clone yourself, there's only one of you. And yes, you can work 16 hour days, 20 hour days to help more people and continue to grow your business. And you may need to do that at the beginning anyways, but it's not a sustainable practice. And your partner, your kids may not be happy with you working 20 hours a day. And you probably won't be happy either. Less effective in helping your people and your business. So this is not a sustainable practice. So you got three options. When your business is growing and you're just running out of time, you're not able to help every person. You can raise your prices and you can also hire to help you. And of course you can always have a team. But the reality is these are not always the most sustainable practices. When you raise your prices, people are not going to be very happy. Now it really depends if they're still getting value from your product. Absolutely. Most people kind of accept that sometimes prices change. But if you drastically increase your prices, you may lose customers. It may just seem like you're just trying to make more money. Another option is hiring to help more. And that is great. You know, obviously Avi has a great team here. I work with a fantastic team. You know, Greg has put together a really cool, great team in Thinkific to help his businesses growing. However, there's still only one Avi. There's still only one you. You know, you may be the one providing the coaching services. And as much as you have a team to help you run the business, there's still people only want the coaching services from you. So raising your prices, hiring more people, you can do that temporarily, but I don't think it's very sustainable. So when your business is growing, another way to do it is to create leverage. You separate your time from people by creating a program that allows you to help more than One person at a time or at least separate your time from your ability to help your clients. Online courses give you the leverage you need to help serve more people. So an example I actually have of this is with Kim Garnett. She's a marketer. She works with a lot of our thinkific customers with marketing strategy and different marketing foundations. But she was finding that she was just too busy and not able to help everyone. And also she was finding I was able to, for example, afford her full consultation. So she decided she started thinking, what can I do to continue to grow my business and help more people and also perhaps even give access to some of my expertise and knowledge? Even if they can't fully afford my full, you know, consultation one on one, you know, my full marketing ability, they may just want like a few elements and learn. So she actually started putting creating online courses with thinkific. In this way she's able to reach more people all over the the world. So she's grown her business that way. She's also working with thinkific customers directly and she's also been able to help people who can't really afford her full suite of service, but they can definitely afford a few of her courses to get leveled up in any areas where they feel they're weak. So online courses help you grow your business. They give you a solid foundation for growing your business in the sense that it's free or low cost. They can help people at the start of their journey. They work well for partners too. So if you're starting to grow your online business and you start working with different people, you can send them one of your courses, make them an affiliate help as a way for them to share your product and your expertise. It's also a great way to offer something new new and also to qualify yourself new leads. Another alternative, another way to reach out to more people, your market as well is, you know, people get lots of worksheets, there's ebooks, there's video. There's so much free content out there. You can really learn. You know, you can learn in a shallow manner, I say, from a lot of the free content that's out there. But with a course, you can really curate an excellent learning experience and a great experience for your customer, for your prospective student, for your clients. This is a really great way to showcase your expertise and your skills and that you're able to create a great experience for them and that you really do care about their learning and their transformation. It's not just, oh, here's another download, you've actually Put an entire course together for them that may include a few downloads that will really help them with their journey, helps build more trust. You can showcase your expertise and your creativity and your professional experience too. And it also in Thinkific, it looks really polished. We'll show you some examples of how Thinkific looks on the inside to a student. But, you know, it really showcases that not only do you have the skills and the expertise, but that you're able to. That you are so skilled in your field or whatever you're passionate about that you're able to put together a comprehensive course to help transformation. Okay, so before we get going on to the five steps, I'm just gonna pop into the Q and A and see how many questions are going. Yes. So the question was, can we sell courses to people worldwide? Absolutely, you can. So a lot that your course will be online. And we don't block. We don't block IP addresses or location. Some countries do block us just for political reasons, such I think we're blocked in Egypt just, I think because of the word thinkific. The think. But we have no control over that. But otherwise, yes, you can teach to people all over the world. And we do have course graders who have students from everywhere. All right. Is Thinkific similar to teachable? Yes, we're very similar to teachable. I will absolutely go over some differences and some things that make Thinkific stand out. So stay tuned. Great question. What features does Thinkific have? No worries. I'm absolutely going to go cover. I'm going to cover this during our training today. And we'll go over some really cool features of Thinkific that will really help you with your course building and to create a great student experience. Thank you. I will absolutely speak louder. Vicki. Great feedback from me. Please let me know if I'm being too quiet, too loud, too fast. This is for you. This training is for you. And I really want to make sure you make you get the best use of our time together. Thank you, Vicki. Okay, we'll absolutely go over with the tools you'll need to build an online course. Thank you for the question, Sheikh. All right, great questions so far, everyone. Keep them coming. I'll do my best to hop in and we'll also spend some time afterwards. And again, I'll pop into the Learn social media public group to go over all of the. Any questions you have about thinkific as well. So the first. So we're gonna go through the five steps to creating and selling online courses successfully. This is something that, you know, it's not 100% guaranteed. I can't promise you that 100%. You do everything, you're gonna be successful right off the bat. But this is a formula, this is a process that has worked for a lot of our successful course creators. I'm gonna talk about them as we go through this, but these are the five steps to kind of help you organized and on track to building your first online course successfully. So the first thing you want to do is choose a topic. And I heard Avi asking all you wonderful people, what topic? What is your course about? This is exactly it. You really want to hone in on a great topic. So what constitutes a winning course topic? The first thing you want to be sure about is that you're passionate about the topic. You're going to be spending a lot of time building your course around this topic. That's just like the straight off thing. The reality is make sure you love it or you love helping people by sharing it. Teach what you know and what you are known for. Focus on outcomes and not means. Again, are people coming to you a lot with Excel questions? Are your coaching clients asking you the same questions? Do you really, do you really focus on certain levels of the learning process? Are you really good at helping people put resumes and get jobs together? So teach what you know and what you're known for. And by focusing on outcomes, not means. An example of that is, for example, sewing is a means to something. Sewing your first dress by yourself is an outcome. You become more self sufficient, confident enough that you can sew an entire dress. Making peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a snack that's pretty popular in Canada. I don't know if it's popular in India, but making yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is the means to something. However, learning to cook an entire meal by yourself is an outcome. You have created a healthy, delicious meal. Many steps. It's not just putting things on bread and eating it. Another thing to keep in mind with respect to a winning topic is evidence of market demand. We're going to go into this a little bit more. You want to ensure that you're creating and growing a healthy business. And you want to verify before you even build your course that there is a niche audience with a problem that you can solve with your online course and that this audience is willing to invest their time and money to solve that problem by learning from an online course. So winning topics encompass all of these things. Passion, expertise and evidence of market demand. So how do I get going on a topic? What I recommend is working on an Elevator pitch and formatting it in this exact manner. The reason why I say this is sometimes, you know, you have a million ideas or your idea might be a little bit too big and not quite focused yet. This is a really good way, this really good exercise to, to ensure and help ensure that your topic is really focused and that it actually is doing something for your audience. So I like to say I actually just write this down, I type this down and I fill in the brackets. My course on bracket topic helps audience learn how to outcome so that they can benefit. So what I like to do here is like for instance, if I have a course on cooking eggs. My course on cooking eggs helps busy professionals learn how to cook quick and healthy meals at home so they can save money and eat healthier. There's a clear topic