A short guided meditation script that leads the listener through coordinated breathing, a progressive body scan, and a heart-centered inquiry to cultivate feelings of trust and love. It instructs sensory noticing (breath, muscle tension, heartbeat), invites reframing of difficult emotions (worry → trust, sadness → contentment), and ends with grounding and the affirmation that one can invoke loving feelings anytime.
Close your eyes and as you begin to pay attention to your breathing, listen to the sound as the breath goes through your nostrils. Take a deep breath in. Let the breath go all the way out. Take an even deeper breath in as far into your lower belly as you can go. Notice the place in your body that feels the tightest, where the muscles feel hard. On your next breath out, let those muscles go as much as possible. Scan your body and notice all the places that could feel softer. On your next breath. As you let it out, make a sound. It may be like or whatever sound feels releasing to you. Settle in so that your lower back is relaxed and as you do so, take the next deep breath in through the very back of your heart. Feel your chest expand as you breathe in and relax your shoulders into the ground. Starting with your feet, sense your toes and feel the bones that are inside the tissue, inside the muscles wrapped up in the skin. Continue to sense your legs, feeling into your knees and hips. Breathe and move up through your stomach and now feel your chest sense into your arms and out through the tips of your fingers. Now breathe into and relax your neck. Allow your head to sink into the ground as you breathe out. On your next breath, sense into your heart. Can you feel it beating? Allow your mind to stop if it can, and and focus on that silent place in your heart. Ask yourself from that quiet place, what am I feeling right now? What feeling is in that silence? If you feel worry, can you imagine feeling trust that everything will be fine? If you feel sadness, can you envision times in your life when you've felt content? Can you feel the love in your heart for yourself and your many feelings? Can you feel that same love for others? While you are in this loving state, you can begin to open your eyes and become aware of the space of this room as you continue throughout the day. Remember and rest in these moments of feeling loved. And know that you can always invoke feelings of love in your heart, no matter what else might be happening around you, anytime, day or night, for the rest of your life.
