Secrets From the Mom of an Angel

Betsy Guerra (creator/uploader) explains how she uses visualization to cope with grief after losing her daughter. She describes the technique—imagining a detailed future reunion in heaven with sensory and social details—to move herself from pain into joy, offers an analogy (parents and empty-nest/college), and closes with a call-to-action pointing viewers to her website (betterwithbetsy.com).

I have a secret that I want to share with you and hopefully it'll help you overcome your pain. Although I have found joy again in my life after losing my daughter, there are times in which it's so hard to stay positive. And lately I've discovered this secret that helps me every time I use it and I want to share it with you. I practice, practice visualization, which is an important tool to have in your life. If you want to accomplish something, overcome pain, do something. Whatever it is that you're aspiring to, the exercise of visualization can make it happen. It can change everything. The way you feel and the way you approach that goal of yours. And that's what this is about. I have been practicing visualization and let me tell you what it consists of. That means that you think about the goal, the outcome that you so desire in detail. You think about how you feel, about what it looks like, who you're sharing it with, who you're with, what you're wearing, all the details. So let me tell you about mine. Whenever I'm sad these days, I think about being in heaven. I already died and I'm in heaven and I'm with my daughter and we're chit chatting and we're talking to each other and I'm like, do you remember those five minutes that I was on earth without you and I was freaking out and in so much pain. Oh my gosh, five minutes. Who would think that here we are forever and ever and ever and ever, enjoying each other, holding each other and just having a good time. I think about that and I can't help but smile and feel profound joy inside of me. Because it's true tomorrow I'm not going to be worried about being in pain today. So I already go to tomorrow whenever today is too difficult to deal with. So when I think of her and I imagine that we're going to be together forever? It's like that mom or those empty nesters that are freaking out about their kids going to college and they're like, oh my gosh, you're leaving for four years and. And then fast forward a few years, they're here, married with kids, and the parents are enjoying their grandkids and they're like, you remember those four years that I was worried about you leaving to college and here I am with my grandkids and you and we're never going to be separated again. That's how I feel. So visualize what you want to achieve or where you want to be and just transport yourself there for a little bit whenever pain is taking over. If this was helpful, please don't forget to like and subscribe and share with somebody that may benefit from visualization.
