You may be going through something, but how long until you get over it? Let's talk about that. When you go through loss, whether it's through the death of a loved one or a divorce, the loss of a job, financial freedom, health, or your life as you knew it, you tend to wonder, when is this gonna be over? When am I gonna get over it? Or maybe it's not you the one wondering. It's people demanding you to get over it. It's people not understanding that you may need more time. How long until you get over it? I've been asked this question, and I've heard a lot of my clients ask it as well. And the truth is that there's no specific answer for any given situation. But there is an answer to every situation, and I will give it to you. Number one. The first step to getting over something is by feeling it. You're going through pain, grief, sadness. Feel it. The only way to overcome pain is by feeling it. The only way around is through. So the first step is embr. Pain. Welcome it. Tell yourself, this is what I'm feeling, and it's okay. I accept this situation exactly the way that it is. If you are a person of faith, you can even practice the welcoming prayer, which is the same thing you say, lord, I welcome this feeling that I'm experiencing, and I hand it over to you. You accept that moment, that feeling, and you allow yourself to feel it. That's the first step. You know, Joseph Campbell, the cave that you fear to enter is the one that holds the treasure that you seek. Pain is just that. It's that cave that you don't want to go into because it doesn't feel good. But it's the cave that holds the. Because of the loss of my daughter, I decided to be joyful again. I had no idea what that was going to look like or how I was going to get there. But I made the decision anyway. And I trusted and fully believed that God, the universe, the electric power, whatever you believe in, was going to guide me there. I believed. So when you make a decision, make sure that you have faith in it. That you believe that even though you have no clue of how you're going to get there, you will. You will download that information from the universe, where, or from God. When you believe in a decision, it's easier to then start acting in ways that are going to lead you to it. So if you want to be happy again, if you want to move forward after your divorce, if you want to overcome adversity, then start doing things that are aligned with that. Engage in habits that are going to lead you there, and surround yourself by the people that are going to support you in the process of doing that. If you choose joy but you go to a support group in which all they talk about is the pain of losing your child and not being able to overcome that after 10 years, 15 years, then that may not be the place for you. There's a place for everybody. Make sure that your habits and behaviors and activities are aligned with that decision. If your choice is to have a happier marriage, remember that I do is a daily promise. Make sure that your habits, activities, routines are aligned with that decision that you've made.
