Holistic Health Summit Day 1

A naturopathy expert argues the body heals itself without drugs, presenting five daily principles: two meals, 2 liters of water, one hour exercise, twice-daily prayer, and weekly fasting. The talk covers case studies in disease reversal through mud packs, fasting, and earthing, with practical guidance on meal timing and sunlight exposure.

which is impinging on each other's system, simultaneously working in perfect synchrony. This kind of complex machine that we are living with is such a powerful tool. And why do we need any external intervention? In order to make it run properly. Don't you think it is naturally endowed and we are expected to live healthy, and then we are living healthy and we continue to live healthy? Do you have any doubt in that? And over and above this, we have a— since it is a holistic approach and From the system's perspective, if I look at it, since we are a system, if it fails, we also have natural mechanisms to come back to normal. So that's the beauty of live machine. Any dead machine or human-made machine, if it goes wrong, the chances are that that needs to be fixed externally. But a natural machine, if it fails for some reasons, it knows to correct itself. That is, that is what is natural thing, which we call it organic. It knows to correct itself. It can come back to normal all by itself. You don't have to do anything. So this is what we say, you know, a body can recover itself or recoup itself when left alone. When left alone is a big word because we are a thinking animal. We are animals first of all. Within that, we are thinking animals and we know to analyze. So any little dis-ease or discomfort, we start analyzing, we start, you know, thinking that it could be this disease, it could be that disease, something, you know, has gone wrong here, that's the reason it's happening like this, and then let me give this in order to, you know, this is what is happening. Say for example, diabetes. What is the conventional treatment of diabetes? By giving medicines, what are we doing? We are correcting the glucose in the system, but we do not know that there are more than 60 parameters that go, uh, haywire, you know, they, they are not normal. But the correction is happening only with regard to glucose. So like this, every treatment that we are taking for every disease that we are taking is all in a, in a, not in a holistic manner, not in an organic fashion, but then in a mechanical fashion. And while body is an organic entity, and we are bringing in mechanical factors into it, aren't we doing injustice to ourselves? I'm just throwing some more questions to you. Badrinath ji, pardon me if I am troubling your audience.
No, no, no, completely fine. Yeah.
So these are the questions we should pose ourselves. We get a cut— recently I had a cut on my— this thing— immediately the person who was assisting me was telling, go for TT. You know why? We think that because I got hurt with a knife, and the knife, you know, is naturally either steel or iron. Okay, so the assumptions, you know, too much of fear This fearmongering, and that has completely transformed our thinking, and to such an extent that we have completely lost faith on this natural mechanisms that are given to us, or that are inbuilt, they're embedded. This embedded mechanisms are to be understood properly. This is what Gandhiji coined, this word Arogya Samrakshan Shastra. We have to unlearn now that every ill has a pill. Not only that, that body is capable of handling itself. Even with regard to cardiac problems, when there are blocks Immediately we think that it needs to be plumbed. The plumbing, that is, you have to clear it, clear the blocks, either by way of aggressive surgery or stenting or some other mechanism. Otherwise we think that the person will die. But when patient goes to the hospital, he is quite normal. I mean, walking and all that, maybe having some issues, but then when angiogram is done, you see some 80%, some 90%, sometimes 100% blocks. But then up till now, that person is alive. But then if you delay it, you think that you, you're going to die. This is the problem. And earlier 200 years back or 300 years back, all these medicines were there with us? No. People survived. And how many— if you go through the history book, you understand, you know, how many generations, how many these kings, emperors, they all came and then they plundered, they conquered, and then they did this, they did that, and they have constructed these forts and all that. How could they do it? How were they able to carry themselves to places, countries to countries? How they traveled? Were they also carrying all these antimalarials and paracetamols with them the way these days people are carrying? Why are we so obsessed? This obsession is itself a disease. To think that we are going to fall ill and to prepare ourselves not to fall ill, this is also a disease. I want you all to feel every day that you're not looking for something or to measure whether you are healthy or not. You have to find a purpose in life for which this body