A short spoken vignette by Betsy Guerra (YouTube) using an anecdote about two men at a Spanish construction site—one who says he is merely chopping rocks and another who says he is building a beautiful cathedral—to illustrate how setting an intention transforms how we perceive and feel about our actions. The narrator asks the listener to reflect on which worker they resemble.

Let me tell you about the magical thing that happens when you set an intention. There was this man who was a tourist in Spain and he was walking by a construction site and saw one of the workers and asked him like, hey, good man, what are you up to? And this man who was chopping rocks said like, oh, I'm here chopping rocks. He said, okay. And the guy didn't look very happy, so he just kept on walking. And then he saw another man who was like, singing and happy, and he was doing the same thing. And he's like, good man, what are you up to? He's like, I am building the most beautiful cathedral in the world. The first guy and the second were doing the same thing, but the second one had set an intention. He has set the intention of building something beautiful and majestic. When you set intention, you change the way you look at things. You give it purpose and you feel differently about it. So who of the two men are you?
