January 29, 2026-Cohort 8

In this two‑hour virtual coaching session, facilitator Betsy Guerra leads a diverse cohort (Erica, Carla, April, Inés, Joyi, and others) through a deep dive into daily spiritual‑psychological practices and personal obstacles. The conversation centers on the SAVERS routine (Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, Scribing) with a particular emphasis on silence as the foundational container for divine connection. Participants share struggles with ADHD‑like distractibility, the need for background music, and difficulty transitioning into quiet. Betsy offers concrete strategies: start with one minute of silence, use guided or self‑directed breathing, integrate silence into existing routines (e.g., after scripture, before gym), and experiment with music‑backed meditations. The group also explores the distinction between surrender, acceptance, and allowing, applying these concepts to parenting challenges. Carla and others discuss a teenage son who repeatedly arrives late to school, revealing patterns of control, self‑fulfilling negative self‑talk, and the need to re‑program his subconscious with affirmations that honor his emerging responsibility. Betsy advises parents to speak future‑oriented, positive statements to their children, visualizing the child’s mature self and treating them as if the change has already occurred. Practical logistics are addressed: participants are asked to document their daily practices in a shared Google Doc/Sheet, report minutes of silence, and commit to specific affirmations and visualizations. Schedule adjustments for the cohort (moving Tuesday sessions to Wednesday, upcoming masterclass dates) are announced. The tone remains supportive, pastoral, and instructional, blending English and occasional Spanish, and the session concludes with gratitude and encouragement for continued practice.
Chapters
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lord, we're going to begin by centering our senses upon your presence. We're going to do that by taking a deep breath. We're going to take a moment of silence to bring our attention to our eyesight. With our eyes closed, what can we see? Is it dark? Are there little stars? Is there light coming in? Is there an image that pops up? We know, Lord, that what's essential can only be seen through the heart, not through the eyes. So we ask that you help us use our eyes as a tool, as an instrument to see what you want us to see, but never depend solely on our eyesight. We redirect our attention to our smell, the sense of smell, and take a moment to smile around. What can you smell? Maybe as you focus on smell, you inhale deeply and release. We shift to taste. What flavors do we still have in our mouth? Now we focus on touch. We pay attention to where our body connects with the chair. And. And maybe any tension we have in our body, any body ailment, just do a body scan real quick and feel. And lastly, we take a moment to hear, to listen what sounds are around us. Maybe there are some subtle ones that we don't usually pick up on. We're gonna listen. There's. There's that little sound every time someone comes in. But what else is around me? What am I listening to? What can I hear? And maybe even open up to see if there's something that God tells. Lord, as we center our senses upon your presence, we consent to your action within us. We ask that we may think and feel and perceive and interpret like you do. May we have your wisdom to discern, to interpret, and to. To be an extension of you. Like a wave in the ocean. We welcome you. We love you. We receive you. We ask that you be the one in charge today. We love you like crazy. Amen. Take a deep breath, and when you're ready, open your eyes. Okay, now we are ready. Before we begin, I wanted to give an opportunity to Erica to introduce herself. Erica was working Tuesday and Wednesdays. She didn't have an opportunity, the opportunity to join us. But I believe she's caught up with the recordings. So, Erika, tell us a little bit about you. Why you are the most amazing person in the universe. So you're gonna start by you tell us whatever you want. I'm a mom. I'm a wife. I'm lo que tu quiera interior designer. And then you say, I am the most amazing person in the universe. Because.
Because you said it.
Because I say so. Sorry.
No. Well, I'm Erica. I'm going to be 52 in April. I'm from Mexico. I've been in Miami for 26 years. I have a 23 year old and a 14 year old. What else? I have a company that does everything in a house from designing to sell art to organizing to move people. So sometimes I'm very busy, sometimes not. And what else? Well, nothing. I like to work out. I like. I love animals. That's my. When I want to calm myself down, I like to be with my dogs or like watch videos of animals. I'm very like child in that aspect. And what else? Nothing. I'm the most amazing person because I exist. That's.
Amen to that. Amen to that. And what do you hope to receive in this program and what are you willing and eager to give?
Well, yesterday I listened to the zoom that you had yesterday and it's everything like the two whole hours and I don't know, I don't. I don't have a lot of information about like what do I have to. What do I have to do or what do I want to do. But I think that when something like this comes in my life, like this type of challenge, that it's having your, Your course and your certification, it's because something good has to happen. So I, I'm not, I'm not. I'm actually, I stop a. Like since a couple of years ago, like expecting anything. I just like. I just like surrender to the universe and to God to see what's. What's for me. So I don't know.
So I surrender. Your word?
Surrender is my. Yes. I was, I was like listening to the zoom yesterday and surrender could be my, My word, but also like acceptance. Like sometimes it takes for me too long to accept things. I always like to change things or like to fix things. So that has always been my problem. I'm very like control freaks. And when something bad happens, I always want to fix it. So I found myself sometimes like too much into the problem and so worry about fixing it. That sometimes I fix it. But I like broke myself. I break myself, you see. So it's like. So sometimes I just have to accept things that happens in life and go with the flow. Like trying to fix it, but not as hard as I used to do it because it takes the life away from me because it's too much. So it could be surrender, but also acceptance. And I don't know, I really want for this certification, it's like to be closer. Like I told you the other time, like, I really want to feel closer to God. I mean, I love him. I always pray since I was. I'm a Catholic, but lately we've been going to the Christian church and I love that. And actually I love every religion. I think other religions have amazing, amazing things. But I need to feel that connection to God that gives me peace, like, because I know things are gonna be okay. But since I'm a control freak, I'm always trying to fix things and I don't let life to happen. You see, I'm always like fixing and running everywhere around my life and people's life to fixing things. And I really need to let go and be like more connected to God and, and feel the. This word. That is like how you say it in English.
It's like when you, you can say it in Spanish.
When you really like, you see, when you trust. Because sometimes I'm like, should I trust? Because I know it's going to be okay, but it hasn't been okay. So I'm like, my mind starts like, you know, like to feel that something bad is going to happen. And then I work with the other part of my mind that is that nobody's going to to be okay. You have to surrender.
It's going to be okay.
But then. So I have this conflict in my mind. So connection with God, surrender and acceptance of things. I don't know.
That's it.
Okay, I'm taking notes. He longs for acceptance. Acceptance is your word because you've mentioned it so many times. They help me create an intention for her. Okay, let me share my screen so that you can look. Did you come up with your intention, Carla, or you haven't been able to? I know yesterday was a hard day.
Yeah, I'm. I'm a little behind.
Okay, I can help you with it. Or maybe I'll. Maybe I'll just help you. Like, let's focus on the root, the daily practice today or while they do a little bit of work on that. Then maybe you and I can go into a breakout room or talk a little bit and, and help you with that. Okay, so let's see. She's been living from this equation. I. If I don't fix it, everything will fall apart. God is inviting her into. I can be at peace even when things are unresolved. This semester, I choose acceptance over control, releasing the need to fix what drains me and surrendering daily into deeper trust with God so I may feel held, guided and at peace, even when life is uncertain, does that resonate? I practice acceptance and surrender. Letting go of control and allowing God to meet me with peace, trust, and presence. When moment at a time, I release control and choose surrender, deepening my connection with God and trusting his presence to carry me even when circumstances remain unresolved.
Yeah, Yeah, maybe this is light is softer version that surrender. Let it go on Control. Allowing God to meet me with peace, trust, and presence.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Okay. I like all of it. Okay, so we go here, Erica. And then your word is acceptance. Like I've. I've heard it loud and clear. Mm. Okay. All righty. Okay, so today. Thank you, Erica. Today we are going to talk about daily practices in order to embody. And that's going to be the most important pillar. We talked about mastering human understanding. That's PhD level education and psychology. We talked about spirituality. And the most important one that holds everything together is embodiment. Because that means that you are being the thing that we are learning. So we want you to learn it, but we want you to be it. We want you to integrate it. And daily practices and rituals are what help us do that. Habits. You know, they say that we become what we repeatedly do. That this is. This is important, right? Like we get to be intentional about creating habits or repeatedly doing something that's going to lead us to. To embodying that which we intend to experience and fulfill. So I. You're gonna have. We have a masterclass on habit formation coming up soon that you get to use for this and your us coaches get to support your clients and vice versa. But for now, I wanted to share something a little simpler so that it's easy to follow. And I love this formula that I.
Know.
Christine is familiar with. It's called the Savers formula. You have the link on the chat. Let me see. Because we have a few links here. Okay. So in the chat we have the savers excel sheet. That's for you guys to enter your information. So we'll have a little bit of time now for you to do that.
And.
And then I'm going to share my screen to share the actual information. Okay. Where did I put it? Okay. Can you see it? Yes. Okay, we can see it. Okay. So small. This is a morning practice created by Hall Elrod and his. He has a beautiful story. He had, funny enough, he had not. Not funny, but interestingly enough, he experienced cancer. And this. This process, this framework that he had already created and it had gone viral and whatnot, and it Got him through it and, you know, he thought there was not too much hope. And he's. He's a survivor and, and he's doing really great work. So. Savers is. Is an acronym that helps us remember things that if we were to focus on them every single morning, we will create a life of significance. I'm going to share this. April, can you share this link for them to have? It's. It's in your workbook, just so you know. Seven practice 17 and 18. So you don't have to worry about doing anything with this or even looking at it.
Send it in the.