here, cooking eggs. The niche audience is busy professionals. The outcome is quick and filling meals. The transformation is saving money, eating healthier. So I hope that helps with getting started on a topic. If you have your elevator pitch ready, let me know. We're gonna go through a few more examples and these are from course creators on Thinkific. Chris Newman. He has a cool course called Cinechopper University. My course on drone photography helps videographers learn how to offer drone video services so they can make their business stand out. Mimi G. I adore Mimi G. She's really created a huge empire. An excellent business helping people learn how to sew. But she's also created a membership site. So it's not just her teaching you how to sew, but you can join a membership. She offers patterns every month. So you learn how to sew different things, different items of clothing every month. And her membership is an excellent price. It's about fifteen twenty dollars. So it's monthly, you pay monthly, then you get all this awesome resources and learning in return. So she has a sew it academy. Just several courses, but one of her courses is my course on sewing helps DIY enthusiasts learn how to sew their own clothes so they can be more self sufficient. Jonathan Levi is another one of our awesome course builders. Very does very well. Helps a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot of people. He's very passionate about teaching and helping people. I've talked to him a few times. Very interesting person. His course on memory skills helps busy professionals and students learn how to learn more in less time so they can improve themselves faster. So that convoluted sentence basically means his course helps people learn more efficiently. Really cool. Really cool. Elevator pitches. So what's your winning topic? Pop it into the chat. I know Avi was asking about them. If you are concerned about it, let me know. I'm happy to take a look at your elevator pitch too. If you pop it into the Learn social media public group. I'll take a look at it later. You can also reach out to the Thinkific team. Attention Ratha. Just say Ratha. R A T H a. Can I ever have a look at this? I'm absolutely to help. You can reach out to ninjasinkific.com or supportinkific.com but pop it into the social media group. I'll be in there as well. And and if you're too shy, maybe we can set up a dm. But yeah, pop into the social media group. I want to see it. Pop into the chat and put your winning topic in. Put it in the full elevator pitch if you want. It's really cool to see that way. Hello everyone who's in the chat. So busy. Wow, everyone's so into. This is so exciting to see. I hope everyone's getting motivated. I know that you have the expertise and you have the skills and I know that people are coming up to you and asking you for help all the time. So keep those, keep those questions running in your head. Keep that activity going if you already have. If you're a life coach, if you're like a personal workout coach, if you teach esl, if you teach math skills, any of those, if you're a great cook, if you're a great budgeter, those are all skills that can be translated into a really excellent course to help people looking for answers to their questions. Okay, so the next step that I had mentioned earlier and we'll focus in on more now, is validating demand. You really want to find proof that your online course will sell to your ideal audience. Don't rely on hunches. Take the time to prove market demand. You don't want to spend a lot of, a lot of time and even a lot of money, a lot of your effort into putting this, you know, big huge course out and publishing it and then crickets and no one buys your course. I really don't want that to happen to you. You need to validate your course. I spoke with another course builder, his name is Dale Roberts. He teaches people how to self publish and the steps to go move forward with publishing your own work. And what he did was he actually had a goal to verify his his demand. He actually pre sold his course. So before he even created one lesson he pursued, he wanted to sell a thousand dollars worth of courses. So 10 courses and a hundred dollars. This is the cost of his annual Thinkific subscription. So a full year on Thinkific is a little bit under is about $948. He was like, I'm gonna validate my course. What did he do? How did he get there? How did he even sell this before, before he even got going on his. How did he even sell this before he got going on creating his course? How do you validate your topic? You know, this is everything that Dale Gill did and what another option and another thing as well is this is a what a lot of course creators do before they even put pen to paper. They want to validate their topic. So the first one is social media listening. Join communities that you're already that are already discussing your topic to determine demand. I spoke with a course builder this week, another course builder. She has courses on autism for parents with children with autism. So she's in a lot of like, you know, autism Facebook groups. Quora is a really excellent social media, really cool social media platform. It's a place where you can pick the topics that you, you are an expert in and then you can see that people are asking questions about specific topics. So you can hone in on the topic, see what questions people are asking and be like, hey, I have a course for you. I can help you with this question. You can even pose your own questions and see what responses people are or what questions people have for you. Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, follow hashtags and influencers forums, Reddit comments on blog posts. These are all ways that you can find out if people are, there's a demand for your topic. Start speaking to people, start joining the conversation and seeing what questions people have. Where are people stuck with what challenges they are facing? And this is a really good way to find out if there's a even a target audience and if your topic, what you want to build your course on will sell. Second one is ask your audience. Dale talk to his audience all the time. And so you know, research, review content trends, research your audience demographics surveys, find out what price point that your audience is willing to pay for. If you have a target audience that perhaps you know is more, you know, has a socioeconomic status or only earns a certain amount of money, they may not be able to purchase your course, your premium course for 2000, 3000, $4000. However, if your audience are professionals who can, you know, it's not an issue to do that then absolutely. But you will know this by researching and reviewing the demographics and Surveying them. You can even just ask questions to your group. Ask your audience what is your biggest challenge. And this is something that a lot of our course builders have done. They have a following, they have a Facebook group, they have a YouTube channel. And they literally just ask. I'm planning to create some training courses on this topic. What questions do you have? What is your biggest challenge? I'm actually going to talk about my friend super quickly. My friend James, he created, he had a YouTube channel, 100,000 subscribers, putting out free content. But people were starting to ask him questions. It was too many. So he actually just put it out there. Like what? You know, I'm getting a lot of feedback that everyone wants me to build a course. What should I build? And he found from this that he should definitely put on a course. And he actually found how to start his course. He found a way to differentiate himself. And that was everyone was teaching level one, level two, level three. So my friend James puts on guitar courses. I should definitely clarify that he puts on guitar courses. He was noticing a lot of his competitors were, you know, putting courses on that were level one, level two, level three, level four. So he decided, I'm gonna this a course for people at level zero. And in that way he's been able to capture anyone who doesn't have music theory, who is someone like me, completely new to music. My husband is a working musician, plays in several bands. And for me, I know nothing about music. So a level zero course is exactly what I need. And this goes to our next point with validating your topic. One way you can do this is competitor research. See what your competitors are doing. And that's what James did too. He asked his audience and then he also went and looked at what his competitors were doing and find a way. And he found a way to differentiate himself. You see that, you know, your competitor A is doing something. I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna show my case myself a little bit differently. It's also a good way to see, check out the reviews. If you look at any low reviews or any you see two, three, four star reviews, you can check those reviews and be like, okay, there's tons of room for improvement. My course will be that improvement. I will improve upon this and showcase that I can help these people with my courses over my competitors. Another option that you have to validate and I highly recommend you do this and you can absolutely get going in thinkific by doing this is setting up a pre sell landing page. Just set up a landing page, link it to a Checkout for your product and sell the topic here is an example of a pre sell landing page. So what you see here I like with landing page and I know Avi probably has tons of feedback and knowledge and expertise with more for marketing and building landing pages and how to attract and engage users. So check in with him too for more tips on that. And with landing pages. I love landing pages. I love building them and putting them together. It's one of my favorite things using thinkific to do that. But with this pre sale landing page, what I always like to recommend is put in a banner, you know, put what the course is about and a little bit of the information here. So this course right away use live streaming to grow and engage your audience confidentially. So use the heading, use the subheading, let people know. This is a pre sell. You can customize buttons in Thinkification and it says pre enroll now. And the course isn't even built yet. So what you can do in this course is pop an email into the