will deliver the required functions in order to realize that purpose in life. Body is a tool. That tool should help you to reach your purpose in life, and we are endowed with all the required— otherwise one of us will become a sprinter, one of us will become a a musician, a good singer, a good dancer, while some become so lazy, dull, heavy, and all that. So it comes from the purpose. I, I think we are all healthy, we don't have to worry about it, and there is no way you can fall sick. Even if you want to fall sick, you cannot. I tell you, you try and see. How difficult it is to fall ill. We are by default healthy, we remain healthy, and we continue to nurture this feeling that even if you fall ill, it's okay, you will become all right. And you are optionless, I'm telling you. I think this is what I have understood. All other things, you know, it is just a time pass. We engage ourselves And to quote one Ivan Illich, he has written a book, Limits to Medicine. If you are interested in still reading books and all that, please read this book, this Limits to Medicine. He says that pain has created cultures. By removing pain, we are removing cultures. That means when somebody is suffering We want to go sit with them and tell them some stories, tell them that what you had done when you had this pain, or your mother when she had this pain, what she did to you, or what your sister did to you. So this kind of thing, and you take some fruits, or you take some flowers, or you tell them some stories. You know, the whole culture builds there. So pain, handling pain means creating a culture. How can we live without pain? Why pain should not be there? And we know Baba goes one step further. Every disease comes to teach us something. If you have not learned your lesson from this, you will suffer. But if you learn a lesson from that, you enjoy it. So every disease, every suffering, every pain has to teach us something. Let's learn. Let's open all our, you know, senses to receive this message from the Universe. Why we got this. If we understand and connect ourselves to this body, to the nature and environment around, every day is a gift, and we enjoy and we continue to pursue the purpose for which we think this body is there for us. I think This kind of coming together should help each of us that, yes, I'm healthy, and there are many more healthy, and we are all going to be healthy, and there is no other go. I think I'll stop here and take your questions if there are any. Thank you so much once again for allowing me to share this view.
Awesome, awesome. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for sharing this. Um, ma'am. And so many people, uh, like, are hearing naturopathy for the first time. So what is naturopathy? Uh, can you please tell us? We only know allopathy, right? So after that, we have something like about Ayurveda. So you are, you are the director before, like, I know that the work you have done to naturopathy and the institute which you have built over there, like, uh, through you. And so, yeah, what is naturopathy? Like, How does it help in one's healing?
Yeah, naturopathy is a system of medicine which can offer certain treatments or therapies wherein most of them are non-pharmacological therapies. Non-pharmacological means no chemical, particularly no synthetic chemicals are used in therapies. And most of the treatments are non-invasive. And yeah, that is naturopathy. But nature cure is a way of life wherein you learn to live in sync with environment around or nature around and live a healthy life And that is nature cure. And naturopathy is a system of medicine where there is a physician who will try and understand your body and then offer you certain therapies in order to get you out of the problem with which you would have visited him or her. So that is precisely nature cure and naturopathy. And the naturopathy also believes Basically that your body is capable of producing every and any medicine at appropriate quantities at required times. That means it's like, say for example, I'm— so I have eaten something. I've gone to a party, I must have overeaten. I don't immediately consume some, you know, medicine to digest that. My digestion, the chemistry in my body will rise up to that situation, that extra burden that I have posed, and then I will nicely digest everything that I eat. And then, and similarly, if I have to walk 1 mile extra today, My legs will support, my back will support, and then I— so it is ultimately the body's capacity that I stretch to such an extent that it supports. And we have all these systems internally which will support all our functions. And so that's basically the philosophy of naturopathy. And we believe that the human body is all-powerful and capable of handling all these day-to-day health issues.
Amazing, amazing, ma'am. Can you like, do you, have you seen any case studies where people who have critical illnesses and they were able to manage through naturopathy or reverse through naturopathy? If yes, can you please share us any example you have come across during your experience?