In the chat. Okay, perfect. So I want to start with the S and Saviors to me, by the way. I'm going to share what each one of them means, and I invite you to incorporate as many as you can. But I am interested in you incorporating two, at least two parts of the morning routine, whichever ones support you most deeply. So I want you to have your intention in your. In your heart and in your mind as we do this exercise. And you get to ask yourself of these practices that I've been wanting to adopt. Which ones are priorities in creating, in. In creating the intention and fulfilling the intention that I would love to experience. So I invite you to. To. To be. Have grace with yourself. We don't want to incorporate 20,000 habits at the same time. That's not sustainable. It's not going to work. I don't want that. Like, I want whatever you do to work all the way to the end of the four months. And for that, you get to set yourself up for success. And when you get to the habits masterclass real soon, I think it's at the end of the month, you. That'll give you a little more information as to how to become better if you see that you're having a hard time, really like, incorporating the habit. So if I were to recommend two very important habits or rituals for any person in the universe, I would say silence and movement. Silence is anything that you do to connect with the divine wisdom, which, you know, could be meditation. It could be silent prayer. Silent prayer is meditation, including God, like consenting to God's presence and actions. So it's pretty much the same thing. Even like, you know, Catholics pray rosaries, and we think like, that's just like repeating mindlessly, but the repetition sounds like. Serves as a mantra. So it's also a very like, if. If you do it with love and intention, not just, oh, I'm just gonna like, do this just to do this. If you do it with intention. You're. You're meditating. You're meditating on the life of Jesus and the Hail Marys and whatnot. Like, may serve as, like, kind of like mantras. And that repetition, like, puts you in a state of stillness and silence and whatnot. So I invite you to. To practice silence. Silence. Even if it's just sitting there in bed five minutes or the nine minutes of the snooze and inviting God in, if it's doing a reflection of your day at night, inviting God in. Whatever silence, whatever time of silence, solitude and stillness you offer to God, he's going to bless. I promise you. I. I feel like this is part of what healed me after losing my daughter. I knew all the tools, all the skills, all the things, and nothing supported me more than silence. And I believe silence is the language of God. It's when you. When you create that space, you can hear him because his voice is subtle and kind and gentle and calm. So it cannot compete with the noise. And if you're like me, you're busy, busy, busy and always on the go, and you have a lot of things on your plate. So that moment of silence is like an invitation to be like, okay, let's go, let's go. You. You know, I. I really am giving you the wheel. I'm not just saying it. So I really, really invite you to. To consider silence as a priority. The. I. Sorry, I need to. I want to share my screen again. Okay. Silence is also great for anxiety and, you know, breathing. Breathing practices, mindful practices. What we did today of centering our senses, that's mindfulness, that silence, reflections, like I love lectio divina. Lectio divina is when you listen to scripture or read scripture. You like a short verse two to three times in a very meditative state, calm state. And then you just stop and. And reflect on what God is wanting to tell you through that. So lectio divina is more about listening to God and silent prayer is more about connecting and allowing him to. To think for you, pray for you, on behalf of you. All the things, right? Like for him to take over. Then we have the A is affirmations. Affirmations. As you may know, we're going to talk about it in one of the master classes. But these are declarations or statements that we make of. Of what we would like to believe. Like, so we declare and we state what we wish was true in our minds, but not ne. It isn't necessarily true. And it's a way of reprogramming. Our subconscious mind. So if I'm struggling with finances and I'm constantly thinking like, I'm broke, all this debt, I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm never going to get out of debt. I can affirm, I can reprogram my subconscious mind, which is constantly thinking about debt, debt, debt, debt, debt. I can reprogram it into. Into believing that I am abundant. I am abundant. The affirmations in that sense could be, I'm abundant, money is flowing my way, God is always providing. Come on. There's a scripture that I use a lot, like I've used when I've been struggling in my finances. In English, it translates to, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. I like it in Spanish better because it's, it's like I like nothing. I like nothing, right? Like I have it all. So I, you know, like whatever affirmation mantra, scripture, something like serves you to anchor yourself in a. In and reprogram your mind to believe something that it doesn't yet believe. That's an affirmation. And an affirmation has three. I call it the three Ps. It should include the three Ps. Number, this is. I made this up. So you're not going to find this anywhere else. Number one, it needs to be positive, meaning I invented the 3Ps but the concept is true for everybody who truly knows affirmations. The one is the first P is positive, meaning the subconscious mind does not pay attention to the negatives. If you say, I am not afraid, the subconscious mind. Subconscious mind picks up on afraid. If you say, I am, I am not dumb, it picks up on dumb. When you tell your kids, do not play with fire. They hear fire. Play with, play fire, right? Like, so the subconscious mind doesn't pick up on the negatives. Therefore, instead of saying, I am not afraid, we get to say, I am courageous, I am bold, I am capable, I am all the things, right? Like, so substitute the negative. I mean the, the word or the description that you're trying to move away from. Like fear for faith, courage, whatever, right? Like for the opposite. So if you're saying like, oh my gosh, I'm, you know, I'm so ugly. Don't say, I am not ugly. Say I am beautiful. If you think, I have a terrible marriage, my marriage is falling apart, then change it into, I have a fulfilling marriage. I am, you know, I am beautiful. I am smart, I am capable. I got this. I like. It's always positive. It's not, not or don't. It is also present. When you say an affirmation, you're saying it in the present moment as if it was already true. Now, because it gets to be already true for your subconscious mind, and then you can manifest that into your physical reality. So instead of saying, I will make money, I will be abundant, I will be successful, you say, I am abundant. I am successful. So it's always in the present moment. And the last P is power. It gets to be emotionally powerful. If you're talking to your. If you're wanting to reprogram your subconscious and for the. You know, for the affirmations to really work and do the work that we want them to do, which is reprogram the things that are not serving us in our subconscious, we must sound convincing, and emotions play a big role in convincing them. So you. If you say, like, yeah, have all the money in the world because that's what Betsy wants me to say, or I'm beautiful, or like, I'm not scared, your subconscious mind is gonna be like, what? Like, if you notice when somebody tells you something, the emotion that accompanies what they say matters more than the. The thing that they say. Like, if somebody says, like, I love you, do you believe them? Like, do you believe the words I love you, or do you believe more the emotion that it was conveyed with, like, yeah, I love you. That's why we give mixed signals, right? Like, you're safe with me, but God forbid, you know, you don't think the way I do.
I like.
So. So it's important to. For our emotions to be aligned with the thing that we're telling our subconscious so that it may believe through affirmations. So the 3Ps powerful present and emotionally. Emotionally powerful present and positive visualization. I notice that that's something that you can incorporate in, you know, while I'm exercising, I could be like, I got this. You know, Like, I can be doing an exercise and affirming. I am. Sometimes I'm in the car and I'm repeating the thing consistently. I am fulfilled. I am. I am abundant. I am capable. I am loved. I am healthy. I am whatever it is that you are connecting with the most. These days. Visualization is an exercise that you can also compound or complement with silence. The. The examine. The conscientia is a practice that St. Ignatius incorporated. And it's a way of. At night, it's such a good practice that incorporates so many things. At night, it. You re. You know, you. You're in silence, solitude, and stillness. You're you know, maybe you're in bed, ready to go to sleep, and you invite the Holy Spirit in to help you remember your day. And then you revisit your day. You go through the entire day and you're like, what happened in the morning? What did I do? How did I show up? Who did what? You know, who did I see? Whatever. You revisit your day and you look for three things. Number one, where was God? Where were there some, like, little miracles or blessings or angelitos, you know, little angels that showed up for you? Where was it the lights were all green when you were running late, therefore you made it on time. You were missing something, and someone else showed up with exactly what you needed. I don't know what were the miracles, because sometimes we take them for granted. So it's an opportunity to go back and create awareness and again have an opportunity to live in the game and gain and in gratitude. And then, number two, you're going to look for, in which ways was I my best self? Like, oh, I responded to the kids with grace instead of being irritable, or my husband usually drives me crazy and I have no patience with him or I'm so upset at him and I was graceful or like, you know, today I didn't dwell on feeling, like, dwelling on the situation with my health or my financial situation. Like, oh, you know, pat yourself in the back, like, recognize that. And then number three, in that examine the consciencia is you're also looking for in which ways were you not your best self? So the way he says it is like sin. I see sin as separation. In which ways was I separated from God, from the better version of myself? And you can always, that's not to, like, you know, that's not to punish yourself or feel shame, but rather to create awareness. And you can even set it as an intention the next day and be like, today I am going to be graceful. Today I'm not going to scream, right? So you can, you can. It's. It's more than anything to. To rel. Hindsight is 20 20. So when you relive your day, you can see it more clearly. And that develops your sense of awareness, which is the most important part of any transformation or change. If you're aware of something not being the best thing ever, then you have the power to change it. But if you don't even know there's a problem, then there's just nothing to do. So visualization. So visualization is what he talks about. And when you're doing the exam in the conscientia after revisiting your day, you could even visualize it the way you wish it would have been. For it to be completely aligned with your vision and your what excites you. Or you can follow that with imagining something that you've been longing for. Like some of you really want to be life coaches and, and live their purpose by serving and elevating humanity. Others may, may be longing for that moment in which you're debt free and you, you know, you, you feel abundant and you can be as generous as you want to be with yourself and others. And you don't have to worry or think about numbers. And you could put all your bills in auto pay because you, you have enough to, to, to, to pay all the things that you're responsible for. Others may, may visualize the moment in which you are completely healthy. And you, you know, you go and you ring the bell if it's a cancer. And you go and, and, and the doctors tell you everything's perfect, I don't want to see your face again. And you can visualize a moment that would help you feel like I made it. I've, I did this exercise with. By the way. This is a very, very, very, very, very powerful exercise for manifesting. If you want to manifest something in your life, begin by visualizing it so that your subconscious mind can believe it. It's also a way of reprogramming your mind because the subconscious mind doesn't know how to differentiate truth from fantasy. So if a reality, physical reality from fantasy. So if you visualize something and it is real in your subconscious, that's believes it's already true. And it helps and supports you recognize the opportunities to lead you to manifest that. And that's why when you go to the movies and you watch something that's really sad, you're like crying and why are you crying? That's not true. That's a movie. It's an actor. That didn't really happen. Get over it. It's because our subconscious mind doesn't know that it's a movie. It's, you know, believes whatever you tell it, whatever you input in it. And visions or visualizations like images are stronger than words. That's why visualization is so, so powerful. So let's say at night you have the prayer practice of examine the conscientia that increases awareness, that is silence with God. So it's a way of connecting ever so deeply. You're doing it before you go to sleep. When you go to sleep, your subconscious mind is Working, operating while you, while your conscious mind is sleeping. So then you're reprogramming it more, you know, faster. And if you include a vision in there, then it is, is a. It is a lot easier to, to manifest, to reprogram because it works on the belief. And belief is the, the thing that ignites faith is the thing that ignite, ignites manifestation, you know, manifesting the things that you desire. So visualization is seeing the thing in your mind, in your imagination, before you're able to express it into your physical reality and see it with your eyes. You see it with your heart first. And I think that's what faith is about, believing in what you cannot see. The E in savers stands for exercise or any type of movement. And I want to invite you to consider dropping the all or nothing mentality, which I was very familiar with. I sometimes thought, like, if I'm not going to do 45 minutes of exercise or a good 30 minutes or whatever, I'm not going to. That's it.
