The Micro Video Mastery Meetup Episode 3

This is a YouTube video titled "The Micro Video Mastery Meetup Episode 3" containing a multi-speaker discussion recorded in January 2020. The participants, including Ronnie Screwvala, Parur, and Emita, engage in a conversation about book publishing, course creation, community building, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and business growth strategies. The discussion covers topics such as leveraging books for authority, launching courses, managing business operations, and sales tactics. There is no indication that Avi Arya is one of the speakers in this conversation.
Rohan, how was the book?
Very well since we had par with us. She got us the best seller in six countries. The next plan is what do we do after the book now that the book. I think the book is still a.
Bestseller in UK on Amazon on. Very good.
Now the next thing is what could o do? Shall we do a course or shall we do this?
I think the course should be very complimentary to.
I think so.
Yeah.
And. And given that we have 35 people at COM.
I think the book 100% complements or even these kind of, you know sometimes a lot of people are doing it overseas and even here in these you have 20 people joining you for dinner or lunch, whatever. And you say that I am doing a preview of the book and the course. So course is maybe four weeks long or eight weeks long. The book is a one hour read but this is in between say for whatever amount of money you charge with dinner and you are going to explain the book and the concept and people can ask you questions. So this kind of a small concept then you can take it to different parts of Bangalore. You're in Bangalore, right?
I think.
Specific meetup. Remember that was good, good fun. So Parur is doing well with her PR thing. With her PR thing.
So what we did is Par and I founded this company called Growth Media and what we plan to do is make it a publishing house plus a digital marketing agency. And then we have Emita. She shifted from Thailand from Bangalore, sorry Thailand from us. And now she's planning to do business with me. So inviting you know entrepreneurs for let's say one week, three days. And then in the book we introduced the concept of growth that includes the toolset, mindset and skill set. So she, she wants to specifically work on the mindset part. I want to work on the skill set part. And so part and wants to work on space. That's what we are trying but not sure what to launch for the course connections.
See the first is to build a community. Yeah and that community will help you build, have have a successful retreat. So community will come with the a Facebook group where you're teaching something. Otherwise the retreat retreat, you know retreat.
Like are you just investing money to build a plan you actually.
What I've seen is that from the mind valleys to small retreats I've tried to do as many as possible. What I've seen is that so you can't bet on one thing.
Produced my brother in law, the cfo.
Nobody knows so you have to keep on doing it.
Of the book Ronnie Scrovala the founder of Lightshire has shown influence. Let's see frankly, you know, rope into bigger names. This is an edition and hopefully continue taking edition.
You know what I'll tell you in my experience again I'm talking from my experience. No, I don't know who's right or who's wrong. I wish I knew. But I'm just talking from my experience. I always continue to launch different books and different programs because there was a fear in my mind many years ago to think practice business means what is your run rate? How did you money video make? So I would suggest one book is more than enough. Now just build a community and see how you can monetize the business because otherwise you know.
Already we have some kind of product or service with which we are very much pro with that. So do we have to sell it to large community or do we have to. So you just do the school types means you are done with the degree, nothing to do with the school anymore.
See your cost of business that you have spending money to get customers. You're spending your time. We can do some kind of job and sell our time for money. Right. Business may. I'm having a meeting with Baru Bharul. How should you make it Amazon. So I'm somewhere trading my time for money. But brand then you don't need many people. If you understand your niche is entrepreneurs, what else can you make for him? So just think of your hundred people and think initially, okay, what should I keep on giving to them? What else can I give to them?
Okay, so that we have a strong 100 people. Support those hundred unconditionally.
Yeah. Or unconditional not because unconditional. Read the book the automatic customer. Yeah, that's a good one. Said it's such a simple thing. I was like yeah, this is so amazing. He said Avengers movie is going to be a blockbuster Disney or 2030%. Yesterday when I heard him I was like oh my God. He said Hong Kong crisis. He made us feel so bad.
If you want you can take one. Means you are making a loss in the trading part when you join that course. If it goes down, you go down Sell. If it goes up, you buy trend following none of your business. You enjoy the ride. I was like.