Yeah, there are many actually, uh, to, uh, critical if you want to see. Um, we, we have even, uh, had cases of smallpox which was eliminated from the globe, which we think now greatly proclaim. But the last case when it was reported in, uh, it is still there as a record. And the patient was none other than one of the medical superintendent's son. You can imagine a situation, what we have gone through recently during COVID And although he was a superintendent of the hospital, he could not treat his son because he already had these pustules. Pustules means big, big abscesses all over the body. And he had already developed this boy of 13 years already developed ascites, that is, he stopped passing urine and then tummy also bulged. At that stage, he had to give up on this son. At that juncture, the Amirthpet Hyderabad Nature Cure Hospital Superintendent and Director Dr. Venkat Rao and Vijay Lakshmi were asked if they can take over this boy. They said, we don't give names to disease. Any disease is the same for us. So if you have faith in us, bring your child, we will treat. So the boy was brought there, and all this is recorded, and the case details are still available, and it was published in papers then. And the boy was treated, and next day he was only given cold packs and mud packs and then prayers and all that. And the next day he passed urine, no looking back. He started improving and he completely improved. And there is another case, the polio. A boy was brought with infantile paralysis. Both legs were paralyzed and he was brought in hands. His mother, a 6-year-old child, And he was treated. And later, you know, can you believe I also witnessed him? I spoke to him. He's still alive. He later became a scientist in ISRO. Completely recovered, just left with a little foot drop. We think that if you get polio, it cannot be treated, right? Nothing can be done. So What, what else you want to see? The cases I'm talking about during COVID how many people practice naturopathy and then completely cured of it without any medicine, without any drug? Absolutely no medicine. In fact, whatever medicines that they were using needed to be stopped so that body functions all by itself. So it's not one or two cases. If you go to any naturopathy hospital, you can hear such stories. They come in a crippled condition, they come in stretchers or wheelchairs, but then go back laughing. And then they, they cry when they go, you know, they don't want to leave the hospital. And don't think that the naturopathy hospitals are only for weight reduction. That has become a recent phenomenon. That's such an unfortunate thing, you know. Wellness is equated to weight reduction or pampering, and no, not necessarily. One has to— all early naturopathy doctors were allopaths, particularly European and American naturopaths were regular MBBS doctors. They have realized, they have understood that the science has gone in the direction where you identify the cause of the germ and then kill it. If you were to understand what caused the— what helped the people who did not attract the germs— same germs are there around during COVID also, all of us did not get the disease. And all of us did not suffer. Some suffered, some went to hospital, some succumbed to it, but many survived without anything. How that is possible? If the same COVID, if COVID itself is a culprit, all of us should have same symptoms, same thing. No. Similarly, We have to be internally strong. That strength comes from, first of all, having this total faith in Nature's processes. And we, we start actually calling everybody normal or abnormal based on certain parameters. But no, what is normal to you necessarily need not be normal to me. And vice versa. So again, coming back to it, naturopathy allows you to be a little, you know, so-called abnormal, still be healthy. That is possible because the abnormality is temporary. Disease is transient. And temporary. Health is guaranteed and permanent.
Thank you, thank you so much for this, uh, powerful examples and increasing belief in us. And, uh, like, if as a common man, if we have to adopt naturopathy lifestyle, what are the things we can include in our daily life, uh, that can help us in improving our health or managing our health, maintaining our health as per naturopathy?