I'm.
I couldn't work out today, and my coach taught me. Actually, Kara was my coach at that time. The other girl in the trifecta, I was in one of her programs, and she taught me, like, don't engage with all or nothing. 10 minutes is better than nothing. So I would do like a burpee challenge that's 10 minutes long. And like, I'm going to say what it is just in case you want to do it one day. Like, I had this rule that I'm not going to. I'm not going to shower until I've worked out. So sometimes I was ready to go shower and I'm in cueto, but naked in the bathroom. Like, oh, I have to work out. So I would close the door, put the timer on my thing, on my phone, and I would do 10 burpees in the, in the, on the floor, La fomra, because it was cold. And I would like, you know, do burpees. 10. 10 burpees in one minute. And then if I finished within, you know, within 45 seconds, 50 seconds, then I had 10 seconds to rest until the next minute. 10 more. I would end up doing 100 burpees in 10 minutes. I promise you, that's a workout. You're dying and you're sore for a whole week after that. 10 minutes. 10 minutes. You can't tell me you have 10 minutes. 10 minutes to walk, to walk around the block. 10 minutes to do, you know, push ups or push ups, squats and jumping jacks. Or whatever, right? Like this guy, how Elrod would do, he was in the hospital for the whole process with cancer or in a hotel room when he was in, I think MD Anderson or one of those. And he would. He would work out in his room. He would, you know, like get a bench or something and do step ups in there, like for 10 minutes. So he's all about doing, by the way, he's all about doing all six of these in an hour. So 10 minutes each. Or you can combine affirmations with the exercise. So he would be doing step ups while doing the affirmations. That's exercise. Move your body. When you move your body, you release endorphins. You. You know, you burn calories, which makes you feel good. After you release energy you like, it just shifts your energy. I remember one time being at my. I was in a workshop at my office and I was super upset about something. I was really frustrated about something we were discussing. And my. The mentor that was provide doing the workshop for us, she was like, she was coaching us. And our team was like, okay, Betsy, looks like you're not in the mood to do this, so let's take a break maybe. Let's move our bodies. So I put reggaeton because you can take the Puerto Rican out of Puerto Rico, but you can't take Puerto Rico out of La Boricua. And it's in my. In my veins. So I put a little bit of gasolina and started booty dancing, whatever. Moving, everybody, everything shift. I couldn't believe it because I was so pissed off. I was so frustrated. And it just changed. Everything changed. So exercise, move your body. Take this. Take the stairs when you go to the. The. You know, when I'm traveling a lot and I'm all day in the airport or doing something, I always take the stairs. And I've taught my kids to do the same. Don't take the escalator. Don't take the elevator. Take the stairs. Don't take the train. If you can. Obviously there are places that you have to take the train to get to the next terminal, but in Miami, you don't have to take the train. You can just walk, right? So. So be mindful about moving your body. R in reading stands for. I mean, the R in savers stands for reading. And you're already doing plenty of that, so you can check it off. You're welcome to read more if you want to. Reading means learning. It could be reading, could be podcasting, listening to a podcast. It could be listening to an audiobook. It could be reading an actual book. It could be going to a conference. Reading means always be learning something new, expanding your mind, creating new neural pathways. Like, always be learning, growing, developing, sharpening the saw. And then the S in savers stands for scribing, which is journaling. Scribing is about, like, writing down on paper. Like, the things that maybe, like, you know, that's why they say that when you. When you. When you write your goals, you have a greater likelihood of them becoming a reality. And that's why, like, even doing vision boards, because, like, so writing is amazing, but images are even more powerful. That's. That's why people do vision boards. Or I have a vision planter that I did with my students last year in our retreat, because images speak louder than words. But, like, writing and scribing is extremely, extremely, extremely important. It's also a way of processing. There's an exercise that I've used with clients I'm going to. I'm always going to share as much as I can, even if it's out of class, because I may not remember to say this in the class that it would be more appropriate, but we are. Like, one of the exercises that I've. That I've offered to my clients when they're looking for guidance and discernment on a question or decision that they have, is to journal to God, right? Like, my journal is always to God. I. I speak to him when I write. And. And then when you're done, like, just complain. Tell them all the things, all your dark, dark thoughts, or all of it, like, have a pity party with him. Journal, all of that. And when you're done, ask him to write back to you, to use you as a vessel, as an instrument, and to pick up your pencil, the pencil that's in your hand and move your hand, and then you write from God to yourself. And. Oh, my M.G. i. I did this exercise in Animaeus, a retreat within a month after losing my daughter. And God revealed to me that I was going to have another daughter. We were supposed to. My husband was supposed to have a vasectomy the week that my daughter died. And, you know, and that was a form of hope, right? Like, in trying to understand how could this happen? Or, you know, that it was. It was like a ray of sunshine in my journey. And it was revealed. I didn't. I was like. Because I was trying to write another word. And I kept on writing. Oh, gosh, I've. Hold on, let me think. If I can think of it in Spanish. When you, when you make love and you make a baby. What. What are you doing? Starts with an R. Conceived. No, such as the C. Conceived. Conceived. Right, like you conceived a baby. The conception. So I was trying to write some, some other word. Like, Like. No, Conceivo. Like, I don't know, like. And I kept on saying.
Con.
I don't remember right now. I need to go back to that letter. But it was. I, I was trying to say a different word and I kept on saying that word and I'm like, no, that's not the word I'm trying to say.
Like.
And I kept on wanting to change it and then I was like, Like.
You might have been saying.
Right, Yeah, I can't, I can't remember. I can't remember. If I go back and I. And I see it, I'll let you know. But it was something like that. And I kept on going. It kept like, it kept. Whatever. I'm not going to dwell on it. It kept on going, coming back to that. And I, like, so much so that I just couldn't go to the next word. And I was like, oh, my gosh. So the girls in Emmaus went and bought me a pregnancy test and everything. It was negative. And one of them said, she's a little witch. Titi. She was like, I, I. Mine was negative and it was positive. Like, you never know. You never know. A couple weeks later, I found out I was pregnant. And when you do the math, my daughter was born nine months after the other one passed, which is when I had my last period. So it would make sense that I was already pregnant then. And if I wasn't, it doesn't matter. It was, to me, it was like a revelation. So I believe wholeheartedly in this, in this practice, because it, if you let him, he's gonna manifest himself and he's so abundant and he's a show off. God is a show off. So, like, when he. When you ask, he's like, let's go and let me go all out. So I think that's like a beautiful practice and it's part of scribing. So if you're ever looking for answers, I think that's a good way of doing an exercise that you as a human can connect with and give God the opportunity to show off. Okay, so that's scribers for you. I would love to spend some time. You also have a link here in the chat, April. Maybe we put it again just so that it's the last link. I'll do it. I'll do it right Here. All right, I did, I did it. Don't worry.
Okay.
Okay. So when you come here, there's. There's a Google sheet that you get to fill out and put your information in. Like, what are you committing to during these four months? Like, what practices are you committing to? And then. Or, or what practices? Okay, first write down the practices that you are already committed to that are already ingrained. Like, for me, I practice silence every day of my life. Like, it doesn't matter where I'm at, what I'm doing. I usually go to the Blessed Sacrament when I'm in my regular routine. I, you know, and it's easy because I drop off my kids and then I just get off and go to the chapel. And it's. I need it, I need it. So I know that I, I don't need to commit to that because it's already part of me. I work out regularly also, so that's already something that's instilled. If you don't have any, then we focus on two. But if you already have, then we keep those and we. Or we take them to another level and we add two more at least. I just want to make sure that you're not adding anything that feels like more work. No, no, this is supposed to support you, not to add more work to your life. I'll be here. You can work on that. But then you can also unmute yourself and process with me if you have questions as to which ones you should prioritize to make sure that those are the ones. Those are the practices that are supporting your intention the most. And there's no order. Just.
So with the sheet that you shared.
On the Excel, what do we do? Just put an X on the category.
That we're going to.
For which one we're going to do.
No, no, you're going to write what you're going to do about it. Like in detail. So for example, if for silence, I'm going to. At some point I decided this, right? Like, I am going to go to the Blessed Sacraments every day to do that. I had to change my entire work schedule. I used to work at start at 8, so now I had to start at 8:30 so that, you know, to have that time before I got to work, I started with five minutes, and then I went up to 30, 45 minutes, depending on my. What my schedule allows at the time or how much I needed. The more the busier I am, the longer I stay. And so I want details like, what are you going to do for silence? Are you going to meditate? Are you going to do lectio divina, which is listening to scripture and then being silent? In the Hallow app, they have lectio divina. Like, it's awesome. It's not called that. So if you're interested, just let me know and I'll tell you how to get there. Are you gonna pray a rosary every day? Are you gonna just practice regular meditation and come up with your mantra? You know, if it's affirmations, what affirmations are you going to repeat? And when. Like, I want this scheduled on your. On your calendar. Like, this is not something that we're like, oh, yeah, I'm going to do that. When. When I. Whenever I have time. No, no, no, no, no. We're planning ahead. We're putting it in. We're blocking it. And maybe. So I want to. Solid ones, but maybe you say, I'm always going to take the stairs. I'm going to park far. I'm going to. I don't know, whatever, Whatever, whatever. To move my body more. If you're not ready to commit to, like, an exercise routine, for example. Right. But, yeah, I know you're driving, so if you want to share and I write it for you or if you want to process anything.