students when they sign up for it, thank them. Thank you for buying the course. The course starts in one month. It starts in two weeks. I will email you in two weeks once the course is ready. And that's a great way. But you can pre sell your landing page. And if people start buying the course and this is what Dale did, he put together a landing page and then just let it, and then just put it out there, let his audience know and people were purchasing his course before he even putting, before he even built his first lesson. So you know, create a. Describe what your course is about. Always describe what your course is about on a landing page. This particular one instead of more text, we've broken out into icons and absolutely you can build landing page in Thinkification comes with a home page and every course comes with a landing page that you can build as well. I'm going to go into. I'll just give you a quick look at my site. So this is my, this is my demo site. So I do apologize it's not 100% perfect, but you can have a look here. So this is my homepage. With Thinkific you can build a homepage and each course comes with its own landing page. So absolutely you can build that with Thinkific and do sign up and we have a special bundle for you. We can actually go into more details about pre selling your course. Let's meet Dori Clark. She is someone who is a course builder. She had just published a new book which was a huge success. It was one of the top leadership books of 2015. Now actually, before we meet Dori Clark, I'm just going to hop into the chat, I'm sorry, into the Q and A. Just make sure there's no burning questions coming out here. Do you offer course creator web tools and are there free with thinkific? We put together a great package for you. So stay to the end, Rajesh, and we'll let you know how you can get started with course building tons of great features and tools so that you can absolutely get started immediately. Get going on building your course, publishing it and marketing it and we'll outline some of the tools that you would get as well. Yes, absolutely. You can sell your course through Thinkification. You can link your landing page, I think in India Stripe is not available so you will have to find an external payment processor that works for you. But there's definitely tons of options to enroll students once they've paid an external payment processor and I'll even outline more details and the package that we set up definitely gives you a good start in getting on in your course building. Working on a name is very tough, Prasanjeet. And I'm sorry if I'm saying your name incorrectly. That is something that you will have to definitely work on. But perhaps pop into the Learn Social Media public group and they can and there's going to be feedback and help there. We'll definitely get to charges and rates. Okay. Great personal development. Sounds like it could be an absolutely great course. Thank you so much for that question.
Just sorry to interrupt just for one minute, boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen. Many of you people came in a little later after the introduction was made. We have a Facebook group called Learn Social Media with Avi Arya. My team is going to put in the link over there. You're very welcome to ask these questions, but I'm telling you that Ratha just about gotten started. She's got all the features, all the excitement built in. So you can hang on your questions for now because by the end of it you'll have all your questions answered in the chat here. Anything gets missed. Ratha has been kind enough to join our Facebook group Learn Social Media so she can continue the questions over there as well. And I just wanted to say just feature one person, one young entrepreneur at the end of this webinar. Stay till the very end. We're giving away three GaryVee books for people who stay till the very end. We're going to be giving away three Gary Vee books. And I also wanted Priyank Jain, who's a young entrepreneur to come in the very end and ask his questions. So it's going to be very interesting. Stay tuned. Hang on with your questions. You can put it in the group. Ratha's got something amazing planned for you.
We do. Thank you so much, Avi. Yes. For anyone who just joined late, I'm Ratha Song and with Thinkific we're talking about how you can create online courses and how you can grow your business with online courses. So let's talk about Dori. She is a course builder who's definitely scaled and grown her business with online courses. She had just published a new book which was a huge success. She knew she wanted to create an online course, but she had made mistakes in the past when assuming that people would want from previous books. She had put courses out there and didn't validate her course topic. And so she says, should I do this? Should I do this? So she decided I'm going to do something different. And so she sent out a survey to her email list. What is your single biggest professional challenge right now? Her answer was the answer that she received was becoming a recognized expert in the industry they worked in. And no worries if you don't have an email list or a following. This is when you can start leaning on social media, go to the groups, use your network. So this is what we had talked about in the previous slide with the social media listening, Facebook groups, forums, Reddit, all of that. It's a great way to start growing and leaning and lean on that for now. So Dori then reached out to her ideal student who responded and asked them specifically. So she honed it down, she did a huge survey and then she honed it down to some of the respondents. And what she did then she reached out to her ideal students, responded and asked them to look at a one page description of what the course would cover and asked the students if they would pre purchase this at a cost of 500 down from 2,000. So she initially wanted her course to be $2,000. She actually had respondents from 15 people and five said they would purchase the course. And so she was like, that's great for me. If five people are going to purchase the course, I'm going to go for it. So this is what she did. She outlined, she created a course title, she created an outline and initial price the course on a topic as well. She followed this up by feedback. She created a sales page and then launched a sales page to her audience and then got the feedback from her students. She then once she launched it to her students. She got that feedback back. She actually pre sold her course. So she had a $500 enrollment and she prepared sold her course for a total of $22,500. This is an hour from launching her course, and she hadn't even built the first lesson yet. She had just put out a landing page, connected it to a payment processor, honed in on the topic and of course the surveying, and just asked people, would you buy this course? And they did. So make me a promise. Yes. Give yourself permission to invest time and energy into creating a stellar course. But do not commit to creating a course without validating that people want it. Do not spend months, thousands of dollars create something that you have not proven there is demand for. Like Dori did. Get at least five people, five to 10 people to confirm that they want to learn from you, that there's. That they want to. That they will purchase this course. So do what Dory did. Send a big survey out, send it to everyone. People who respond, send them more specific questions, Send them a more detailed outline of what your course will be about. And would you buy this course? The next step in creating and selling your online course successfully is creating lessons. So once Doria sold her course, she had to, you know, deliver on her promise and put. Put an online course together. So keep in mind when you're creating your lessons for your course. This is one of my favorite parts. I'm a psych student, psych major. I love learning how people learn. And so why do people buy online courses? Coaching, training, consulting, any, you know, why are people buying this? They usually it's because that they have a problem then they need to solve and a result that they desire. This is why I take online courses. I take online courses quite a bit. I write and blog in my spare time, more just for fun. But I do, you know, want to hone my skills in that and get better. I also do lots of. I'm starting to do mentoring with refugees and immigrants to this country as well. And I have to hone up my skills. So I take online courses and it's exactly for this reason. I have a current reality. I'm right here, but I want to learn more. That's where I see myself. I see myself there in the future. How do I get there? To get from their current reality to their desired future, they're looking for a shortcut. How do you create that transformation? You start from the current reality. I'm sorry, you start from the desired future and then you work backwards. And so this is how you can start building the lessons from your course. What is the end result that this course will solve and then work backwards from there. Here's an example for you that we can start identifying major milestones. These can be chapters in your course. An example would be a new grad to getting a career or their first job and so sorry a little bit. So what you can do then when you're a new grad, think about it, you do resume. There's social media applications, oh there's so much networking, the interview. So all of these steps to getting your first job or to building out or getting your first career, these major milestones and the steps towards that can be thought of as chapters. And with Thinkific you can have one course that is built up of several chapters, as many chapters as you want. And every chapter is full of, contains lessons, video, quiz, PDF presentation, audio files, assignments, things like that. So lessons can be outlined similar to chapters in that way. So we go back to the previous slide. You can see that the first step in all of this is the resume building. So if you click, if you hone in on resume building as your first chapter, what lessons can go into that? And we can go into to templates. You know, we could talk about the resume. No resume, bad resume to good resume. So you start how do you help someone build out their resume? This is actually something I have to