A shooter tests a firearm that hasn't been fired in 15-20 years, finding it shoots left, then successfully zeros in a Ruger PC Carbine on a 2-inch target at 23 yards. The gun shoots dead-center after sighting in.
Okay, so here's the four-wheeler, kind of my home base. Uh, turn around, show you my shooting range, kind of walk it off a little bit. Got a 12 and a 4-inch at 10 yards, then we got that one at 15, we got that one at 20, this one's also at 15. Just at a different angle. This one over here is also at 20 at a different angle. You got this one right here at 23. It's got the swingers on it. Then we've got the javelina pig right here at 30. And back there, I don't know if you can see it, we've got a, uh, a target at 55 yards. So that's kind of the shooting range. All right, this is 10 yards. Okay, 15 yards. All right, moving to 20 yards.
All right, so started off a little bad, pulled it in right there.
That's 20 yards, 15 yards, and then 10 yards. All right, so we're all geared up, it's ready to go. Uh, being this is the first time I've shot this gun, I'm going to keep it to, uh, 10 yards on the swinging target. Uh, it's already painted, so there's no spots, so we should be able to see where it hits even though this target does not make any sound. All right, well, not as good as I would have hoped. Uh, looks like 6 out of 8, and for the most part it was shooting a little bit left. Like I said, this gun hasn't probably been shot in 15, 20 years, so it probably needs a little bit of adjustment. So anything past 10 yards, I'm probably not going to be very accurate, but I'll give it one more go. All right, we're going to try again. This time we're going to use the, uh, 4-inch disc, still at 10 yards. All right, let's see here. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. So I think I did miss the very first one. Uh, it does shoot a little bit left. I was aiming— I had to start moving my aim a little bit this way, but I think with some, uh, with a little target practice and some sighting on the sights, I can, uh, I can zero this in. All right, I've been sighting in the, uh, Ruger PC Carbine. And, uh, I pretty much got it dead center on everything. I'm hitting the, uh, 2-inch target at— what is that? That's 20, so that's probably 23 yards, 2 inches. So I'll take that. Woo! This thing is dead on, man.