Okay.
That'll be great.
Okay.
So I've never done the silence because I. I only talk, so I'm never in silence. For me, it's. I'm the opposite. And I actually never thought of, like. I always think of, like, meditation as, like, something that, like, I don't know, people have a lot of time to do. And, like, it's kind of boring for me, to be quite honest, because I. I'm also, like, always thinking about something. So in my mind, I'm always like. I'm not very good at listening. I'm very good at talking and talking to my brain, but I'm never good at listening. So that would be something I would like to work on.
Yes. Yes.
Silence. Yeah.
Yes.
A lot of people think, I can't. I can't. I can't. I'm like, my mind is too crazy, and I just.
I can't be.
I can't put it in blank, and I can't. You don't need to put your mind. Your mind on blank. Like, you know, that's. You can't. Right. Like that. You're right. You can't. The idea is to. Because you have a dedicated time for silence, to connect with God. Whenever the thoughts do come up, you let them go. They're like the way they describe it is like. It's like a river. Like a river is going downstream. This is your left. Okay. A river is coming, going downstream.
And.
And let's say there's, I don't know, like a bucket flowing on the river. That's a thought. So you see the. The bucket, like, flowing, and you're like, oh, there's a bucket.
Uhhuh.
Yes. I was thinking gone. You don't engage with it. So it's like, oh, there's a thought. Like, oh, yeah, thought. And then you're like, oh, wait, that's right. I'm. I'm in silence. I'm practicing silence. So, so you let it go, and you, you know, you, thoughts keep on coming, and then you let them go. And a way to let them go is by repeating in silent prayer or centering prayer, it's called sacred word or phrase. In meditation, it's called mantra. So you repeat something that brings you peace. So I have different ones. My, My. My day to day one is Jesus. Nice and simple. So I'll be praying. And when I see that I get distracted or engaged with a thought. I'm like, jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Until it went away and I go to silence again. And then I thought about something else. And as soon as I realized that I was thinking, sometimes it takes a bunch of minutes. I was like, oh, that's right. I was thinking, okay, wait, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Until it goes away. Now, when I go to. When I practice silence, because I have up speaking engagement and I'm centering or like I have an event and I want the Holy Spirit to take over. I. I'll be, I'll say, come, holy Spirit, or I'm yours. Holy. You know, I'm. I'm yours. You know, I'm. I'm yours. Do whatever you want with me or have your way with me, is what I say. Have. Have your way with me, lord, or come, Holy spirit, depending on what I'm feeling. And when I was struggling with finances. Finances. I was like.
Right.
Like, that was my, My sacred word or phrase. So you choose the simpler. Like the important part, the important thing is that it gives you. It's like a, you know, it's a little caress to your heart, Whatever word or phrase you choose. And then there will be many times, Bea, in which your silence was, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Like, because you were so distracted. That's the story of my life. A lot. It doesn't matter. Meditation.
Well, I think. But I, I think you said something that resonates. A lot with me, which is like, I engage with those thoughts, I create emotions with those thoughts of things that have, have not happened, did not happen, or maybe exaggerated in my brain. And then that creates an emotion and then I suffer it, or I, or, or maybe I become excited about it. Like, whatever it is, I put an emotion to it. So I think I want to become more aware of, like, you know, that was just a thought that didn't happen.
Or sentence. Just a sentence.
It was just a sentence. Like, just words, you know, you don't have to put meaning to it.
Absolutely, absolutely. So that's one will change your life, and it will teach you how to be a better listener, and it will give you more peace and it'll be so healing, and it'll allow you to create that safe space that you want to create in your home and your family. So I'm excited for you. And before you know it, not only will you be good at it, even when you have one of those Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus distracted times, but you'll crave it and you need it and you want it. It's beautiful. So beautiful. So I, I, I was like you.
I've been practicing it with my daughter.
Yes, you've been practicing with your daughter.
Okay, that I've been practicing. Sorry, I didn't want to, I didn't want to interrupt. I just wanted to say that I've been practicing it with my daughter because, because whenever she says something that triggers me, I used to, like, just, like, jump on it and like, get back to her and be like, you don't do that. We don't say that. Whatever. Like, now I just try to, like, purposely, like, do not respond to anything because you don't need to fix everything that she does or say. Right?
Fair enough.
Yeah, but a bit, but that's easy there. But in my thoughts, I'm like, thinking a million things, so I, I gotta silence my mind a little bit more.
It's, you're gonna love it. I think it's gonna bless you tremendously.
Yes.
And I, I wanted to say something very important. The purpose of meditation, or silent prayer, also called centering prayer, was established by Thomas Keating is not to become really good at meditating. It's to become really good at life. So it doesn't matter. Like, I've been doing this for, I don't know, like, over 10 years, and I still have really crappy meditation times in term. In terms of distraction, the purpose is to be good at life. And you always, 100% of the time will receive the return of investment. And I'll explain what that means. When you go to the beach and it's a, you know, when you go to the beach and it's sunny, you're like, oh, I'm totally gonna get a sand, a tan. And indeed, you go home and you have tan lines. You got a tan. But there are times that you go to the beach and it's canulado, it's cloudy and it's even cold in Chile, in Miami, and you, you know, you're there and you're like, I'm not even gonna wear sunblock because there's no sun and there's, there's no need, you know, I'm not going to get any sun. And then you go home and you shower and you're like, whoa, yeso. You know, you have tan lines. Where did that come from? You positioned yourself in a place where there was, there's sun. There's always sun. We may not see it. We may think it wasn't there. You know, we may feel distracted, we may have busy and be busy in our minds, but if you went to that space where you spent time in silence, solitude and stillness with God, you are going to get burnt because the X ray, the, the UV rays are going to go right through. The Holy Spirit rays are going to go right through. So whether you, whether it was a sunny day and you're like, oh, this is a great meditation, it feels so good. Or I totally wasted my time because I was repeating this mantra the entire time. In fact, I wasted my time because I didn't even say the mantra because I didn't even realize that I was singing the whole way the whole time, totally distracted. Waste of time. You didn't waste your time. You still went to the beach and the sun was there going through the clouds. So don't be so worried about or so focused on whether the practice was good or bad. Whether you're good at it or not, that's not for you. It is always for you. The sun is always for you. God is always for you. So every little moment you give to God, he's going to bless, I promise.
That's.
Yes. My like bear.
I, I, I want to pick two that are really hard because I really.
Need to, you know, I really get to.
Yeah, I really get to. And the, like, be the silence because I'll sit in silence and then all of a sudden it's just like when I go to yoga and you're supposed to like, you know that at the end and Then it's. I start fighting, and then all of a sudden, it's like a squirrel, you know, all over the place in there. So it's like, how do I silence the mind so that I can just come to center so I can. It's so hard.
So two things. A form of silence is mindfulness. And mindfulness is more about being a loving. A loving observer. So when you're practicing mindfulness, you're not trying to silence the mind. You're just paying attention. Like, oh, I thought squirrel, but without judgment. You're. That's why it's called. That's why I say a loving observer. You're just observing because you're not your thoughts. You are the. The. The. The consciousness, the soul, the spirit that God created. That is the one observing the thought. Right? Like you. If you were your thoughts, you couldn't observe yourself. If you. If you were your body, then there would be nothing else, you know, but the. But the. But the body. Right? But we know that the body stays in the latiera and in the soul, or at least we believe, right? Like, rises. So we're not the body, we're not the. We're not our thoughts, we're not our emotions. In fact, Wayne Dyer, I think he described it best, he says that only that which never changes is true. That's hard for people to understand because he. The word true.
But.
So maybe, like, only that which never changes was created by God. Only that which never changes is eternal. And the body changes, the emotions change, our way of thinking changes, our perspectives. Like, all those things change. But the spirit doesn't. Love doesn't that, you know, the. The thing that we get to be centered in never changes. That's why we get to be guided by that. And then the rest can align with that. With that center. And psychosynthesis, which is two months in, is one of my. It's my favorite psychology theory, and it speaks about that. So there's a lot of science behind it. So one thing that you could do that you could start with is mindfulness. And it's just sit in silence and then just observe your thoughts and then be like, oh, yeah, I thought this. Oh, my gosh. I just went from this to that. Like, that's super random. Oh, okay. Like, But. But not like, oh, my gosh, how could I. Or like, oh, my God, like, how insignificant. Or, oh, is that important? Like, you're. We're not judging, we're just watching. It's a movie. Like, oh, interesting. Just watching another way to silence the mind, if you're wanting to pursue, like the more meditative, the centering prayer is, like I said, repeating a mantra. And here's the science behind it. When there's different parts in the brain and there's a part in the brain that's called basal ganglia, which is where all the habits, automations take place. So you know, the habits or the, or the mantras that are repeated without mindlessly are operating from the basal ganglia, whereas thinking, decision making, like all those external executive functions of the brain are operating from the prefrontal cortex. So when you're thinking, you're in your prefrontal frontal cortex and you can't be in two places at the same time. When you start repeating your phrase or your word, then you go from the prefrontal to the basal ganglia and that's how the thought is interrupted. But it may be that as soon as you interrupt one and you create silence, another one comes up. And that's why there are moments in which you're going to be repeating your mantra the entire time. And that's okay. And there will be moments like sometimes a little scarce more, you know, like less in quantity than we would want to. There's going to be other moments.
And.