My. My wife is a lawyer and she works with. They're a law firm in Canada so they do immigration. One partner, 60, 65 year old guy, Tim. The. The guy knows everything about his subject. So he came to India and he charged somebody. Why are you charging this much? Okay. His straight answer was 17th century in Ireland there was this king who had a flour mill. 17th century he had a flower mill. Flour. And the king used to make money. One day the flour mill stopped working. The machinery stopped working. The king said, I will give a gold of a bag of gold to anybody who fixes this. People came from all over the world. They couldn't fix it. The king got more desperate. He said, I'll give you two bags of gold. Anybody who can fix it. One guy with long hair and he looked like, you know, somebody from the streets. He came, he said, I can fix it. He said, I don't know. You don't look like somebody who can fix it, but go for it. He said, but you give me two bags. He said yes, I'll give two bags. So he came to get his two bags. 30 years of experience to know. But you're right. People like to say I call it a perfect fume. There was a company where my Masi had a company many years back. My Masi lives in Bombay. She had a company many years back called Timely Reminders. And Ambani is one of her clients or the whole senior vice president.
Last two. Last year one of my friends, she.
Had we will remind you.
And then she tied up with these.
Reminders. Facebook reminders.
Yeah.
But people are there. They like doing things.
Yeah, of course some people like doing it. Yeah, of course.
I had that phase in college. I have this bundle of greetings in my home. Just stick to it.
Event is only to understand. Event is like a. Some events are like a shopping mall. Here you go to a buffet and you say it's basically Canada universities, computer science. So everybody. There was seven. I think it was a very good event. Everybody has to see interest. But you know, it's better than. It's better than. So that's why I'm saying mostly I think that most courses should be. That courses should be business centric. He would invest in something business right away. Yeah, somebody will invest something good again. If I do this course, I'm going to be able to get either a job or I get employed better. Because this is a very big thing. A lot of people. This is my thing. I feel every employee feels time you're learning. So I don't think anybody should depend on anybody else for any kind of training. The three things either you get employed better or you get a job or your business improves.
Company when a data sales or marketing right.
All over the world and doing these events and all of that. What's going to happen to Internet mobile? My dad is asking what is so I explained to him. I said he's 72, I'm 42. I explained to him that what I'm doing here. We understand. A lot of people say that the mentors at home are not digitally savvy experience and the the love for ourselves like my dad. You're sapping your energy. You start having more nar. You need more energy now to be you're able to add. You're adding more to your plate. Then you go to a nutritional counselor and say what should I do? I'll give you 30 more energy.
Is Magic Co. My sales marketing Gardana result or target mild company.
Culture calm delivery every result. That's the best Koi workshop working people management exact like minded people. Exactly support. It's a very good question. So I can understand why your dad is not putting money.
Mary party client or you may competitor.
Joe business have already said. After that operations you'll end up multitasking. Multitasking foundation strong. You can do multitasking.
Things or take by eliminating the task.
Your dad is difficult. The world is 20 times more difficult. Is not going to come and sit Dunya easy. So Mary suggestion Iragi work with your dad Kunka Saman other extra base camp. Look at it at the business. I don't think that or other option would be. You work for somebody full time job Monday to Saturday night Tiger say all these things and just do that the deep milking target business killer. But I would tend to you break time with the like minus plus Ogabula sub doctor go patent partnership purchase partner. Purchase partner. Yes Employee millionaire only for I say hi to your dad or Abu this.
But the way he said that I asked him what did he offer for 25 people. He said he I will manage because he has the management skills. Don't need to worry. I'll take care and profit share sleeping partners.
Know why people cry for jobs See the chairman office. The chairman wants to talk. What should I do now? Yes ma'. Am. Okay, let me look India what do you do? I don't think jobs always choose your manager. You are the best. Like one day we were all cribbing about our thing. That's what you said.
I wanted to grow myself. So what he's telling respect. You can't be all rounder. But you are a guru for me in this particular thing. Francis is a donkey and you are a very good girl. What is telling me? I'll handle this also. I'll handle that also. You are trapping me in that.
There politics is Virus.
Praise someone by bullying someone at the same time. I so wanted to bring you that. What happened is if you order on Amazon, they charge you 1,000. Right. So we ordered a special paper from Indonesia to print for the Indian audience and make it cheaper for about 254 or so rupees, but still maintaining that, you know, quality. So when push came for the launch even we gave him the book.
Yeah, yeah, he told me.
Unfortunately we can't keep it on Amazon because Amazon is in India. People are not going to buy from. I mean people will buy for 1,000. But I actually have the, the book as a. So I wanted to take the price as low as possible and you know, just.
Yeah, yeah, of course.
So that's the reason. So in India the launches next week on the book of August.
Okay.
So let's see what happens.
So like Gary V said, you have to have a gateway drug.
Yeah.
Your book is not your business main business.
Exactly. No one has become a millionaire selling books. They are. There are people.
