In this instructional video, Badrinath Gella, founder of the Conscious Breathing Hub, introduces Bhastrika Pranayama—a vigorous breathing technique aimed at boosting lung capacity, increasing energy, strengthening the respiratory system, and calming the mind. He outlines essential precautions (high blood pressure, hernia, pregnancy, eye/ear issues, cold, flu, fatigue) and emphasizes proper posture (erect spine, relaxed shoulders/neck, chin level, seated comfortably). The practice is demonstrated step‑by‑step: make fists with thumbs inside, place them at the chest, inhale while extending arms and opening palms, then forcefully exhale and bring fists back to the chest. He highlights common mistakes such as facial tension and excessive force, advising relaxation of facial muscles, shoulders, and neck. The routine is performed for 10 breaths initially, repeated 4‑5 cycles, with the option to increase to 20 breaths over time. The video concludes with a call to subscribe, share, and join free workshops for deeper breath work, aligning with his mission to help one million people achieve a happy, holistic life.

Whether you are a beginner or advanced practitioner, by practicing this will help you to boost your lung capacity, improve your energy levels, strengthen your respiratory system, and also calm your mind. In this video, I am going to show you step by step how to practice Bhastrika Pranayama. If you practice it correctly, you are going to get more benefits out of it. Before we move further, these are the precautions. If you have high blood pressure, hernia, if you are pregnant, or if you have any eye or ear problems, cold, flu, fatigue, please avoid this pranayama. You should avoid this pranayama, should not perform at this moment. So let us see how to practice Bhastrika Pranayama. Hi, my name is Badrinath Gella. I am the founder of Conscious Breathing Hub. Where all the like-minded people join together to work on their overall health. My mission is to help 1 million people to live happy and holistic life. Let us see how to practice Bhastrika Pranayama. Whenever you practice any pranayama or breathing technique, make sure your spine is erect, your shoulders and neck is relaxed, your chin is perpendicular to your body, and you are sitting in steady and comfortable position. You can also practice while sitting on the chair. Firstly, make a fist with your both hands, thumb inside, and place your both fists next to your chest. While inhaling, stretch your both hands forward and open your palms. Inhale deeply and forcefully exhale and make the fist— bring the fist back towards your chest. The common mistakes people do, like facial expressions, they put a lot of pressure on their face, like they squeeze their facial muscles. You should not do that. So facial muscles are relaxed, your shoulders and neck is relaxed. Do not put any force, only inhale deeply, exhale deeply. So let's see again. Make a fist. Do it for 10 times and relax. Keep your eyes closed and absorb. Again, make a fist, fist facing towards your chest. Inhale, raise both hands up while exhaling forcefully. Fist back towards your chest. Inhale. Relax. Keep your eyes closed. Observe your breath. Observe the changes. And slowly open your eyes. You have to repeat this for 4 to 5 times. You will see the instant energy. Initially suggested to do for 10 times. After that, you can increase the count to 20 times. I hope you found this video useful.