You'Re going to be like, ooh, like where was I? And you think you fell asleep. But, but it's a different state of consciousness, a deeper state of consciousness. So those are the best days when I'm like that, I'm like, oh my gosh, like that day is the best day ever. Because you know, when you reach that state of consciousness, you, you tap into a peace and a clarity there. There's so much research about the benefits of meditation. And one of the things that I know to be true in my life is, is that it, it opens up your mind, like it declutters it, and which allows for more clarity, for more efficiency, for more peace while doing all the things that you have on your plate and for more creativity. So ideas. That's why sometimes all the great ideas come when you're showering or driving. It's because it's when you're like the most calm, right? So what they say that if you don't have 30 minutes a day to meditate, you should be meditating an hour. And when I heard that, I was like, oh my God, this person's such an idiot. Whoever said that is like, makes no sense. And now I, I feel like I'm the idiot. I'm like, oh my gosh, now I get it.
That was going to be my next question, like, how long do I sit and can it be at any time of the day? Like during the day I'm alone and it's perfect because the moment that I have the other people here, it's just chaos. I so, you know, once the guy, the testosterone arrives, you know, it's, I.
Have so many people, A lot of people say that the like call this a morning routine for a reason.
Okay.
There's, you know, the 5am Club is a book that talks about this, the morning, the morning routine from Hall Elrod. Because when you wake up in the morning, you set up for the, you know, you set up your day for success. You are the most awake and energized and ready and decluttered and assuming you had a good night. So the sun is out, the energy, the, like, there's, there's a science behind it and the, I think what matters most is that you do it. There are some people that don't function well in the morning or, you know, like when I work out at 5:30, I don't pray first thing in the morning. In fact, I never, I only pray first thing in the morning during the weekends, like as soon as I wake up, I do my prayer before I get out of the room because there's people in the house and that's it, game over. Once you get out of the room. So I do my silence before I get out. During the weekdays I work out. I, you know, attended to the kids. I did all these things before I dropped them off at school. And then it's when I do my silence. So it's still in the morning, but it's not first thing. So whatever works for you.
Okay.
If you're going to do it, it can be at whatever time. It doesn't matter. Thank you. I would love to hear how, how it goes with you, you know, as you go. And if you have questions in the chat, you're welcome to write and encourage others like, oh, I meditated today. Oh, how long? You said however long you can. I started with. There were moments that I tried it for a minute, but when I started going to the Blessed Sacrament, I started for five with five minutes, then 15. And then when I started craving it, I, I would do at least half an hour. Now if I, you know, these days, if I could do 45 minutes, it's like, it's like a treat. I love it.
I love it.
You know, sometimes it's, it's. Maybe this is a little vulnerable, but sometimes there's uncomfortable Thoughts that come up. So, you know, it's like, then you want to, like, in my case, I just want to end it.
And like, what? Like what? Like, tell me an uncomfortable thought.
You know, in my case, it's, you know, if I have to go, like, I usually tend to do these, these, like, silence and these really heavy prayer moments. I pray every day, every morning and every night. That's non negotiable. I just do it. But I do more of it. Like if I have to go in for a scan or if I have to. So then my, My, my brain just starts very, you know, positive. And then I just, it, it's like type of thing. I start thinking negative. And so I have to end it because I'm like, then creating all this negativity and I'm like, no, this is not what I'm doing is not how it's supposed to go, and this is not how I want it to go. So I end the meditative or the prayer process or whatever it is I'm.
Doing at that moment. So, okay, so I'm, I'm thinking that is, that, is that reaction is founded in a very wise psychological wisdom, right? Like, like if you, if, you know, you attract what you focus on, essentially. So I don't want to focus in on this. I don't want to think about it. But feeling is healing, and feeling comes before reframing, disregarding, deciding that you're not going to engage with that thought. So, so observing lovingly the thought of a negative outcome allows you to create awareness that there's a little bit of fear inside of you. And then you could feel the fear for a moment, just be like, okay, let me just feel into this, because feeling is healing. And then once you've allowed yourself like, oh, my gosh, it is scary. It is freaking scary. Maite, you had three cancers in one in five, five years. Of course you're going to be terrified. But if you don't feel the fear, then the feel. The fear stays stuck in your body. So you must feel it in order to release it. So when those negative thoughts come up, feel it cringe, cry, like, freak out for a moment, a moment, and then give it to God. Or you can, if you're, you know, if you're engaging with master mindful exercises, then you could just be like, you could, like, look at the thought without engaging with it. When you engage with it, an emotion is produced. Like, be. I said so you can look at the thought. I'm like, oh, I'm thinking that without interpreting it without judging it, without coming to conclusions, that it's. That you're afraid and you're attracting negativity, so you need to stop. No, you're just like, oh, there's. There's a sentence. That's a sentence. It's a sentence in your head. You don't have to believe it just because you have this. I thought you don't. You don't have to believe it. So you could be like, oh, I'm thinking that. And then you could. That could actually guide your prayer. And you could be like, huh, you know, Lord, I trust you. And I'm. I'm so scared. I give you my fear. Can you help me with this? Yes, Ines. Sorry, I'm just like, yes, yes, yes.
Just jump in.
I'm going to share with you a mantra that my mom gave me five years ago when we were going through a crisis at home. I wouldn't sleep, and I just couldn't sleep. And so the one thing that got me through was.
Jesus, I trust in you.
And I would say it a hundred times until I finally believed it. So that served me well. The few times that I did sleep through the night, if I got up to pee, like, it was almost like instinctively when I put my foot on the floor to go to the bathroom. Like, literally, I'm walking to the bathroom, I'm saying it nonstop. I'm coming back to bed. Because it's almost like I could tell you I would say it as many times as I needed to say it, and I started to believe it, and this peace would come over me. Amazing, amazing. So Jesus non stop. And then the other one that I. That I started using again in 2020 was faith over fear. Faith over fear. Faith over fear. To the point that in the middle of the pandemic, I remember, you know, just in the first few weeks seeing that some kids had done some drawings with chalk, you know, like a few blocks from my house, I was walking every day and they left a piece of chalk and I wrote faith over fear. And I put a heart. And the next day somebody added to that, and it just was such a. It was such a beautiful thing. That helped me during that season because it was a really scary season. So I just wanted to share that. You know, sometimes something as simple as faith over fear, whatever it is, just.
It's.
You'll say it and say it and say it, and those distracting thoughts, because I had those thoughts that you had, like, is it better to die? Is it better not to live? I'd rather not Live than live in this. In this world right now. And that helped me a lot.
Thank you so much. I appreciate that.
May I share something? Because you just mentioned it. I don't know if you can see it, but it's a cap that I just purchased on Amazon, and it says faith over fear. If anybody wants the link, they come in different colors. I got the beige with the white I mailed. Can you see it now?
Oh, hold on.
Yeah, beautiful. Beautiful. And those are my favorite colors, too.
I love green.
Oh, my God. So faith over fear. I said, sorry, I'm running out of.
Breath because I was ran over the other side of my house.
I guess that's my exercise for the day, right, Betsy? You know, it's less than 10 minutes.
Okay.
Just kidding. Anyway, if anybody wants a link, I'm happy to put it in the group chat. I sent two to my sister and her daughter, so let me know if you like it.
And by the way, since we're, you know, like, there's no. There's only God incidences in life, I have with me my rosary of divine mercy that I pray every day, which is where, you know, Jesus, I trust in you comes from. So we're covered on both ends.
I love that. I love divine mercy prayer. Thank you, ladies. So, Inez, you said something very important. When you practice meditation, one of the benefits it has is in. In releasing, reducing anxiety tremendously. And one of the practices that you are constantly practicing with meditation is repeating that sacred word or phrase, jesus, I trust in you. Come, Holy Spirit, whatever. And you know that you are able to interrupt thoughts, right? Like, let go of thoughts by doing that in meditation. So then when you wake up in the middle of the night to pee and you have a thought of, like, what's going to happen? Is this. You know, is this a problem? Like you. You know, like, when we're very, very vulnerable at night because our defenses are asleep with our conscious mind. So if a thought pops up, then it can rob us of our sleep. And then you get insomnia and you can't sleep, whatever. Tossing and turning. So doing that in the middle of the night or in the morning or whenever you're. You're struggling with a ruminating, intrusive thought will help you get rid of the thought in real time. So you don't just do this. And during meditation, you can also do this when you are living. When you're living life and there's a thought that is threatening your peace. So you. You figured it out on your own, and it is A very powerful practice. Okay.
Can I say something?
Yes, go ahead.
No, because I have all those thoughts too, also in my mind all the time. And I found this in Spotify. There's a. Connie Mendez was like a very famous manifestation woman. She. She passed away. But they have, in Spotify that I can share. Share with you. They have this like meditation. But there are manifestations, affirmations that you do every single day. And they're different ones, like for abundance, for health, for wealth. I mean, there are many and it could be 11 minutes, 20. And I use it and I listen to them every single day on my way to wherever I go. Because she has a very beautiful voice. But also every single thing she says makes sense of if you need like an affirmation in a day. So that helped me. So I can share it with you. So maybe you can use it too.
Sure.
And she's very, and, and she's very faith based too. So it's, it's everything.
It's on.
Based on faith, on God. But the affirmations are beautiful. So I'm going to put it there too.
Okay. So I, You. I saw you put it. I'm gonna put it in that a. Just, just so that you know, because it doesn't. You can't see it like where you're. When you're in the bot. Let me just share my screen so that you can see what I'm talking about. When you come here, there's S, A V E R S. So this is silent, you know, silence. Affirmations, visualizations, exercise, reading or learning. And, and scribing. So here I put, I changed it to here. If you want, Erica, you can put the link here so that they can also do it. So you put this here. But you are, you're already doing that. What are two that you're gonna commit to? And you already work out. But let me see. So exercise. I go to the gym.
What is it?
Is it daily?
For me?