work with with the people I mentor. And you know, you want to provide templates, examples of COVID letters, you know, putting a first draft, feedback. You're able to do this all in a course and able to collect this all into a chapter. So the resume chapter can include templates, you know, some follow up an assignment, submit your resume for review. But that's one way in the one chapter for resume building can be broken out. So again you want to start with identifying the major learning milestones to get from your journey of new grad to new career. And then each chapter can be broken down into outlining lessons. Creating content. I love creating content. I built courses as well for our customers on Thinkific. You'll have access to some of them. Stay tuned for that package that we've been talking about. But creating content. We recommend the following and these are all available. Either we have suggestions to help you and and you can actually add these lessons into Thinkific. But a really great lesson type that we absolutely encourage is video. Even if it's just a quick video welcoming students to the course, it's a great way to add familiarity and to show your face. We recommend five to seven minute Videos and just nice short and simple. The brain works in that it learns best in short chunks. So don't throw a bunch of info at your students. Do it in short chunks. Facilitate practice. Don't just present a bunch of info. Why and what. Show the how and facilitate the practice. We have downloadable templates. There's assignment lessons in Thinkific, workbooks, worksheets. You can do quizzes. Allow students to engage with all of this. Facilitate practice, let them engage, you know, learn, teach them the content and then give them the time and the space to actually interact with the material just taught. I mentioned quizzes. Quizzes are a great way for students to check in and make sure that they're learning the material. And you can absolutely add a quiz in Thinkific. You can make it a passing grade. You can also make it so that they have to complete the passing grade before they can even complete the course. Fun things like that. And also on social media plans, you can create randomized quiz questions. So let's say you have a hundred questions. There's only 10 questions in the quiz. It can be a random quiz so that every student receives a different quiz. Include discussions in your in your courses and you can add a lesson, a discussion to every lesson in thinkific. This is a way to facilitate discussions for students to ask questions. We also have a community feature in thinkific, works very similar to a Facebook group. It would be all contained within Facebook and it's a space for your students to again, ask questions, facilitate more discussion. If there's something that's really tough or challenging them, they can post that either in the discussion which is to the lesson, or you can create a full community for your students so they can really dive into the subject and really get on their way to their transformation. So this is how Thinkification looks to students. Students will have, they'll have, you can. And there's tons of new features to add as well. You can add a logo to this, you can change the colors of the background, but this is how it looks. Students will click the, click the continue button down here to get going on their lessons. But it's super easy. They would just log in and get going on that courses. And you can add video, PDF, presentation, audio files. You can add a text lesson that includes video and audio and PDF all in one. Tons of options to build a really great experience for your students. And so that is how thinkific looks. So what equipment do you need? I know there's been some questions about that. And the equipment that you need right now is really this Is Deanne Love. She creates courses on hula hooping in Thinkific. Hula hooping. Who knew that you could create courses on hula hooping and people would buy them? You know, who knew Deanne, she put courses. She put videos on YouTube, just videos on YouTube of her hula hooping. And then she started getting feedback. Whoa. I really like what you're doing. Can you teach me? I want to learn. I want to be fit like you. She was promoting health and exercise through hula hooping. And so how did she get started? She really started with. With her phone. I don't have my phone on me. But she had her phone and she was recording video from that. She just had a laptop, tablet and she was ready to go. So you're probably almost ready to get set up. There are some things I do definitely do recommend. Make sure you have a really good mic or audio. You don't have to spend a lot of money, a hundred dollars or less, you can get yourself a really good quality mic. We have some suggestions. Pop your questions into the media social media group later and I can link you to some blog posts on Thinkific that suggest certain equipment and software to help you with your course building. But I do recommend a good mic so that the audio quality comes through. I've tested this lots of times. I don't have audio or a good mic to capture my audio. You can sound weak and not strong and assertive. And that's really something you want to be sure of, is that you sound confident as you're presenting your lesson. I also recommend things like Loom, for instance. Screen recording. You can record exactly everything that's going on your screen. I use this with customers to send videos to them. I also have used Loom to build courses in Thinkific. If you're doing a lot of things that need that require the student to see what's on your screen, recommend Loom. It's free and you can do minor edits as well. So, you know, start with your laptop, start with your phone. I also recommend a little HD camera. I'm using a webcam right now. It's Logitech and it's not very expensive. So you can don't spend thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars. Get started with just yourself, your laptop, you know, you have an assistant to help. That's great. But really you can get going on your course creation and your content creation with the features that we have in Thinkific and also yourself. Video, laptop and phone. Get going. Yeah. Microphone, microphone, microphone. Always you get a really Good microphone. It really makes a huge difference. And even if you're doing one on one coaching with anyone, your microphone as you're speaking with people can really help you to just come out strong. So they're not cranking the volume on their, on their laptop. So keep your content focus simple and remember, you can iterate it over time, which means you can change it once you start, once you launch your course. This is what Dori did. She launched it. She got feedback from all the people who tested her course. That feedback helped her to refine and make her course even better. So that the beta testers, yeah, they tested it for $500, but based on their feedback, she was very confident at pricing her her course at $2,000 because she knew based on that people wanted it. And based on the feedback, she made it even better. So done is better than perfect. Yes. You want to make sure you're not putting out, you know, shoddy quality. You don't want to put anything out. That is, that is not helpful. That is really just about taking people's money. Absolutely. You don't want to go there, but do spend some, you know, keep it simple, keep it focused and keep the quality high level for your students. So the next lesson and the next step is building the course. Especially if you, if you've said, if you've pre sold your course and people have bought it, deliver on that promise. Nothing will shut you down faster than not delivering, especially after people have paid you money. All right, so how is everyone feeling? Is everyone getting excited? I'm seeing the comments. There's tons of really, really good comments and people seem to be really excited. Do you think you can be successful as a course builder? Do you think that you have the expertise, the passion, the grit, the winning topic? Do you think you can do this? I know some of you are feeling overwhelmed. That's okay. We have a great package for you. I will absolutely share it with you very, very, very, very, very soon. And not only will you, you know, get the tools to build with course building, but you'll get lots of help along the way from our team. So I will share this with you. Okay? Absolutely. But first, remember, please promise me that you will not commit to creating a course without validating it and that you will, you know, as long as you validate your course. Do not spend months and months and thousands of dollars. I don't want you to spend all that time and energy and hear. So get the five people to confirm that they want to learn. And we talked about validating, speak to your social media communities. Put your email, your list, survey them, listen to them, speak with them, be in direct contact with them. Every course builder that I have spoken with has let me know that they are in close communication with their email list, with the audience they're at. If, if it's, you know, they're either on video, they're in person, they're popping in into the Facebook groups. If there's any opportunity to meet their audience or their prospective students face to face, they do it. They're in close contact because they tell me that their audience is. They basically tell them what courses they need and what help they need. So it's just a great resource for you. An online course can serve as a strong foundation for your marketing strategy, but keep in mind that your audience sustainable reoccurring customers is way better than trying to attain new customers. So create a great experience for them, but validate, speak to your audience, stay close with them. All right, so we can go through this really quick case study. They, you know, I can send you more details about them in the Facebook group as well. Just we're running short on time. But they basically did what Dori did. They did lots of research. You know, they had an award winning podcast. People were reaching out to them, wanting more. So they started putting out free content and the free content was really great. And they started filtering people through some from free content and they started reaching out to them. So what they did was this is John Lee