Yeah, I will, uh, okay, uh, start from here. Dr. B Venkat Rao, who started this Hyderabad Naturopathy Hospital, which was an ashram before. Most of the naturopathy centers then were ashrams, but later the concept of case sheet you know, bedside visits and understanding and giving them prescriptions. All that started by Dr. Venkat Rao. In his extensive practice and all that, he jotted down 5 health principles. He called them Arogya Rakshaka Panchatantra— 5 health principles. So what are they? Number 1, eat twice a day, 2 meals a day. Consume minimum 2 liters of water every day. Do minimum 1 hour exercise every day and, uh, pray twice a day. Then fast Once a week. So these are 5 health principles. And even if you have little bit of, you know, inconvenience here and there, that is, he also used to give these questions. Ask yourself these questions to know if you are healthy or not. One, whether you are having good appetite. Are you hungry at all? Are you eating when you're hungry? The second question, are you sleeping well or do you complain? And are you fighting with people most of the time or angry with people or complaining all the time? That is, am I cool and composed while dealing with others? And also whether you have regular bowel movement. If your answer is in the negative, then he would say that don't rush, don't run to doctors or hospitals. Simply follow these Arogya Rakshaka Panchatantra, 5 health principles. If you follow, you will again, you know, come back to all these things. That is, you will have good appetite, you look forward to whatever is served, you eat, you will have samaagni. That means it's not bishamaagni or teevraagni or mandaagni, but you will have samaagni. That means good appetite, wherein whatever is provided at that time, you will nicely eat and enjoy and appreciate the one who prepares it. Otherwise, a person who will be wanting to eat only noodles or only pizza, and that too with Coke, then only it is fulfilling. That means that person has no hunger. A good hunger is the crux of the health. So wait till you have good appetite and eat well, and whatever you eat, you will digest. But when you eat when you are not hungry, then you require all these things. Similarly, good exercise that keeps all your joints, muscles, and lungs active. And you have to have regular bowel movement, and you should also pray so that you feel less burdened. You put this burden onto somebody, whomever you think is handling all the affairs of the universe. Put your burden onto that source so that you become little more focused on your work. It is the responsibility of the God to keep us healthy, active, and all that. So let God do his job, we should do our works. He used to say that. So pray. Every day at least once or twice. And then fast. We have to understand the hunger pains. If you don't know what it is to experience hunger pain, then we become actually cruel, inhuman. We can't understand others' sufferings. So in order to experience suffering, In order to experience hunger, we have to fast. And to have control over tongue means we have control on the entire universe. And it comes only by practice. One is health is guaranteed, and second, health is nurtured. The one that is given to us, we have to nurture it, we have to protect it. We have to preserve it. Swastho rakshati rakshitaha. What is given to us, if we protect it, it remains with us. If you don't protect it, it goes, and then we keep going to people in search of it. So that's why when Yama Dharma Raja, or Yama asked all these questions to Dharma Raja, Who is the wealthiest man? The one who is healthiest. So health is such an important thing. Somebody was saying that not because I can sell my kidneys, I can sell my eyes, or heart, or liver. No, not that way healthy, wealthy. The health is that, that gives us confidence to do anything that we want to do in life. So for that reason, and we are healthy, we will remain healthy. So follow these Arogya Rakshaka Panchatantra. Let me repeat: 2 meals a day, minimum 2 liters of water per day, 1 hour exercise minimum. He didn't say maximum, minimum. And then Pray twice a day and fast once a week. I think if we follow this Arogya Rakshaka Panchatantra, I think we can altogether avoid doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, and these diagnostic centers.
Awesome. Wow, powerful, powerful, ma'am. Thank you so much. Very simple practices. But because people look for something fancy, like keto diet, that diet, this diet, but these are very, very simple, that doable things which you have told. But, uh, yeah, because they don't look fancy, maybe you may think that— underestimate the importance of this. But once you start implementing, you will see the power of those Panchatantras, uh, everybody here, right? So these are very, very simple, but like only the implementation can show you the results. Yes, great, awesome.
There's a lot of research done on this, uh, Arogya Rakshaka Panchatantra, and recently one paper also was published how efficiently it works. You know, each, each, even if you practice one also, it works excellent.
So that is the foundation, like in our community also, like especially we have advanced programs where the foundation is working on all these 5 areas. And one question many of them are asking, how is this Pancha Tantra applicable for diabetic person? Fasting, 2 meals a day, which—
in fact, for diabetes now, that is mantra. Okay, now, now, uh, most of the diabetic reversal programs has, uh, you know, intermittent fast, or, you know, the intermittent fast is a dicey word, um, for a True naturopath intermittent fasting is a cheating. See, gap between two meals cannot be called fasting. Fasting is missing meal. So fasting is very, very important even for diabetics. And there is one American, I think he's He's a nephrologist and he's also treating diabetes. He stopped practicing his thing, but he has completely shifted to now reversing diabetes. That too, he takes up only insulin-dependent diabetics, and under, of course, supervision, he takes them through fasting only, completely. 3-day fasting, 1-week fasting, just to completely reverse. Diabetes. So I'm not saying that start doing it. It has to be done under supervision. But yes, even diabetes can do fasting.