For me it's yes. But for me it's very difficult to meditate. My mind, you know, I also have like the little mouse inside my head. So for me it was. I mean, I like to pray in the night, so when I go to sleep, I pray. And my mom always told me since I was little, even if you don't finish your prayers, start and then if you fall asleep, it's okay, but start. Like when you fall asleep, when you go to sleep, pray. And in the morning too, but meditation by itself. And I was a yoga instructor for years and it was super complicated for me if it wasn't guided the meditation. I mean, I wasn't able to do it because my mind started like to, I was like thinking of problems of whatever I have to do or the past or I, I, till that, till now. I can't like focus on meditation.
And neither can your camera. Your camera is all over the place. It can't focus. No, no, no, you're good, you're good. No, I thought. No, no, no, you're good. Okay. Every. You move and the camera moves.
Yeah, but.
Exactly. But why is that out of frame? Okay, let me, let me.
Okay. So Erica, I am going to volunteer you to prioritize that habit. Maybe it's the one habit you already are.
Really.
You're pretty solid. Like in the, you do the affirmations, you do the body movement and you know, in, in some way visualization, because that has to do with manifestation. So I would say silence is the one that's preventing you from moving forward the way or manifesting the things that you're already doing the work for. Silence is our connect, is like, is the container of our connection with God. God has a light, gentle, subtle, soft voice. If you don't practice silence, you can't hear it. So you may be manifesting, affirming, praying, talking, doing, scribing, like other things. And you're like, God, give it to me, baby. Give it to me, baby. Trying to, mija, pero you're too busy. You're too busy and loud. So let's, let's do that. Because I think that is the thing that's missing for you. You have a lot of tools and you implement them, but that's missing. So I invite you to consider that as the main habit that you focus on. And every day like send us in a chat like, I meditated for five minutes. It was a disaster, but I did it. Yeah. And we'll celebrate you so that we.
Can support myself or guided by myself.
In your case. In your case, other people may do guided, but for you just that.
So for Erica's. Because I, I have the squirrel moments too, as a lot of you do. And would it be because as I started learning how to do that or else because I'm a person that I have to have music in the background to be able to focus on a project. I get it done a lot quicker. I did. It's just one of those loose term ADHD things. Right? You're always. So would it be in her journey to do this, to start physically doing the box breathing as well? As having a little bit of meditative music, just kind of forcing her to calm the mind before she engages in the meditation. Because that helps me tremendously. Erica. It forced me to. Okay, we have to focus on something, right? So we're focusing on our problems. We're multitasking. We're problem solvers. But it forced me to concentrate on the breathing as well as. Okay, the music took that background distraction. And when I say music, I'm talking very calming music. I'm a rocker. I can put AC DC on. I'm sorry to share tmi.
Right on.
But I can do that. Yeah, I can do that. But obviously I'm not telling you to do that. Right. I'm a person that I can listen to a ton of music, and I don't even know what the lyrics mean because I just have to have that background noise. So just a thought that maybe it forces you to. Without you having to struggle. Okay, get. Get back to the un Squirrel moment. Get back to it. Just a thought. It helped me. Maybe just sharing an experience.
For sure.
Thank you.
Yes. And listen, there's not one. There's many ways to skip that, and some ways work better than others for different people. So I, I, I also struggle with going from, like, to silence. Right. So typically, what I do in the morning, because I've already had with the kids and taking them to school and whatever, when I get to the Blessed Sacrament, I first listen to scripture and, you know, like, so. So like, there's words and engagement and. And then. And then I. I do breathing sometimes also, and then I go into silence because I do need all. I don't need it, but, like, it serves me as a transition into a more. A deeper silence. So you can. You can do something guided. And maybe when you get. Go to the gym, like, just get there, like, a couple minutes earlier. And when you get to the gym, after doing those medit, those affirmations, which is. That's meditative. You know, it's repetitive. It's calming. When you get to the gym and you park, just stay in the car for two more minutes or one more minute in silence. Close your eyes, stay there in silence. And that's it. Yeah. And that's your. That's your silence. I'm not asking for 15 minutes, half an hour, 45 minutes. You may want to grow into that. But start with adding a minute of just silence, just silence. And then, see, it's gonna get to a point where you're gonna crave it, I promise you. So start with a minute.
In the shape.
And yes, you can have background music. It's delicious. I love meditations with background music. I don't know about AC dc, but definitely as like a slow instrumental spice. Yes.
I wanted to, like. I think I'm gonna unite some because, yes, they're complimentary. So I'm thinking I'm being forced right now into silence.
So you're being invited into silence.
I'm like. And it's a very difficult thing. It's a very humbling opportunity, like you said. I think earlier, it gives me an opportunity to listen, which is hard to do because I'm very reactive, and I want to fix as quickly as possible and move on to the next. So this gives me an opportunity to be a little bit more mindful and more strategic, which I think I need to do just for myself and for others, like my family, to be that example. And I'm going to couple that with exercising. I mean, I've been exercising on and off now for five years. I've. I've haven't been doing it in the last maybe nine months because of health reasons. And now exercising looks different to me. But I do use exercise as an. As an opportunity to meditate during the, the. That point. So I think that moment of silence, and I always do it in the morning because it sets me up. So I think, you know, I will incorporate that into my, you know, my new kind of process. And then the other one that I would never thought I would do, but I think I, I'm in need of. Is affirmation and visualization and coupling that. Because it's something that in order to get to. And we haven't talked about my intention, but I think I'm thinking in that realm in order to. I, I, I think of this, I thought of this, like, honor the past, enjoy the moment, embrace the future. I kind of like, I need to. And I'm. And I. And I like doing this. I like to see where I've come from, how I've gotten here. And this silence has provided me the opportunity to do so because, you know, I woke up one day and I had to have brain surgery. I was told that, you know, I have a tumor. Like, who. No one expects that. No one ever expects those words coming out of your mouth. So it's like dopasa porno razone, you know, like, God has me on this journey, and God has me on a plan. And I'm very accepting of it, even if I may question it. But I think I need to have that moment of visualization. Of the past, of the present, and of the future, and then affirm what it is that I want for myself.
Amen to them. Amen. How feasible is that? Does that feel like a lot of hard work? Or does. Or do you know how to fit it into your schedule?
Or is it that right now I can. Right. Like, right now, in the next eight weeks, I can.
That's good. That's. That's eight weeks.
I'm home, you know, recuperating. So I think it. And again, I told you these. All these things happen for a reason. Like, what was the likelihood that all of this were to be happening at the time that. That's. That this is. This session is taking place? It's almost like God. I mean, you know, obviously God has a plan way ahead of, and his plan is better than mine ever.
Wow.
Like a brain surgery. I mean, it is what it is. I don't know. I don't know how to explain it. I don't know. I just know that I. I want to be. I want to follow it. I want to follow the path. I don't. I think normally it would have been, like, unattainable.
Enjoy and embrace.
Yeah.
I have the opportunity to. My daughter, you know, like, my daughter tells me all the time when I say. I'll start a sentence saying I have to. She's like, no, mom, you get to. And it's like, okay, but you're 20 and I'm 54. But okay, sure, I'll learn from you.
I love that.
Come in right now. So you know what? Take it a day at a time. I just. I can't think about eight weeks plus one day. I have to think about right now because who would have told me four weeks ago that I'd be in this position? No one.
It's crazy.
You know, I could have never planned for this ever. So I. As much as you want to plan and you think you know, you have it all, it just throws it all. It just throws your. This is what God continues to teach me. Plan as much as you. You want, but his plan is. His plan is the one good, bad, or different.
That's why living in the present is so important. And visualizing is a powerful. So that we may become the thing that we desire to be physically and build the belief and the trust without attaching ourselves to the outcome. And it's what we were talking about in yesterday's class on intention. You can visualize and get excited about the future and embrace it, like, you know, and plan it. Just see it but the idea of seeing it is so that you can become the kind of person who has that kind of future that you desire, not so that we manifest exactly that. What we want to manifest is the, the experience that we think that is going to bring us. So if it is, you know, in your case, like to, let's say, like, I want to be healthy so that I can fulfill my purpose and do this work and, and be happy and feel energized and, you know, travel, whatever, like, like maybe that's why, like why you want to be healthy. Then whatever, like, whatever healthy looks like doesn't matter as much as arriving at the experience of feeling joyful and peaceful and energized and, and purposeful and yada, yada. Right. So I think it's important you wanted to do this work. You've been wanting to step into this kind of work, and the idea was to do it balancing work and this. And now you have two months of focusing on justice, and who knows what happens in those two months. So God always, always, always, always, always has better plans than ours.
I questioned it. I mean, my job is very demanding and, and just my life is very demanding, and I just allowed it because he put it in there and he. He will provide. I don't know. Absolutely doesn't look the way that I thought it was going to look like.
But.
But, but then you're like, oh, that was brilliant.
Yeah, he, he makes it. You know, it doesn't. Again, it's not, it's not always the way that you envision it. It's not necessarily your perspective, but it's the journey that he has you on. So you just accept and move on.
Absolutely. Absolutely. Okay. Joyi, I haven't heard from you today. What are you doing? Or what are you already doing and what are you committing to?
Okay, so thinking about my mornings, I, I always read the. I typically do like the Matthew Kelly, the thing of the day. So he reads the gospel and then he does like a quick meditation. So that's good for me because it's brief and concise, but I'm thinking of committing to a few minutes of silence before then. Jav tries to do it and I'm like, what are you doing? Sometimes he even puts a timer. And I'm trying to talk to him and he's like, my timer, my timer. So thinking of trying to add that before so that. And then in conjunction, I'm thinking of like, what is the most stressful time of my day is typically the morning rush. You guys will all get to know about my son Daniel, because he is. Well, Jav says he's my favorite, but he is my child that is just turned 18. So I guess he's technically an adult. But he causes me more stress than anybody. He is dragging him and getting him out of bed is one of the. The crosses I've had to bear. So I was actually looking now. He's been late 17 times to school this year. He drives himself. And so I wake up in the morning and as I'm showering, I'm trying to get him to bed. I'm like, to get him out of bed. I'll walk in and wake him up. And then I'm showering. And then just the anxiety is like, overrides me. Like, okay, he's going to be late. He's going to be late. So then my way to do it. So I was kind of thinking what you were saying. I'll start repeating Our Father. Because I used to start like praying and then like, I was just so anxious, I didn't know what to say. So like, what would come with to me is like, to Our Father. So like, I think I pray like 100 our fathers every single morning. Because it's just like what comes to me. Our Father. So until that, that used to be till he gets in the shower. Then after he gets out of the shower, it's like, okay, when is he leaving? Is he going to leave on time? Is he going to leave on time? So this was like. So I'm thinking of maybe adding some kind of positive visualization that may help. Kind of like maybe.