But that's a very different business model. Here you just are establishing authority for yourself and you need to know 100 people should best seller. That means 100 people have reviewed you. It's already pay seller.
Right.
Six countries.
See, when you work as an employee, you kind of. They have the system that if you want an area to go to certain people, you can't, you know, the person is.
I don't know why that is. If you have a relationship with your manager, why don't. Exactly.
That's what I was saying. So what Anish said that you know, about reason. You mentioned that if you 10x the business you're going to get, you know, he will 10x.
So with the increment like when later. So what is that?
Because I've never worked in a company. I don't know what actually what system they have but working as external, you know, consultant or an. So I was working with Kalyan Miller. The first month they paid. So they, they newly discovered me on LinkedIn and they hired me branding for their company on, on, on social media. They were paying like 35,000. They saw the growth, they got the flow T. The next month I asked them for 65 and they kind of doubled it, almost doubled it. The third month I asked for 1 lakh and they made it. And then what was like we demanded most? The reason was I was hiring people for them. I was doing their chatbot and everything. I was doing social media for them, I was doing coffee for them. So they were putting on responsibilities. On me. And every time, you know, the founder contacted me saying that now you will do this also I'm saying, you know, this is the price. And they were kind of, you know, happy to do that for this went on happening until, you know, I, I reached a really good network, I was making good money, I was doing good work. We had this relationship for like 15 months. And then there came a point where, you know, everything was saturated. There was no nothing new to, to the table. Then I myself said, okay, that now there's nothing new. I don't want to constantly keep charging when I can't delivery mobile. And that's when, you know, I stopped working. So this is what, you know, my confusion is whether I should begin work at a company or I should continue, you know, working as an external company.
Why can't you do both? Why can't you do.
I'm not sure if that's allowed.
Some places, some things are allowed. Like for example, if you're doing something which is, you know, which doesn't cross the same path. For example, I'm a, I'm a, I'm doing T shirt drop shipping and I'm working for a digital marketing company. So I'm working for you. You have a digital marketing company and I'm selling T shirts. You're the owner. You say whenever, anytime you go for an event. I always buy that in the evening they have dinners either they have a breakfast table in the morning. So then you sit with them. And even if you get five minutes with those people. Sure, if somebody's selling something. Correct. I would say a huge percentage of people go to conferences, get excited, go home. Pruner entrepreneur or Rajiv NASA. So you know, definitely they go competition. There are those you write with human psychology. So it takes time. Sales is actually going and calling somebody and saying I want to talk to you. And you give them 15 minutes of insane value and say I don't want to charge you anything for the next 60 days. When I able to prove to you that have got your business to another level, then you should be having at least, you know, if you're working four or five hours a day, you should be having at least 10 new meetings every single week with people meeting. I've got people in my office, you know, everybody's trying to fix my meeting. I don't have to do it today. Startup. So you have to keep on. That business development thing is the most important. Sorry, the sales is the most important. But what I'm saying is doesn't lead to business. But the business business is asking you where is my food for tomorrow? Sales is the meetings is the only thing that's going to happen. Digital entrepreneurship program so say if I normally target to say there's a number in my head 300,000 I don't know why just for one short 300,000 in one year. Once I have that 300,000 I'm going to so that nobody says I don't know this guy every day I can launch something right from any part of the world. I know them, they know me. They've had pulses. We've done in 52 weeks we've done say 52 of 25 such meetings. I am helping you create that gold asset. What is your asset? Tomorrow you look startup. You've taken funding up IIT and EAMs and three smart founders. You know that tomorrow your customer is going to be your. Your data is the new oil. A how are you creating the database? B how are you managing it? See how you're monetizing it. Take so you would think them on all three stages divided into three parts. Customer acquisition Webinar is a good customer acquisition strategy right to your web. Then you run the webinar for them. Say if you spend 4 lakh rupees like startup and they'll get say about 3000 people on the level and one day I'll become successful webinars multiplying it by 100x. So that is one strategy. Correct. Other strategies how to build your email list. Facebook will be 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 but 30, 40% open rate if you segment your bucket list. So then you say I will segment your bucket list. KR MBM code for motion should get a different email because Mohsin wants to become an entrepreneur so entrepreneur basis whereas somebody else is doing a job email. So I've got a this thing for you. I'll do it for absolutely free for 30 days. If you don't love my product, no money because you are no threat. No fiction Contract accountant agreement legal the startup that is helping all startups grow their database through email market. That's nice Ide, but what is it? I mean should I do it for free for the first time? Why not? Because what are you doing? You just take an opportunity to do a case study.
