Are you a good communicator?

Blair Singer argues that communication isn't about what you say, it's about the response you get. Taking responsibility for how people actually hear you, not just what you intended to tell them, is what makes you a good communicator.
Here's a quick quiz. You go to a restaurant, you order something from the kitchen. The waiter takes your order, and what comes back is something not what you ordered. Now, whose fault is that? Is it the waiter? Is it the kitchen? Is it you? Who is it? Obviously, you communicated what you wanted and you didn't get what you wanted. So whose fault is it? Okay. I learned one thing over the years, that the communication starts with me. If I'm not getting the response I want, then I'm the problem. Communication bar, expression. Communication is the response you get, not what you delivered. So when you understand it from that point of view, you'll become a great communicator. You'll get what you want and you won't start abusing people because of your inability to get the message across. There are a lot of ways to do it properly, but the first thing is to take responsibility for it. If you understand that, let me know. Give me a comment. I'd love to hear your views on it. Be amazing.
