Thank you for all your questions on Instagram about topics that are going to help us help you become a better version of you. Today's question was regarding self love. How can I love myself more? And I'm going to discuss just three things that you can keep in mind in the journey of becoming a better version of you. I want you to sit down and make a whole list of things that make you unique and special. What gifts and talents do you have? Are you creating, very patient? Good with kids? Are you good with words? Are you artistic? What is it about you that makes you special? And if you have a hard time doing that exercise, have your family and friends help you. Tell them to write down qualities or adjectives that describe you and put them all together. Bring them to that list and once you explore those gifts, embrace them and see them, acknowledge them. Because we spend our lives at apologizing and not realizing, oh, I wish I was better at this. And we're always seeking perfection, but at the end of the day, what makes us special is not perfection. It's those unique qualities and gifts that excel in us. Now what good are those talents if you're not using them for the service of others? So the second one is service. When you engage in service and giving, your focus goes on to another person and you don't have the opportunity to be so judgmental about yourself and self critical. You're looking at how you can make a difference in somebody else as opposed to how you suck and you can be better. So using your gifts for the service of others is really important and will bring purpose to your life, will make you more generous and will change the focus from self criticism to generosity and looking at other people to help them and serve them. The third component on your journey towards self love is regarding action. What action are you going to take to love yourself more? And I cannot think of a better way than to doing affirmations. Affirmations are statements that you tell yourself about what you want to believe. So if you feel that you're not a beautiful person, then you tell yourself, well, looking at yourself in the mirror, I love myself. I am gorgeous. I am beautiful. The idea behind this is that your subconscious mind believes whatever you tell it. It doesn't question, it doesn't know if it's true, if it's not a reality, which is why you believe so many lies about who you are and you don't love yourself as a result. Affirmations are what you're going to tell yourself, what you're going to affirm and what you're going to demand your subconscious mind to believe. And those new affirmations are going to substitute the old ones. And that's the way you think about yourself is a habit. So it can be changed. And the only way of changing habits is by substituting by different ones. You tell yourself what you want to believe about yourself. You tell yourself what you want to become. It may feel like a lie. Lie to yourself. You may feel like an idiot while doing this. The more of an idiot you feel, the better a job you're doing. So tell yourself what you want to believe and you will end up believing it. You will. Affirmations are really powerful. So three things. Number one, do an exercise in which you explore your talents and your gifts and what makes you unique. Number two, use those talents and gifts for the service of others. What are you doing to implement and to bring those talents to the service of others? How are you making this world a better place with your quality? And the third one is action. Tell yourself what you want to believe. Repeat those affirmations over and over and over again and it's just a matter of time before you're like obsessed with yourself.