Dumas and his partner Kate Erickson. They had a great podcast. It's called An Entrepreneur's on Fire. They really want to help people run their own businesses, so check them out. But what they did was they generated thousands of leads and over $50,000 in revenue from a single free course. And this is a formula that's worked really well for other course builders as well. So they first they validated their course topic and ensured that there was market demand. They had an engaged audience, they got that validation. So they went with the next step. They then outlined their course and created their content. And they created their course in thinkific. They set up a free course, free and a landing page. The course is simple and straight to the point. And then they launched it to their audience and they started marketing. But how does a free course really lend users to a hot, you know, how do they purchase? So at the start of the journey you can see that they have ungated free content. Then in the middle you get to the course with an upsell and that is a great way to do it. So in the course there's an upsell for anyone finishing the course and there's a follow up for anyone who finished the course as well. Then if someone engaged with the emails, they would absolutely follow up with them with a paid course. So at the start of the journey, ungated free content and partners, lots of ads, blog posts, podcasts. In the middle you get the free course. So it's a free course, a great way to hook people. Here's my expertise, here are my skills, I'm gonna give it to you. Here's something for a little bit of something. And inside the course were upsells to the paid course. And then after they followed up with email and hooked more people in that way as well. So you want to start off with free, lots of ungated content, ungated meaning that they don't have to sign up or anything. And then lead them into the warm stage, lending them to your free course. Because you capture their, you do have to sign up, you capture their email and all that great stuff. Then you go into a paid course. So this could be a journey for students and prospective students to your courses. So we're gonna, I would definitely check into Learn Social Media Public Group for more tips on marketing. Avi's the man, he's the expert here and he's the one sharing his knowledge. But you know, as a high level, you want to repurpose content to help you online. Sorry. To help sell online courses, you want to earn qualified leads. That's one what Dory did, that's what EO on Fire did. They also create a content for partners and they build leverage and trust. So this is all going to help you market and sell more. So I'm going to show you how to grow again. I hope this is the goal. I'm going to show you how to grow your business with online learning. And how. What, what are you going, how are you going to do this? What tool? I've talked about thinkific. I'm obviously a part of Thinkification and There's lots of LMSs out there. But with Thinkific you will get the following and so much more. You can easily create and customize courses to match your brand. Build and design a website effectively to effectively sell your courses. You go to homepage. Every course comes with a landing page that you can build out. We never touch your money at any time. We allow you to set up with any payment processor you wish so that you get paid for your courses. You can do bulk student emailing, you can bulk enroll students. There's drip content, affiliate reporting, email integrations, zapier integrations, private and hidden courses which are really great if you have any confidential materials or you're working with businesses that don't want any incompetent any information to be shared. You have white labeling, advanced pricing options, payment plans, subscription and you can also create memberships and bundles all with thinkific. I love thinkific. I love online learning. I'm so passionate about it. One of the reasons why I love being here, you know, this early in the morning is to show you how you can really get going on your course building. So the typical course, you know, someone mentioned one of the attendees. I'm sorry, I forgot, I didn't catch your name. Some of the typical costs, they were saying that their website costs were enormous. And you know, typical cost is if you're having a land like if you were doing all this separate stuff, it could be quite a lot of money. And this is recurring. You're paying this every month. It's hundreds of dollars. That's $4,000 annually. It's just a lot. And it seems overwhelming just to be able to put some courses on. Creating valuable content is just the beginning but you need to find the right tool to help you deliver. And I totally agree with John and Kate here. So what we've done is we've put together an exclusive package for everyone here. Really appreciate your time. I know we're to going a little bit over but thank you. This is really excellent. Put together a great package for you. We put together the Pro and Growth plan just because I know you are all based in India and you can't take payments with stripe. I think for a lot of you, I think it's in beta there. But with the Pro and Growth plan you're open to all the options for using an external or third party payment processor and enrolling your students into the course. If you need more exact information about this, reach out, let me know. I can absolutely help you set up a payment processor and make sure that you're good to go and you get paid for your courses but we're giving you, you know that we're going to get you the pro and growth plan so you can try this out. You're going to get the online education masterclass. So when you sign up to thinkific, you don't just get signed up and like here you go, you're going to get a whole suite of training courses and one of the training courses is the online education business masterclass. I run a coaching course based on this course as well. It's created by my good colleague Erin Morin and it really helps you kind of focus in on some of the topics we brushed on today. Finding the right topic rapidly, creating content and marketing and selling consistently. So I definitely, definitely, definitely recommend signing up just even for this masterclass. You'll also get touch base on the student experience and what to put on a sales page. So I highly recommend it because you'll get this co creating courses. Some great feedback from someone who took the course. I've taken it a million times. It's really brought my just Aaron put it on. I'm so thankful he did because it's leveled me up a lot. We'll also give you expert led training courses so again you get a full suite of training courses to get you going your course building. Not only do we show you how to use thinkific, but we'll show you how to take your online business to the next level and how to really capture those features and create a great student experience. Dr. Kerry Rose is one of our thinkific experts and she has put a course about creating more engagement in your lessons. Happy students are successful students and successful students are more likely to tell their friends and repurchase and purchase another course. So engagement really helps you with that because if students complete the course, they're more likely to achieve the goal that they had been looking to achieve and so successful again, engaged course students are successful students and successful students are more likely to tell other people about your course and to purchase another course from you. This is how our course looks. Lots of good feedback from the course. Dana Melstaff is an awesome course creator as well and she even found the learning was valuable. We're also going to get you on an onboarding call with a launch specialist. So what this means is when you sign up, you'll get a link to hop on a call with myself or one of my colleagues. It'll be a 30 minute call. We'll do a video call so that we can connect and share screen but we can go through any questions you have about using thinkific and we'll also send you a review checklist and a concierge migration package if you need help. If you're already on an LMS, we can help you move over to Thinkific. This is worth $699. It's almost worth $700. But it's okay. You'll get tons of end to end support again. You get an onboarding call, you get a review checklist. A review checklist is great. It is extensive but it covers everything. You need to check that your site is ready to go and your course is ready to launch. Our support team is number one. I think if you look, if you join our Facebook group you'll see this. If you even google us versus other. I know there was a question about other LMSs. What makes Thinkific stand out? Is there Excellent, excellent, excellent support. I work, I was actually taught. I had dinner with few of my colleagues last night from different teams and one thing we actually brought up was how the support team of which I'm a part of really cares about our customers and we really care about helping people go through any challenges or issues they're facing or even just help them use Thinkific. So you'll get all of this. It's worth almost a thousand dollars. You'll get migration services if you need it. You get this checklist, an onboarding call, all those training courses I mentioned and the Pro and growth plan. Your investment today is. It's a free trial. I am absolutely happy to send you over a free trial so you can get started on thinkific and get going on your course building. You have nothing to lose. Nothing to lose. Let me pop the link into. We put a package here, have a look at. I'm going to pop it into the chat, have a look at the link. But this is what you'll get. It's a 30 day free trial. You have really nothing to lose and I think and you have access to all of the features available on the Pro and growth plan. Everything I had mentioned previously with all the features that we had, you have access to that. You have 30 days to try out thinkific think it's a great amount of time to get your first course started, build your landing page and get set up with your payment processor and get going on your course building. We really want you to get started. You have nothing to lose with this 30 day free trial. But think about what the potential you have if you just took it. Think if I can.
