A short motivational sales talk (single-speaker) by Blair Singer emphasizing how salespeople should approach prospects as a guest rather than a pest. The speaker frames "approach and contact" as a step-by-step process to build rapport and discover customer needs while respecting the prospect's space.
So approach and contact. So my question to you is this. When you approach somebody, would you rather be considered a guest or a pest? Now think about that for a second. The average salesperson, the average person thinking that a salesperson is going to call on them is going to think, oh, they're pestering me. It's annoying. They're intruding in my space. Or you could be invited in as a guest. Which would you prefer? Well, if you're like anybody else, I'm assuming you would rather be a guest. That's right. So approach and contact is a very step by step process that you're going to be able to build rapport, number one. And number two, find out what a customer wants, all by which by honoring their space and where they're coming from. Got it.
