The Power of Pure Intention_Guided Meditation

A short guided meditation emphasizing that each person is the source of their own intention; cultivating the intention to be loving, compassionate, and self-forgiving is presented as the route to reduce reactivity and generate wellbeing for oneself and others. The speaker instructs listeners to return to a loving intention even when emotionally caught, framing that intention as defining and purifying.
One of the hardest things to remember is that you are the source of your own intention. And your intention is going to generate your thoughts, they are your motives and they're going to determine the quality of your day. And if you ask yourself, do I have the intention to be loving? And kind of very likely you're going to answer yes. And as you look deeper, you're going to see that, gee, when I'm reactive, I lose sight of the fact that I'm the source of intention. You're likely to think, you did this to me, you jabbed me, it was your fault, you're the reason why my heart's closed. And at that moment, remember you are the source of your own intention and you have the capacity to come back there and to remember that. I wish to open my heart. I wish to generate as much love as possible. And when I can't find my heart, I want to bring that intention to be caring towards my caught emotional state. And recognize that this intention to be self compassionate is of greatest benefit to everyone around you. Because when you're from forgiving, when your compassion towards yourself, it's going to be passed on. And when you judge yourself and are harsh with yourself and are wrestling with yourself, that's going to be passed on. Tightness begets tightness. Forgiveness creates forgiveness, acceptance and tenderness. As an intention passes itself on to the same tenderness and the same acceptance. So right now just center into the realization you are the source of your own intention. Even though you're going to get caught over and over each day in thinking I feel this way because you did blah blah, blah. But know at the deepest level you are the reactor or you are the one that's aware that it's just a reaction, you are the source. You are the one that has the capacity to return to this intention to want to love, to want to be aware of how to love, to be skillful. May I remember. May you remember that you are the source of your intention and that you want to open your heart. You want to be as loving as possible. And when you are caught, you still want to bring this intention, or perhaps you may call it your will to open your heart and to recognize that when you're caught and you recognize that you're the source of the intention to open your heart, that's a magical state. That's a magical awareness. It's so hard to see your good nature when you're not feeling good. And that's the most important time to feel your good nature, to recognize that you are the source of your own good intention. Even when you're feeling lousy. It doesn't matter what you feel, you still are the capacity to bring this intention to bear. Feel the power, feel the strength, feel the purity of this motive and recognize this is the best definition of who I am. I am this intention. I am this intention to purify and to love myself and those around me. I want to bring this. No matter what my reactions are, I recognize this is the source of purpose, this is a source of fulfillment. This is what I aspire towards. No matter what feeling state I'm in, no matter what feeling state is coming towards me. I don't want to create suffering. I want to create well being and peace and trust and compassion. It.