Awesome guys. I told you that we're going to get you something Very, very special. Like I said, Vancouver is my second home. Vancouver is where thinkific is born. Vancouver is where I've got amazing friends like Greg Smith, Ratha Song, Rob, Emily, all of these guys. So we've been making this happen for the last many months to say, you know what, what can we do for our audiences in India? And Ratha and Rob and Emily and all of these people got together and Ratha said, I'll take the lead. Let's bring some fantastic, let's give everything away to your audience and let them build their online courses. But I said hang on, let me start selling my courses. In the last few months we sold by the way on Thinkific, we sold 5,100 courses in the last three months.
That's amazing.
I want to go with a humongous case study and then launch this thing. A lot of people are saying it's949 but it's absolutely free for our trial and all of that. That absolutely free for all of you people. It's a 30 day trial. We put this special bundle together for the Learn Social media and Askabi Arya community. I want all of you people to take advantage. Ratha's an amazing human being and I'm sure she's always going to be like this. But before she changes her mind, grab that link and do that free sign up and you've got nothing to lose. And I think we'll take some questions. I'm going to go off, give Ratha good 5, 10 minutes and then come back and announce something even more special after this. Ratha, over to you. I'll come back in about 10 minutes.
Awesome, thanks so much. I'm going to pop into some of the questions. There are lots, I'll go through them as quickly as I can. So yes, this is a free trial. You have a 30 day free trial. I'm sure you have questions about the cost after all of this. So the cost for this is again, you have a 30 day free trial. Nothing to lose, so much to gain. Go for it and start testing out Thinkific and seeing how it works for you. If you have any questions because I understand stripe is not available in India. No worries, reach out and we have tons of resources to help you get set up with the payment processor that works in India and then how to get your students into enrolled in their courses. So yes, I'm going to pop the link again into the chat and go through some of the questions that we have. All right, great. So I answered some of the questions already about pricing. I hope that helped answer it. Let me know. Darmand I really ask anyone who is I'm not sure. I have a few topics in mind. You know what, grab this package and then take the Business Online Master the Online Education Business masterclass course run by Erin and what the class will do is again it'll go through choosing a topic, some exercises and really hone in, help you hone in on your course topic and then the end solution. And it also will cover marketing and selling. So anyone who has questions about like how do I get started, how do I create courses, how do I market it? Really sign up and take advantage of the training courses that are available because they do outline a lot of this. We don't that's a great that's a great suggestion about a lifetime deal. I don't think we have any feedback on that, but I'm going to capture your feedback, Santosh, and I'm going to definitely share it with the team and see if we've had any conversations on a lifetime deal. You absolutely can sign up for an annual plan on Thinkific or a monthly version. So I would absolutely go for the annual plan if it works for you. After you try out the 30 days and you're like I love thinkific. The annual plan works is you pay up front for the year, but it works out to be about 20% discount over the monthly version. Great. Some really good elevator pitches here. Really cool to see. Yes. So there's some question here about online security and course content. That is absolutely a big concern for anyone putting content online now it's really, it's almost impossible really to prevent piracy. And if someone really wants to record or copy your content, they really they might just do it people. But on the whole I find that most people are honorable and Dune will not pirate. And there's tons of ways you can tons of things you can do to help discourage piracy. One thing I always recommend is watermark your content, watermark Your videos, your PDFs, put your logo somewhere on there. It can help discourage sharing. And even if your content does happen to be shared, at least you will always receive credit for it. So find ways if you need help. I'll hop onto the Social Learning Media Group afterwards. But if you need some help with that, I can find some content for you online. A quick Google search of how do I watermark videos can help us that as well. I know it's a and there's things on Thinkific that we've done to help with online with content security. You can prevent Writing right clicking for example, or right clicking scanning on certain pages and we've also removed. You can also remove downloads if needed on any of your content. So anyone who has questions about marketing your course and whatnot, I really think pop into avi's Learn social media public group. Pop into there. I think he's just going to be the man to help teach you about how to help with marketing and whatnot. I also recommend again signing up for the signing up for the deal and for the promo and really just honing in on those training courses which outline everything from course building all the way to marketing and selling. So personality Swarnlata Singh that's you know, it could be a good course. I think you just really need to work on your elevator pitch and your course topic so it's really clear who your personality development course will be for like the audience, what is it that they will learn this personality development course and how it can help them in their life. So I think you just need to clarify a bit on that. But you could be well on your way to finding a great course topic. Taking the plunge Help people live a full life than being a victim of circumstances. So some good course topics coming from through. I really do think again hone in, really narrow in and define that course topic and make sure that you have a niche audience, that there is an outcome and that there is a transformation and the learning that is done. Make sure that it is very clear who, what, where, why and all of that that they're like why should someone take this course? They will learn this and is that person taking the course? Great. Wow, you guys have been really busy. Hope you guys listened. We don't have so there's a question about landing page templates. We don't have built in templates with Thinkific you get default sections and you can add new sections to your landing pages and remove sections and each section you can add photos, templates. There's a bunch of different sections that can be added to your landing pages if you sign up with the great promo that we have going on. There's tons of resources to get you going with building your landing pages and we have a knowledge base and it's a library for our customers to research and find all the help guides that they need to get Build landing pages. Yes. So absolutely you can build landing pages in Thinkific if we go to I have my courses linked but this is a landing page that I've built in Thinkific. Oh sorry. I'm my demo site is not the best right now because I've been demoing a lot on it. But I'll update it. I'll show you all later. Great. So question about Udemy. We're not like Udemy at all. Think if it's is an lms, you can create your own courses. You market your own courses. So we're not a marketplace. With Udemy, it's a marketplace. You don't have control over your student data, your audience. All that goes to Udemy and it can be a good place to start. But I don't. We're different in the sense that you have full control over your business and the revenue and the pricing of your course. Udemy is a marketplace and you do forfeit some control over your business. A lot of control over your. Over your business. So that you can market your course for you. Great. I'll speak with. I'm not sure if there's a replay after. If anyone on Avi's team can let us know. I'm pretty sure there would be a replay. Avi, is there a replay of the presentation for anyone who needs it? Yes, there will be a replay sent.
