A father who ran half-marathons realized his strict, physically punitive parenting was harming his family. After joining the CBH program, he stopped beating his kids, found emotional calm, and now supports his son's interests instead of demanding perfection.
When I started running, I understood that my breath is not on par with my speed. Any person who really wants to be fully happy, I understood how illiterate I was. To be frank, yes, I also have health problems, but they were emotional health problems. But I never either thought of being emotionally, mentally, and spiritually happy. And a lot of us are just having no clue where to do what when things go wrong, and we end up in hospitals.
And Shravan, tell me, like, you have mentioned that in the last speech I was a Hitler before.
In that process, I expected everything to be perfect. I expected every person to be perfect. And those people who were close to me, those people who were responsible for my success, those people who were loving me, all I was doing was point out their mistakes. Completely strict. I need to be completely strict with my kids. No friendship. Just say, just order. Do this, do that. Wake up at this time, sleep at this time. Eat only this kind of food. All I was doing was not parenting, but more of a controlling. So probably first what I do I go, I tell them, I instruct them. If they do, sometimes I used to beat my kid. These are the mind-blowing awakenings which I had after joining CBH. Coming back to half marathons, with that inspiration, I think I ran 6 to 7 half marathons last year, which I understood only after joining CBH that, okay, there are multiple things which I need to set right, and this is the right place for that. After joining CBH, the same person who used to beat kids who used to beat his son, is healing his son now. And he's helping his son focus, he's helping his son achieve medals, he's helping his son pursue his own interest. I think I'm still the same person that I used to be before, but emotionally calm, with clarity.
