Happy Saturday, April 12th. Beautiful Saturday morning, already outside. It's about 8 AM. Got a couple things to do today. One, I gotta make sure the chickens have water. Two, I gotta get my truck to Discount Tire. I picked up a screw, so that's going to take part of the morning. And from there, I don't know. It's good to be back and back home. Last couple weekends I've been gone. Two weeks ago, I went out to uh, West West Texas to look at the 40 acres that I bought out there in the high desert. And then last weekend I was, uh, in Memphis for the tornadoes and the thunderstorms and the rain and the hail. Uh, so anyway, uh, today is my granddaughter's birthday. Happy birthday, Madeline!
All right, let's check on the babies. How's everybody doing? Hey, hey, come on, come on, come see me! There you go.
Come see me.
Hey, Hazel. Yeah, everybody good?
Okay, let's give you guys some water. You know, I thought this chicken coop would be big enough, and it probably is for what they do, but I want them to run around. So I bought this thing, and it's just not big enough either, and it's not enough. So I'm thinking I'm gonna have to like add on to this and make it come way out here. And give these guys a whole lot more space to run in. Anyway, chickens are awesome. Bye, ladies. Well, here I am, Discount Tire. Hopefully I'm not here too long today. All right, here we go. 2 hours. 2 hours. I had 2 tires that needed to be checked. Both of them were leaking. They have patched and plugged, and now I can get my Saturday started. Haven't started the four-wheeler in a couple weeks and it wouldn't start, so looks like we got to jump it off.
Crank up that boy. That's not so good.
All right, first up today is I want to plant— I'm going to dig a hole and plant these yucca plants. When I went out to the, uh, those 40 acres out in the high desert of West Texas, this was a tree that was growing all over my property, and I really liked them. I was like, those are really pretty, uh, and I didn't have the ability to dig anything up out there, so I just bought a couple. I'm gonna plant them today. All right, I think this is going to be the placement of the first one, so let me put this there.
All right, second tree right here. All right.
What are you doing? What are you doing? All right, I forgot to film the install, but I mounted this retractable water hose. Thing to the house because I hated having a water hose just laying around.
Okay, let's see.
I added a little cactus right there and a couple rocks, and I added the rocks to, uh, protect— you can't run over by cars and stuff when people come here to work, but I think the rocks were pretty good. Hey, today is Sunday, another beautiful day. Uh, the number one task today is to clean up all this scrap right here. This is leftover from— the wood is from pouring the cement, and the metal is from the garage. So that's the first task today, is to get this cleaned up. All right, that is all the scrap. The rest of it is just decent sheet metal and some wood. I'm gonna go get the tractor so I can move all this out of the way, and then I'm gonna mow all this down and then try to create something for my mom's memorial. Okay, here we go, off to get the tractor. All right, next up on the list is the windmill. Look, it is so windy out here. This thing's only rated for like 40 miles an hour. And I mean, look at the trees and stuff. I'm up here on this hill and it's just windy. It's windy a lot, and this windmill is having a hard time. So we're going to try to repair it. All right, windmill is now back in action. I did not film it when I was doing it because the wind was blowing and it was Just a lot of mess. Hard to fix a windmill when the wind is blowing, but it's all back straight, looking good. All right, I made progress on this. I got my mom's plaque and what's her little marker there. And over here I have a little sitting area so you can come here and sit down and reflect. And I'm going to add a, a birdbath with a little fountain in it right here. And I've got a bunch of artificial flowers on the way, so I'm just going to kind of decorate the area, get it all cleaned up. But it makes a nice little, nice little sitting area right here just to sit and talk to Mom. All right. This here is my latest attachment. This is the Mega Mower Brush Monster. It is a 72-inch brush cutter. Skid steer comes in here. 3 hydraulic lines because it's high flow. It's got 4 blades underneath. Each blade weighs 10 pounds each. The mounting plate that the blades are mounted on are is 300 pounds. This whole thing weighs about 1,300 pounds. On the edges here, it's got serrated edges, so if you can push up against branches and cut branches. And what else? It's got capacity to cut up to a 10-inch tree. Now, that's not something you should do on a regular basis. If you do, you probably need a mulcher, but it can cut up, up to a 10-inch diameter tree. Anyway, didn't get a chance to use it this weekend. This thing is massive. Still haven't unboxed it. Maybe next weekend. All right, just a quick look at the pond. It is still holding water, so I would say that that product worked. Look, I put it all up here and you can see how it inflate, and which means— because you're supposed to get water in it after you do it. Actually, they said it's best to do it after it has water in it. So you can see how it makes a barrier. So that means it's not going to work up here. But so far so good. And I've got some pretty, uh, I got some footage with the trail cam right there of lots of deer like to come down here and play in the water and drink. So I'll add some, some of that to, uh, today's footage, but pretty pleased. It's getting there. Okay, Ace is losing his mind.
All right.
Yep. Touchdown!