There will be a replay. Absolutely. And everything will be available on the Learn social media with ABHI Arya Group. We'll have a replay there. We send it out on email and everything. And yes, I want to bring on a special guest. He's a young entrepreneur who's been working very hard and he's now creating his online course. His name is Priyank Jain Grim. Can you bring on Priyank? Because every time we feature one or two people on video and we wanted to have Priyank actually come on video and ask you a question.
Yeah, absolutely.
Okay. Bringing on Priyank. Yeah. Agrim. Can you just give him access? Ratha, this has been fantastic. I saw how people were like what Free trial with all of those things. That's the reaction that we all wanted to see.
Yes. I'm super excited for everyone. I really think again, 30 days. Just take. Take the chance and really just start focusing and. And you know what? Focus on one course and one landing page. Don't start. I need six courses. I really want to get everything. Absolutely. You will get there. But let's focus on one course, one landing page and getting that out there first and see how that goes. Okay, I think we have. Can you remind me of your name again?
Priyank.
Priyank. Hi, Priyank.
So can you guys hear me?
Yes.
Hi. So let me just introduce myself in a couple of sentences. My name is Priyank. And I'm proud to be from the Jain community. And my parents have instilled in me the values of empathy and self confidence from a very young age. And I started out as a vlogger on YouTube, but now I have my own personal branding and a marketing consulting age. And rata, I must tell you, I've been listening to the complete webinar. The insights that you've given, the value that you've given in this webinar is like a course in itself. You've literally given from the start to the end. You know, you've given everything.
Thank you. I really hope so.
Yeah, I really appreciate it. And I could see in the, in the comments that people understood and learned a lot from this. My question to you is very simple. What would it take? I mean, I'm gonna start my own online course. I'm gonna launch my online course. And when I see Avi Arya and you, I mean, Avi Arya used such a platform, I trust him so much, I'm gonna blindly just join. But my question here is, what would it take for me to reach six or seven figures with my online coaching business? I mean, online course business.
Yeah. You know, we definitely have course builders who are making tons of money, like Jonathan Levi. Six, seven figures, I can't divulge the exact figures. And even, even my good friend James is able to take care of all of his monthly bills. Like he has a new baby and wife and just bought a new home. And it takes, you know, I will say it takes a lot of work. We've, we've seen a lot of course builders get started and it may take some time. You know, like my friend James, he's been on the platform for about three years and it's. So it took him that long to get to the point where now his monthly bills are, you know, he's not making hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars, but he's making a comfort. It gets comfortable. He still teaches guitar lessons face to face and in person. But his online courses have really given him freedom in that he knows that his monthly bills are taken care of. So I think what it will take, and I can, if you pop into the social, the Learn social media public group, I can see if I can find some case studies of like the top, most successful course builders.
I think we have a live case study right in front of us. I think online course business.
Yeah. But I think it really does take a lot of work and people think it's a side hustle. And I really say focus on the Hustle more than anything. Don't think of it as passive income yet because you won't get there probably for a few years. Even think of it. It really is a lot of work. And the reality is that you may fail the first time, that you may put your course out. And it's not. When I say fail, that can be very subjective. It's not that you might not get as many sales as you had hoped for or it may be a little bit slower than you had expected. And that's really okay, I really think take the feedback survey people find out continuously. Just try to refine and really focus on what people are looking for, what topics that they are really searching for, what help they are really needing. Really listen to your prospective students, to your list, to your group. Really really listen to them. I think that can really help you clarify and help with the path of like what courses and how I can and how you can use your skills and expertise to really help people. You know, you could be really excellent at something, the best person in the world, but if no one really wants help in it and you build a course, it doesn't really matter. However, if you really listen to someone and if you're still really great at that skill, that's awesome. And if you really listen to someone, like my friend James, really listening to some feedback and he's like, I don't need to make another level one course, I need to make a level zero course. And it's really helped him kind of get a firm footing. So that's just an example. So yeah, there's not one formula, Priyank, that I can tell you, like, this is what you must do. I think I can definitely share some case studies and what other people have done and I hope that even with this training it has shown what the process that people have gone through in creating a successful course to help them create a successful online business. I really think follow the process, verify your topic, get the feedback, refine, refine and. And really that's it. And with marketing especially, you're a marketer, you know way more than me about this subject. You know that sometimes you have to try several strategies and try several tactics and rework your strategies before. You may have to rework something and then relaunch again. Right. Just to if something's not working. So it's constantly. I think that's the thing to keep in mind is that don't give up and you that there is a lot of work behind the scenes of putting a course out and that hopefully eventually it will become a passive income. But do focus on the hustle first before you even think about it. Becoming passive income. Yeah, I hope you know, I hope that wasn't so vague. I hope that was helpful.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. It's like any other business. But the only thing is your cost is just a couple of months of creating the course and then you have no cost for your product. So all you have to do is focus on marketing and sales. And if you can be good at that, if you're good at that, if you learn from people like Avi Arya or taking other courses, I think you can pretty much achieve your targets. And thank you for that answer. I really appreciate it.
Yeah, thank you for your question. Really appreciate it.
Thanks, Priyank. Okay, we'll switch it back to the Q and A. Some interesting questions coming up.
Great. Okay, so there's a few similar questions. I know we're going a little bit over. I'll just get these last questions responded to and then we'll. Absolutely. Again, I'll be online later on this afternoon, Vancouver time, of course tomorrow morning and over the weekend too. I'll be part of the social media group. So just let me know if you have any further questions that we didn't get to on the webinar. But some of you were asking if you need a website other than this platform. If you already have an existing website. I use a squarespace site blog. I also have a thinkific site. But if you have an existing website and you're already having traffic, come to it, keep that website, don't lose it. That traffic is great. It's really hard to get to get that traffic. What I would recommend then is linking to your thinkific site from your main site. So you don't need a website. Thinkific comes with a home page and of course landing pages. But if you're doing anything like blogging or you have an existing site, no worries, you can link it to thinkific very easily. I can show you with my own site as well if anyone has any further questions. But again, one way that you can get a lot of your questions answered too is get the package. Get it, get it, get it. Comes with a 30 minute one on one strategy. Call with myself or one of my colleagues and we'll go through some of the specific questions you have about setting up your site, setting up thinkific and things like that. Someone mentioned pricing. Our pro and growth plan is $99 a month and we also do bill for students after the first 30 days. But we do have different pricing plans. We have a free option as well. We have a basic plan with a few more features. But we wanted to give you a pro and growth plan to test it out because it is really one of. It's one of our top plans. It has all the features you need and we just really wanted to give you an opportunity to give that particular plan a try. But it is after the 30 day trial it is $99 a month plus 10 cents a student. But so take advantage of the 30 days because you have that free time. Get set up, try setting up some integration, set up your landing page and see how it works for you guys.