So do you mean visualization or affirmation?
No, I was thinking like visualizing. I don't know, maybe him getting to school on time, maybe like a peaceful morning. Maybe. I. I don't know. That's what you think. But something more like. You understand what I'm saying? Or affirmations too. I guess he's going to get to school on time. We're going to have.
But remember that one of the things that we're working on with you is what was your word? Surrender.
Presence.
Presence. So, but. But it's also. It's also releasing control over fixing and solving the problems and the conflicts. And because peace is the absence of conflict, that's something that we want to shift and change. Like that belief. We want to shift that into. There can be conflict and peace. It's all good, right? We can. They can coexist. So those affirmations or visualizations that you want to commit to don't have to do with you. It has to do with you wanting to control your son and his decisions. So that doesn't serve you because what we're working on is on releasing control that you don't have. That is the beauty of surrender. Surrender means we release the control we never have and give the power back to he who had it all along. Right. So visualizing that is based on the premise that you'll have peace and you'll feel good when he goes to school on time and does the rest. Right thing. And there's no conflict.
Right.
What we want is more along the lines of acceptance. Who was it that was talking about acceptance? Who said acceptance over. You said acceptance. But yesterday someone said that it wasn't surrender, that it was.
Wasn't that.
Erica.
Allow. Allow.
No, no. What was that like?
Allowing.
Allowing. Okay, you're right. You're right. It was allowing. Allowing. Yeah, that's actually that. So that's. Yes, it's allowing. So you're you.
Yes.
What if. So I like the idea of using affirmations to build his belief, but not to calm you down. So what I would do is talk to him all the time. You're such an amazing kid. I'm so proud of you. Like how you work so hard to get to school on time. I know mornings are hard. They're not your thing, and you still make it happen. And you know, like, school, like, getting to school so early when it's so far from home is a challenge. Every day that you've taken on and you, you know, like, it's hard and you do it anyway. And sometimes you're late and that sucks because, you know, we live in this society that you have to follow the rules and play by the book. But honestly, like, I'm really proud of you because the system was not created for you. Like, you're bigger than the system. Look, okay, let me tell you guys about this guy. This guy got into UFO because it doesn't matter what grades he has because, you know, like, he's clearly not the most applied necessarily, but the guy got, like, an almost perfect score in the SAT. My daughter is super duper smart and got like 4000 points less than him. Like, this guy is a genius.
He's a genius. He can do a Rubik's Cube in one minute. You tell him things, and he.
And here's what happens. Yoi. Let me tell you what the problem with your son is. Your son does not fit the mold because your son is bigger than the mold. And this stupid society and the System of like the school system, society system, the church system, even, like, all these systems want to fit everybody in a mold. And there's people like Daniel, and there's no, there's no, no coincidence in him being born on Christmas Day, being called Daniel. Like, like people like Daniel do not fit the mold because they're bigger, greater, better than the mold. And we as parents, as teachers, as coaches, as mentors, as religious, whatever guides want to squeeze him into a mold that is smaller than him. And he's going to show us that soon when he has the opportunity to create his own freaking mold and not have to follow all these stupid rules that don't match with him, align with him because he's bigger. Don't you? Like, Jesus cleaned his butt with all of the rules. The, the Sabbath rule. Like, you know, buy the book. You gotta respect the Sabbath because he was bigger than the mold. The Sabbath was like, the Sabbath was created for men, not meant for the Sabbath. School rules and systems and schedules were created for Daniel, not Danielle, for that. And, you know, in order to, in order to get by, he has to somewhat fit it or like, try to pretend. And he's doing it, he's doing it against what comes naturally to him. So I would use affirmations to be like, you are, you are. Pour into him. You're so responsible. You're, you're, you're so. You're greater than you're. But because we've been living in the gap with him, he doesn't get to school on time. Konya, when he gets to school, when the kid, if it was up to him, he, he wouldn't, My brother would leave the house at seven in the morning when he was in college so that my mom would see him leave to school and then he would go play pool. He's the best, like, the best pool player in the world. Like, he would take a little notebook. She was like, oh, he doesn't even take a book back. Take a little notebook and a pencil. So that she would see him go.
Out of the house.
And the guy woke up and he didn't make it to school. Like, buddy, like you did the hardest part, waking up. He didn't make it to school. He would go play pool. Your son is making it to school late. He's making it. So I would use affirmations to reprogram his mind that he is responsible that he gets to school on time, even when it's hard. And eventually he will do that. So you help him manifest that. I don't want you to use your affirmations or visualizations to imagine him doing, like, removing the conflict that you have. Because the idea is that you learn how to be peaceful regardless of. Right. Maybe what you can do is tell yourself, like, wow, like, he. This is hard for him. This is hard. Hard if, like, you know, people with adhd. Someone said it, Madeline said it. I have clients with adhd. It's hard for them to concentrate without.
No, no.
I'm the same, actually. Javi gets mad at. When I was in dental school, I would put the TV on. The TV was on in the background, and I was studying. If the TV was off or something, I couldn't study. I couldn't focus. Like, I needed, like, a distraction in the background. That's how I survived four years of dental school. I had a background and. And then I was, like, on fire, you know?
Yeah. Yeah. So it's.
Yeah.
I have something to add that, you know, I, I have this terrible habit.
Which is I'm always late for things.
And one day, you know, my husband is the opposite. He's like military. I remember him telling me one day, like, oh, I'm going to get there on time to pick you up. If you're not ready, I'm going to leave without you. And I was like, okay, no. So then I changed that just for him. The rest of the world.
No, no.
But then one day I was just, like, meditating about it, and then I just realized that I just don't like to wait. So maybe, you know, the part of the reasons why he's. He's sometimes late to school is that he doesn't like to wait. You know, I don't know if he drives or his. He's.
He drives himself.
But he drives himself. Yeah, Right. So he drives himself. But sometimes, like, if you get there early, like, you way to start school.
Yes, Yes.
I don't like, I don't like that. Not even a minute. So then I've. I've been doing that job. But like, now when I'm like, 37, before then, I was always late because I never wanted to be sitting down in a classroom by myself or in. Remember, I don't like to be in silence with myself. So when you have ADHD or like this, thoughts or like, your brain is always like that. It's very hard to be on time because of that. And then I, I. The only question I had was, like, if you had any control of, like, him getting to school or not, but if he drives himself, you have very little control over that.
Yes.
No. And that's even more stressful because he has to drive his brother, and if his brother's late to school, he can't practice baseball. So it's like, it's, you know, like, oh, you know, you're responsible for your brother too, Daniel. You're, you know, it's not only for you, you know, but it's definitely gotten better. But still, I'm like, come on, you know, wake up five minutes earlier. What is five minutes? You know, if there's an accident, you're late. Like, come on.
But no, it doesn't work for us.
Gotten better. Yeah.
It's not very easy for us to do that.
No, no, listen, his college application was due. Let's say it was. Was it due at midnight? And I couldn't fall asleep cuz I was, you know, making sure he did it. I got up like 30 times at 11:30. He's like, I'm working on at 11. I woke up at 12. He's like, I just turned it in 11:59. I'm like, Daniel, oh my goodness. Like the last day. He had months to do this. The last minute.
Does he have a close friend that might be able to help, say, hey, I'll call you in the morning?
And no, the friend is worse. The friend is just the same Stupendo Junto. So it's like actually he has one good friend, but that is, actually has saved him, you know? But like Betsy said, he's gonna have his moments. I, I'm sure of it. Because he is, he really is brilliant. I, I, you know, better way. That's in God's time, right?
Is there a counselor at school that you've been able to maybe get some help from?
Oh, yeah, but.
Oh, you're way past that.
Way past that.
Yeah.
Okay.
And not even that helped.
No.
Got it.
No, no.
Have you asked him what he can suggest that will help you to help him?
He wants me not to nag him.
Got it. So if I wasn't to come in here and wake you up, you'll just go to school? Is that what you're saying?
Exactly. But then he doesn't. So it was part of our experiment. One time my husband says, don't wake him up. And I'm like, okay, I won't wake him up. And then. So that was like three years ago. So this has been ongoing. He's in 12th grade. I'm counting the moments for him to graduate and leave. He's gonna have to figure it out on his own.
Got it. So, Daniel, are you okay with lying to your mom? He said yes.
No, no, no, I haven't had that come.
Yeah, maybe you should.
Yeah.
Because you're very important in his life. You help provide for him. Yeah, and obviously you're not going to say hey, the way you're treating me is like crap, but he is. Are you okay with the fact that you lie to me every day?
It's not. But it's not about.
It's.
He's not doing this to her.
I know, I know. I guess.
And I don't want us to fall into that. Like, I don't, like, you know, Sorry. Like. No, no, no, that's very valid. But something I see, like I see in myself and parents in general is we make it about us. How could you do this to me? They didn't do it to us. They're doing it to themselves. But because we, you know, we feel it, but we want them to do so, then they're doing this themselves and we want them to fix it for themselves too. Even if they use a little inspiration of not hurting someone. But he's, he's. You know, sometimes at that age, you're very self centered and egocentric and it's hard to see it or to be aware of it. But he'll come back. He'll come back. You know what you can visualize. Joey. Oh, sorry, I interrupted someone.
I was just gonna say it's senior year and I know that, that he made it.
No, I. I'm telling you, I am. I haven't done it yet, but I want to count down the days till graduation because that's how I survived last year. Counting down the days to so of driving them to Belen. You know, it's senior year and he's.