Yes. So that's why, like, I think you need to do under the supervision in case if you have those kind of queries. So we, we have naturopathy doctors in our community also. You can take the consultation, a Diamond membership. In the Diamond membership, we have naturopathy doctor. They will do and they will analyze your profile and they'll tell you. But all of these are very much applicable and they have thousands of case studies. It's not even 100, right? So I think thousands of case studies. The Institute of Naturopathy has done a lot of research on this, and so many natural naturopathy institutes are there, nature cure centers are there, um, across India, across the world. Not just, uh, from India, it's there in world, especially in Europe and different, different parts of the world. And everybody has done a lot of research on this. And, uh, like, there is a Naturopathy Day also in India, like, where they promote naturopathy and all of this. Yes, great, powerful, powerful. Thank you, thank you so much, ma'am. Uh, my next question, uh, to you is, so many people like, say, what is the role, uh, of, uh, the— what, what role do food timing, sunlight, water, and rest play in healing?
Come again.
What role, uh, that food timing, timing of the food we eat, sunlight exposure to sunlight, drinking water, or taking rest will play in healing?
Very much. Actually, as I told you, if we are an animal, every animal has a cycle, you know, uh, to put it properly, rhythms. So the entire universe and all organisms have rhythms. So we are linked to Sun, and the Sun movement has a direct bearing on our functioning, and all our endocrine functions are either activated or inhibited or diminished owing to Sun's movements. So it is known as organ clock. So our body has a clock, and at every 2 hours the clock keeps changing. I mean, the mode of the body's functions keep changing. So our food timings are very, very important. And when you get up, after you get up, within 4 to 6 hours, you, you, I mean, you are jittery, I mean, your digestive forces will peak. So you are expected to have your good meal after 3 or 4 hours after you get up and have full meal and then give again 6 to 8 hours gap for next meal. So that is, that is how your body is. And then beyond sunset, You are not expected to eat much. You are expected to actually— these lights and all have come for us to, you know, prolong our day. That doesn't mean that we continue to work in the night and then eat and then go for midnight dinners. And then all that is— you are unnecessarily draining yourself. It may give you temporary pleasure, at what cost? One should understand, once in a while, freaking is okay, but if it happens more frequently, to that extent, we also call it vital economy. We are also endowed with this vital capacity. All of us, each of us, at the time of birth itself, all of us have certain amount of vitality. This vitality gets— we suck from that and we have to recoup it. Recouping mechanisms are this: fasting, sleep, and then going close to nature. All these will pull it back, fill it back. But if we don't do it continuously, draw from this vital energy, then that gets depleted by when vital energy and vitality gets depleted, what we call immunity— immunity is only at biological sense, but vitality has a broader sense. It talks even about your mental abilities and then spiritual abilities. All that put together is vitality. That vitality gets eroded, so it is better We follow these timings and particularly eat when hungry and that too before 12 o'clock and after 2 to 3 hours after you get up and then again before sunset or just around sunset and don't eat much in the late nights and sleep well. And these are all have a very, very strong impact on health as well as disease. Healing is when you have disease, right? And exposure to not only sun, even moon and water, air, earth, all these have a say on your healing. So healing happens by going back to nature. So we use earth element also, we use air element also, water element also, and therapies to bring in those factors into the system because we are made of pancha bhutas. And the deficiencies of these result in imbalance. So to bring that balance back, all these elements are absolutely necessary in healing process.
Wow, wow. So like, as we today morning only we had a discussion that like we need exposure to all of those. And dear friends, I am also, I just discussed with ma'am regarding this. And how many of you are really interested in case if we do that exposure, Pancha Mahabhutas exposure and healing through Pancha Mahabhutas? Type me in the chat box if you are interested. Of course, you have to travel to that place. You have to travel to that place. Yeah, so it's not like you will be directly getting. So how many of you are ready to travel if we really host this? Wow, so many people are saying me, me, me, me. Okay, it will happen only in the villages. It cannot happen in cities. So you might be comfortable in traveling the city like, like Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and all. Is that okay if we do it in village, in a village, rural village? Type okay in the chat box if it is okay. Oh great, great. And you will not have luxuries over there, so because I will not have a luxurious, uh, like hotels and all of those. If that— is that okay with all of you? That is also okay. Great, great, great to know. So great to know that like many of them are open for that. And so we'll let you know in the soon, like especially we, we try, we wish to do one pilot and see how, how it goes. And I am also planning to visit once. Yeah, so the next question I would like to take.
