Accepting Awareness: Guided Meditation

A guided meditation that asks you to notice your breath and whatever emotions show up—tiredness, anxiety, frustration—without trying to fix them. The practice is accepting what's there, which the speaker frames as healing in itself.
So just start by asking yourself, how am I doing right now? And check in by looking at your breath, seeing how it's flowing or how it's not flowing. And above all, recognize that what you're looking for is an accepting awareness of wherever you are. And that this accepting awareness has absolutely no interest in changing where you are. Not the slightest effort to improve your state of being, that where you are is actually sacred, and that all you want to do is be an accepting awareness of where you are. And so if you're in a state of being tired, just recognize tiredness. If you're anxious, just be an accepting awareness. Anxiety is happening. If you feel frustrated or impatient, just ah, frustration and impatience is happening. And have the faith that this accepting awareness is truly a healing agent. And this other urge to try to be in a better state is actually not going to help. So just drop in now. Just allow yourself to breathe and keep inquiring, what state am I really in? How am I really doing? Above all, keep reminding yourself I have no need to improve. I simply want to be accepting and aware of where I am right now. And as you look, don't be surprised that you might be finding some new places. You might find, gee, I'm a little withdrawn, or gee, I'm a little bit intellectual and I'm not really in my heart, or maybe I'm just subtly irritable, or maybe there's just a little bit of a judgment way, way back there that I'm not. Not. And be appreciative that your primary intention is just to accept yourself and be alert and aware of where you are. And then as you're contacting yourself, your real self, your real state of being, look and find what really is a tone. It's actually an inner tone. And that tone is the quality of where you are. And in a sense, let that accepting awareness say to you, hi, I'm with you, I'm joining you. It's perfectly acceptable that you are where you are. And congratulations for having the courage to join your own state of being and be deeply content. The joining this inner tone of voice, this inner tone, this inner quality inside you is your permanent life work and is always going to be a healing agent because acceptance and awareness is sacred.
