Do you really want to help people? Do you really want to help people that are on your team? If you're a teacher or coach, do you really want to help them? Well, here are three things. Three assumptions to keep in mind. Number one, particularly on the personal development side, most people have their own answers. They're just buried somewhere in there for whatever reason, but they can't get to them. That's number one. Number two, most of the people that you work with probably want to do well. Most people don't want to be mediocre. Most people don't want to be poor. They want to be good. They want to do well. That's the second assumption. Third assumption is, and this is the big one, don't give advice. Don't give advice. Think about this. If you can ask them the right question to unlock the answers they already have, are they going to learn it more? They can retain it more. Of course they are. So to be a great teacher, leader, coach, avoid the advice. Giving the distance between you or them and where they want to be is only the distance between their ears and the right question will unlock it.