So before, no, just to supplement the question, recently I don't know if it is already known to most of them who are listening now. There is this work that's happening is earthing. Yes, this earthing has become such an important thing now because we are living— our feet are not touching the earth ground as such. Most of the time we are wearing footwear or we are walking on such surfaces where it is not connected with the earth, and that is what is creating some kind of— for all our minute functions in the body, we produce lot of energy, literal energy. The energy that we produce can light one bulb. So that much energy we produce internally. All this also need to be earthed. So for regular electricity, the way we put earthing, we need earthing for our body also. Otherwise, the stress builds up in the body. That also can create what we call now free radicals. The free radicals are the ones which create minis and then leading to cancer. And stress-related emotional stress. So earthing has become such an important thing. And similarly, you know, tree hugging. So these are all things coming back, and there's a lot of science now they're trying to understand, because trees also can take a lot of your emotions and your negative energy. You can pass it on to tree. Tree tree can happily take from you. So these are the things I think, you know, recent things that have come up in a big way.
Yeah, even in the last retreat we have done that barefoot walking as well as tree hugging and all of this. It's very, very important, dear friends, like all these small, small things This does— this will not cost also, right? If you tell them something which is expensive, people are more interested. Like, this indication is very expensive. If you take this, this will happen. But very, very small things which are inexpensive, uh, like, can also give you the better results and, uh, more, uh, like, uh, quality results as well. Yeah. So my next question, uh, to you is what are the biggest daily mistakes people make that silently damage their health?
One is sedentary life. We are most of the time sitting and using, you know, gadgets for everything. We use remotes, and then we use vehicles, and we have everything no big physical activity. And physical activity means food also. You are not nurtured by food alone, but then with exercise also. So every movement brings in lot of air into the system. Air means oxygen, oxygen means burning, burning means energy. So true energy comes from mobility. So I feel people are obsessed with food, you know, but exercise also is equally important, and good sleep, and that too good night's sleep. That requires light pollution. What we are seeing, you know, everywhere lights and too much of lights and mobiles and all this is disturbing our rhythms in the brain. So that is also causing problems. Of course, eat when hungry. So we eat because it's time for breakfast, it's time for lunch, it's time for dinner, not because we are hungry. So eat when hungry and be mobile as much as possible and sleep well. I think if you Follow these 3 properly also, I'm sure beyond the age of 70, 80, you don't require any doctor, any, you know, major health problems. Otherwise, wear and tear will be there. Why worry? We slow down.
Got it. Sure, sure, ma'am. And what is naturopathy view on thyroid or metabolic disorders?
See, as I told you, we give names. You give n number of names to— there are so many diseases. If you start talking like that, I think there is no end to it. Every disease comes because of the same, what we discussed so far. If you ignore your body's functions for some time, only then it results in diseases which we think are incurable and/or require lifelong medication. I don't think that any disease is to be bracketed like that. You can get rid of any disease. You are born disease-free and you remain disease-free.
Yeah. So all the people who are asking about different kinds of diseases, I hope you got the answer. Because the labels are different. They're expecting something different activity. So they have been labeled with different names, they're expecting something different activities to be done. And one more question we have in the chat box is asking, is asking like, um, can we take the like natural treatments at the age of 66 also?
Of course, why not? What is 66? We get people at the age of 90s plus right now. If you go to any naturopathy hospital, most of them average age itself is beyond 60.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
No, no, but the moment—
naturopathy treatments are invasive or powerful that way. They're very, very simple. Like, it could be some massage or some foot bath or some tub bath or some steam bath or some kind of advanced medicine, maybe like nutraceuticals or some kind of ozone All these are very, very simple, so anybody at any age can do it.
Yeah, yeah. Again, people have started asking about ILD, stage 2 cancer, and neuro problems.