He will get it. His time will come. He'll figure it out. But the process of getting there is hard.
Yeah, like I.
With Ryan at the beginning, like freshman year. Oh my God. He doesn't, he doesn't drive because he refuses to drive. He's like, mommy, Miami's crazy. I don't want to drive. He's like, if you want to Uber me, I'll Uber. But I don't want to drive. So I took him to school and I, and I. And now it's like, if you're not up and you're not ready at this time, you don't go to school. He's never done it to me again, but it was a long time. It took forever for him to, like, get it. And I don't know if it's boy thing or if it's just.
I don't know. So I would say, oh, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
No, no, no, that's it.
So I would say use the affirmations to reprogram his mind for his sake, right? Like, like to instill in him like, you're responsible. Thank you so much for getting there early today. I know this is really hard. Very validating. Like, like, you know, like, like we're asking you to do something that's against your nature. You know, you're not a morning person. You know, you struggle with being. Being like alert in the morning. Don't say morning person because we don't want to identify him with that. But like, you struggle and you do it anyway. And I, you know, sometimes we give you a hard time. But I have to say, I'm very proud of you. You're, you know, it's senior year, look at all you've gone through, and you still made it. You've got into these schools like, like, you know, I don't give you enough credit. So, like, speaking to him, speaking to him. Everything that you wish was 100% true 100% of the time. Aprobecha. Whenever there's like a moment that he did it right or. Or didn't do it wrong and blow it out of proportion and, and just, just tell him that's who he is. That's who you are. That's who you are. That's who you are. Because think about it. You've been telling them you suck. You suck. You suck. You're not responsible. You have to worry about. You're. You're not reliable. You're. And he's like, the subconscious mind is like, yep, okay, no taken. And then he just acts on it. So, you know, we are continuing to enable and self perpetuate that thing that we're wanting to change. It's. It makes no sense. But we, it's what we do. It's what we do be. When we don't. When we're, when we're not outsmarting the mind, when we're not aware of how the mind works. So just speak and speak him into existence, you know, in terms of. Of the behaviors that you would like to see. And then in terms of visualization. Visualize yourself at peace regardless of like, waking up and being like, tranquila, because, you know, it's not the end of the world. He has 17 absences. It's already true. 18. One more.
He just gets another detention.
So that's another detention, which he can wait for himself and then drive himself back. So it's not going to change your schedule?
No. They make them at seven in the morning. Morning.
Actually you know what they did?
You know what they did last time? And he goes I didn't want, I didn't want to do it. They told him because he was the only one that had a seven o'.
Clock.
He says, the teacher says I don't want to get here at 7. You're going to have to do pickup duty after lunch for a whole week. And he was like. And I was like yes, good. He's like mom, I don't want to do that. But you know, what was I going to say? I couldn't say no. I said yeah. So I'm like maybe, maybe they're trying to fix shift what they do with him because the other one isn't working.
Yeah, yeah.
At the end of the day I'll tell you, these are all, these are.
Going to be great stories one day by the way.
Oh my God, I'm writing a book.
Sorry, go ahead Kyla.
No, no, that I was going to say that these are all consequences and I always tell my kids I rather you learn these lessons when you're here close to me that I'm here to pick up the pieces here and there but like not do it for them. It's been a lesson for me as a parent to kind of like yeah, it's their journey, it's their mistakes. Like I remember telling my parents, let me make my own mistakes, you know and they have to. And they have to learn and pick up pieces and sometimes we have to say no even though we have. We want to say yes and we want to enable an easier life for them. It's a lesson for all of us. God bless kids because they are, they, they have to deal with a lot. Believe it or not.
They do.
They really do. They re. It's different than what we had to deal with but they have to deal with a lot. They really do.
Yeah. And then the other visualization that I would love for you to consider, Yogi is visualize him 10, 15 years from now. You're going to be around the table telling stories. Maybe you have grandkids and you'll be like when your dad was your age or whatever. Like it's going to be such a great story one day.
Yeah.
And just so, so visualize that and, and, and like, like visualize him coming to you and like, like he's like a big guy and like just hugging you and giving you resitos and like, mom and like, just, I don't know, like, visualizing being a successful freaking badass that he's inevitably going to be inevitably. And then work it backwards. How do you support him here to get him there? And it cannot be by continuing to tell him that he sucks. I know you don't say he sucks, but, like, the reason they're like, so it's conveying that he is what he's been. Treat him as if he were. Treat him as if he would have already changed. Like what? Like, shower him with praise, encourage him, reward him, reinforce his behaviors. Like, like, treat him as if he would have already manned up and become the man that he was created to be and was in, like, in this phase. And he will become it. He does not have to be who he's always been unless the people around him, society, and in this case, home, mom and dad continue to put him in that box. If you, if you, if you decide I'm no longer going to judge him that way and I'm going to speak a different version of his into existence, then you treat him as if he would have already changed and he'll have no option but to align him, his behaviors and himself with that which you already believe.
Yeah.
Okay, so I want to, I want to. This is, this is homework. Or you could do it right now, but where is it here? So here, for example, try to be very specific. So what does daily prayer mean? Right? Like, is it. And then is what is gratitude? Is it gratitude journal, then that goes inscribing. If it's gratitude prayer, then the, Then that's fine. Like, you know, pray, like, say three things for which I feel grateful. Be super specific and what kind of prayer and where are you going to pray? And you know, is it going to be hallow app. Is it going to be silent prayer? Is it going to be meditation? Is it going to be. So be very specific in, in the, in the silence, in the affirmations. If you already have I am, you know, I am at peace, for example, then you can, you can write them and it's the affirmations that you're planning on repeating. Or you could say meditations for peace or meditation. I mean, sorry, affirmations for peace or affirmations for self confidence, for self worth, for whatever, right? And then create those affirmations, write them down, have them on your phone notes or whatever. And I am peace, I am loved, I am confident, I have clarity, I make decisions, decisions with ease. I am respected and whatever, right? So you can write them all here. Then you go to visualization. Let's say Yoyi use say, Is this visualization?
Yeah.
So let's say you say, let's say like, you know, visualizations of. Visualize. My family in 15, 10 years. 15 years, whatever. Years. In 10 years. And then be specific. Like, you're, you're home and all your kids are away and you know, you have weekly dinners with the family and it's one of those weekly dinners, like Thursday night dinners. And you know, there's babies in the family or I don't know, maybe do 15 years if it serves you better and the wiser. Like, like the. Daniel's wife is lovely and she comes and she cooks with you while, you know, he's attending to her, to the baby. And then when you're serving, like, he comes to her and hugs her from the back. And then he comes to you and he's like, I love you, mom. And like, and then you realize, like, oh my gosh, all those years I worried about him were a waste of energy because look at the man he's become and just like, like, like indulge in that, like, ah, feel like his hug and feel his maturity and see him as a dad, being so responsible and, and loving and a good husband. And just like in that family dinner, like, just, just see him. And then from that energy and with that love and gratitude in your heart, like, thank you, Jesus, because this is how it ended. Because by the way, we are spoiled. We all know the ending to this story. Like, Lent doesn't end on, on Good Friday. Like, this is your Good Friday. You're. You're in. In root. We haven't arrived. Lent ends in resurrection and rising in success and triumph and light over darkness. Like, you know, you know that you're ending with Daniel is Easter. And Don say, live as though you know that, not as though Good Friday is it. Live as though you know that. And from that energy, from that faith and conviction, address him, but unconsciously by telling him the things that he's doing wrong, you are collaborating with manifesting more of the same thing. You are continuing. You're enabling and self, self perpetuating and perpetuating that. So we get to be a little smarter, wiser, and operate differently. So be super specific in the sheets so that your coach, when the coaches are assigned, can come to this document and remember, like, one of the things that they get to support you with and hold you accountable.
This document, like, if we do something, it auto saves.
Yeah, okay. It's a Google document, Doc.
Google Doc.
Okay, yeah. Google Docs, Google sheets.
None of that.
None of that. I'm like, like yes, yes. Y. It ought to save. I learned a little bit during the.
Application process when Daniel wanted me to read his essays with a counselor. I'm like, oh, how cool. I would see her looking at things and I'm like, I'm looking at it too.
It's so cool, right? It's so cool. It's amazing. It is amazing what our grandparents would, would say if they understood how we do things nowadays. It's really cool. Okay, it's 2 o'.
Clock.
I want to honor your time. I know you have to go back to work. Some of you have things to do. Kyla, thank you for staying. The whole time I was like so worried about you being like, I don't want to listen to anybody anymore, please. So thank you. Thank you for making an effort. Thank you for being here. Diana, I know you had a call, but we want to see you, want to hear you. So please work on your, on your daily practice. And Cookie, if you have any questions or something, ask us in the chat, tell us how we can support, share it. And when you practice silence, take a little picture of you and send it to us or tell us how it went. A minute will do until we work ourselves up. Sounds good. Let's go. Love you. See you next Tuesday.
Bye.
Oh wait. No, no, no, no, no, no. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh my gosh. Oh, I almost forgot this.
It's Wednesday.
I'm going to put it in the tattoo. So next week I had a last minute change. It's on your schedule, like on the calendar. And, and I moved the Tuesday class to Wednesday and we had a Wednesday class. That's a good thing, I promise. Cuz next week's master class is super long. One of them is two hours instead of one. So it's going to be good for you. And then the Wednesday Mastermind, I moved it to the end of the month because I have a retreat next Monday, Tuesday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. So I will see you Wednesday instead of Tuesday. And then the last Wednesday of the month we'll meet again to make up for the one that we're missing next week. Sure.
February 4th.
February, Wednesday the 4th. Yeah, it's, it's. If you connected, if you accepted the invites or if you connected our calendar to yours, it'll change automatically. But I also wanted to let you know because it is supposed to be Tuesdays. Okay, thank you. Have a great see you. Have a beautiful day.
Bye.
Thank you.
