Let us see 3 important breathing techniques which will help you to reduce the symptoms of your migraine. Before you practice any breathing technique or pranayama, Make sure you are sitting in a comfortable position. Your spine should be erect, your shoulders and neck are relaxed. Inhale and exhale softly, and your chin is perpendicular to your body. Now to practice yogic deep breathing, place your right palm below your navel, left palm on your chest. Slowly inhale towards your abdomen. Abdomen should come out. Exhale, chest out. Shoulders up. Slowly while exhaling, relax your shoulders, relax your chest, and relax your abdomen. Inhale deeply and exhale deeply. Now we will repeat one more time. Inhale, bulge your abdomen, expand your chest, lift your shoulders. Exhale, relax your shoulders, relax your chest, and relax your abdomen. Inhale, 1, 2, 3. Exhale, 1, 2, 3. By keeping our eyes closed, let us repeat for 2 more times. Inhale, exhale slowly. The more slow you do, the more benefits you get. Inhale, 1, 2, 3. Exhale, 1, 2, 3. Slowly release your palms and open your eyes. You should repeat at least for 15 to 20 times to get maximum benefits out of this breathing. The second breathing technique we practice is 4-5-6. Inhale for 4 counts, hold it for 5 counts, exhale for 6 counts. Let us see this. Slowly inhale, 1, 2, 3, 4, hold, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, exhale, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Let us repeat this. Inhale, keep your eyes closed, spine erect. Inhale, 1, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Exhale, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Again inhale, 1, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Exhale, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Inhale. Hold. Exhale. Slowly open your eyes. Exhaling slowly is very, very important aspect. It activates your parasympathetic nervous system, which is very, very helpful to reduce the pain. The third breathing we do is Anuloma Viloma Pranayama, which is very, very important and famous pranayama. So it balances both the energies. So to practice this, place your right palm, left palm on your left knee, and palms facing upwards. And use— adopt this mudra. This is called Nasyaka mudra. You, you are opening your thumb finger and ring finger and little finger. So in case if you cannot adopt this mudra, able to adopt this mudra, you can use these two fingers. Close this, inhale, and close, and exhale. You can also use these two fingers, but I prefer to do with Mudra. Okay, so first close your right nostril, exhale from your left, inhale from your left, close your left, exhale from your right, inhale from your right, close your right. And exhale from your left. We have to repeat the same thing. Inhale softly and exhale softly. Inhale from your left slowly. Hold. Exhale from your right slowly, as slow as possible. Inhale from your right. Close. Exhale from your left. Inhale from your left for 3 counts. 1, 2, 3. Close your left. Exhale from your right. 1, 2, 3. Inhale from your right. 1, 2, 3. Close your right. Exhale from your left. 1, 2, 3. Repeat for one more time. Inhale slowly from your left, close your left. Exhale from right. Inhale from right, close your right. And exhale from left. Slowly release your hand. Observe the changes. And open your eyes. Again, repeat this for 20 to 25 times to get maximum benefits. And also, when you are closing your nose, make sure your elbow is relaxed. Some people hold the elbow like this. This makes this, this feel— you feel pain in your shoulder region and your elbow region. Keep your elbow relaxed. And also, do not press your nose tightly. That will cause damage to your nose.