They, they, they, they can definitely adopt certain practices of naturopathy, and, uh, ozone can, uh, definitely help in, uh, you know, this kind of cases that you referred right now, ILD and cancers and tumors and any neoplasms, any, any kind of things, you know, ozone and nutritional medicine can work very well.
Yes. And also it cannot be one-word answer because we are not seeing you indirectly and it's very subjective. The problems are very subjective. I want all of you to understand because you just message, we cannot like answer that like, okay, like this is what, and we have to measure various parameters. That is where you need a personalized consultation with the proper naturopathy doctor, and they will evaluate and they will suggest you. Even when they give the therapy, they don't just give you like, you go for all of this. They'll give you what is required for you. So this I have seen only in NIN. Like, I thought like, I can pay for whatever I wish and I can go. It's not like that. Whatever I wish, I can pay and go. They will only give me whatever required for my body, my, my challenges, and what I want to achieve. In my life. Yes. Thank you. Thank you so much, ma'am. And I think one hand has been raised. I will just ask, Ashaji, would you like to— what would you like to share? You are there in NAIN also. Yes, go ahead.
Good evening, madam. Very happy to meet you again after one year. It was last year I met you there at NAIN. And I still remember the lectures which you gave us, introduced us to naturopathy, giving the history of naturopathy, reference to Mahatma Gandhi, how he practiced, all that I still remember. And I can't forget the day when I had the privilege of attending a havan after the end of our retreat. Early morning we had a havan. I was fortunate to be there and then walked with you around the NIM campus And that, that is something wonderful. And all the things what you have talked has been— I am attracted to naturopathy from the day I attended the retreat. And then in December, I attended one week of therapy session at NAM, once again reinforcing what I believed. And the result of that is last week I had my annual checkup, and with the cardiologist I was discussing, and the cardiologist listened to me telling about the yogic practices which I am following in CBH, which has helped me to control my BP and cholesterol, and both of them were within limit. And she accepted that, yes, your lifestyle is such that you don't need a medicine. So for the last 12 years, I was under medication for BP and cholesterol, but today I am medicine-free, all because of naturopathy only. That is what I wanted to tell you. And you talked about 2 meals a day, Madam. Uh, we have been used to 3 meals— breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Uh, do you think that, uh, we can easily change over to the 2 meals?
Yeah, this is actually— everyone asked this question. The 3-meal thing had come because of Britishers, actually. It was, it was easy for them, for them to control us with this, you know, timings, 10 to 5. So that 10 to 5 required us to, you know, have breakfast, go there with some lunchbox, and then eat there, and then do that and then come back. So, but human body, what is human body? Human body requests, so what you want to eat as breakfast, have full brunch, breakfast come lunch.
Okay.
And then give minimum 5 to 6 hours gap and then have your dinner, early dinner. So late lunch, late I would not say late breakfast and then early dinner. And in between, if you feel like wanting to have something, some fruit or some juice or something, should be sufficient. And one cup of tea here and there, coffee once in a while is okay. You know, one should not take life so seriously that you should stop everything and We are not living in, you know, in jungles. Of course, we have society around, we live with the society around, we have to follow the societal compulsions and norms, but cannot violate forever and then be healthy. If you want to avoid doctors and all that, some amount of discipline has to be brought in. And it is comfortable also. It's not that, you know, it's non-doable. And it's quite doable and easy, and you feel lighter and energetic. You do it and then see. Right.
Thank you, Madam. That I think I will change over the 3 meals to 2 meals, have brunch, what we had in the NIM. We had brunch and evening dinner only.
Yes.
I think I will change over. As it is, my breakfast time is also delayed. I have around 10:30 only my breakfast.
So instead of that, that itself can be your lunch. Correct. Yeah. And at lunchtime, you can have some fruit.
Right.
Yeah.
Thank you. Thank you very much, Madam.
Yes, thank you so much.
Thank you.
Yeah, I will sum up with this shloka.
Thank you.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti. That is complete and this is complete. This which comes from that does not deprive that of anything. A child born to a mother will not deprive mother of anything. A child also becomes complete. Mother remains complete. I think with this message, we go back and then nurture health, not out of fear, but with positive feeling. Thank you so much.
