A short motivational monologue by Blair Singer arguing that while many can present, great teachers transform lives. The speaker identifies fear of others' opinions as the main barrier to effective group presentation and suggests framing audience upset as an opportunity to ask the right question and elicit insight that leads to transformation.
A good speaker delivers. A great teacher transforms lives. Which one are you? What if I were to tell you that the number one fear that people have from going in front of a room of people is probably the key to transforming the room? What are you thinking? Blair? Let me explain. A lot of people are good one on one, but getting in front of a group of people brings fear into their hearts. Why? Because they're afraid of what other people think about them. That's the bottom line. They're afraid that somebody will object, somebody will heckle them, somebody won't like them, people will get upset with them, and so they'll do everything. They'll step on eggshells, not tell the truth and deliver a presentation, but not transform a life or transform a business. What if I were to tell you that in that moment of upset, when a person's upset and their emotions high and their intelligence is low, if you know how to ask the right question to that person at the right time, they will come up with a writing.