I would highly recommend one thing. This is how I set up Thinkific. We went for the free trial as well. I set up my own landing pages, put up all the integrations with all the other email providers and all of that. And then the most important thing that I did was that I went to all the courses that they give to how to set up your thing. Do grab the 30 minute free one on one call because that call is just one on one with you. So that allows you to ask individually any question that you want. Am I correct, brother?
Yes, you can ask any questions. Keep in mind that Thinkific is we're not a marketing firm so go to Avi for marketing questions. But we're absolutely. We can talk about your business, your plans for thinkific. We'll go through any questions you have about using the platform if you're on and we can also point you in the right direction if there's any questions that you have that are not quite what we cover during the call. We never leave anyone stranded. I never do. If I don't know the answer to something. I'm very honest. I say I don't know this off the top of my head but let me get back to you. But take the 30 minute call. Keep in mind I would suggest booking it probably a week or two after you've had a chance to try out Thinkific. But you do need to stay on that plan. If you cancel, that's absolutely okay. But we do ask that you stay on the plan to take advantage of the call because calls are very busy with calls. Lots of people want to get on one on one calls with us. So we do ask that you just be on the trial still to take advantage of the call. But absolutely take the call, book it and we can get going on your course. Building questions as well.
Harsha and all of you guys. I have approved everybody's request to Be part of the Facebook group. And like Ratha said, she will be joining the community later in the day and posting some examples and case studies and all of that. So stay tuned. But the one thing that you need to do before you guys log off is to take advantage of the free trial. And because the free trial and this bonus has been made for you guys in our community. So take that advantage. We had months of planning to say, what are we going to give to the Askavi Aria community? I said, you know what? People don't know how to create a course. They've not done it. So give them everything for a low price. Ratha came back and said, how about giving it at no price? And so we created it at no price. Take it. You can sign off. I mean, cancel it. But like she said, whenever you want. But go and explore the world of online courses for yourself and after 30 days, make up your mind. But do grab the opportunity. Like I said, it was a lot of months of talking and saying what kind of program to build for you guys. It's a special day and how many people. Absolutely love the webinar today.
Yeah, let me know. Let me know the feedback. I'm selfish. It's actually because I'm always looking ways to be better and to better improve. So this is great. Thank you so much. I hope it was helpful for everyone and I'm going to be around if I didn't. I had a lot of similar questions, but if there's nothing, if I miss your question, pop it into the Learn Social Media public group. I'll be online later today, tomorrow, over the weekend, probably forever now because I'm gonna be a part of the group, but let me know. And again, when you do sign up with this awesome package we put together for you, you do also get one on one, 30 minutes of one on one time with a member of our team. And we're absolutely happy to go over the questions you have about using thinkific and talk about your business and the plans you have as well. That's what, that's one of the reasons I love working here. I love speaking with people like you, course builders and then getting you excited about building your own course and what features and thinkific can help you with that.
Guys, just want to know, just to get an idea with all this hard work that we put together for all of you guys, how many people have actually registered and taken the free opportunity?
Yeah, has anyone done it yet? Let me know. Pop into the chat if you did. Yes, I see a few already this is awesome, awesome, exciting, great, awesome. And if you again pop your questions into the Learn social media public group, you can also send an email directly to Thinkific just let them know that you were on the Internet Moguls or the AVI webinar. Attention Rafa, so I can answer your questions specifically I'll put, I'll put into the chat.
Guys, Ratha is giving you her email address. All you need to do is put it in the spot in the subject. We met at the Internet Moguls webinar and she know where you're coming from. And the best thing is to do is to book the call because I'm being selfish, Ratha, sorry. Because this is my audience. I want to really take care of them. I'm like take the opportunity because there's going to be experts on the call. Take the call guys.
Take the call. Absolutely honestly, that's the number one thing people always course builders want with us is a one on one call. And I do my, you know, we do our very best to help people but we do get really busy with the calls and it's what everyone always wants is that one on one personalized time. And we're happy to give it but we do get busy. So take the call. And you know I've been on a few calls this week already with other course builders and you know, you found if you find like the group, the group training helpful, imagine just the one on one time you get to specifically answer the questions that you have. So yes, yes, take the call. I'll be online later as well.
I'll just take one more minute of your time before we let you go. So can you just, can you just before you go run through what this949 includes that they're getting for free just last night, please.
Absolutely. So it's all worth $949, almost $1,000 worth of goodies here. You'll get the Thinkific Pro and Growth plan so you'll get all the features. I've made sure that you have access to all the features to really get going on your course building. You'll have access to a suite of training courses on our training site. It'll come with the online education business masterclass expert led training courses. So you'll get lots of resources that you can access at any time. You'll get an onboarding call with a launch specialist, myself or colleagues on the support team. We're absolutely to help a go over any questions you have about using Thinkific. You get a checklist. This is A very extensive long checklist, but it's an absolutely fantastic one. It just makes sure that you're ready to launch your site and your course. And if you need it, if you're moving from one LMS to another, we can help you move your students over and give you tips on moving your content over as well. So you get all of the for free, for absolutely free. You get a 30 day free trial. Sign it up. You have nothing to lose. So much to gain. Even if you decide not to stay with Thinkific. You know what? But at least we want to make sure that you are set up so that if you ever come back, you're set up. But if you ever, you know, think about this and start thinking like, oh, I have all these training courses, that's okay, you can cancel, go on the free trial, take all the training courses and be like, actually, I'm ready to go back again. Absolutely. We just want to make sure that you are set up. So try it. Give it a go. You have Nothing to lose. 30 days to see if this can work for you.
Awesome. Awesome. So guys, for all of you people asking, it's a free registration and the link is in the chat. You can.
Sorry, I'll pop it in again. Yeah, no worries. Here is the link for you all.
I think Agrim, my colleague has already done it. Partners.thinkific. so yeah, go for it. And you want more awesome information from Ratha? She's been kind enough to say she's going to be on the Facebook community. So go there and speak to her later today. Ratha, I think it's late for you. Thank you very, very, very much for your time. And thank you for making this offer happen.
Thank you. Thank you so much for your time. Thank you everyone for your time. I really appreciate you letting me speak to you and train you this morning, this evening in India. I know it's late for you, it's early for me. But hey, that's okay. We all learned something today.
