Your inner voice should sound like your best friend, not a critic. Ask yourself: would I say this to someone I care about? If not, pause and try again with kindness and honesty instead.
A student's inner voice needs to coach them, not heckle them from the sidelines. We need to teach them to pause and ask, would I say this to someone I care about? A sensitive mind doesn't pretend everything's fine. It offers clear, honest feedback with caring that balance honesty with respect builds the kind of internal voice they and all of us can actually trust. And the more we all practice speaking to ourselves that way, the stronger that supportive and heartfelt voice becomes. Does this make sense to you? If it's vague, let yourself repeat this until it's crystal clear. I'd be very happy to answer questions. Please leave your comments below.
