Push your boundaries! Find your wall!

Blair Singer tells the story of his friend Peter, a marathoner with severe diabetes who hits the wall during races and pushes through by remembering why he's running. Peter treats the wall as a boundary to break, not a limit to accept.
When you feel you've got nothing left in the tank and you're at the end. I want you to remember this story. Years ago, I had a friend by the name of Peter who was a doctor and an avid marathon runner. He also had diabetes so badly that he was losing his eyesight toward the end of his life. And I asked, I go, peter, why do you like running these marathons? He goes, I love them, Blair. I said, but when you get to that place called the wall, you know, runners describe that place where the. You feel like you can't go on anymore. Maybe you've had days like that, maybe you've had months like that. What do you do? How do you handle that, Peter? And he said this really simply. He goes, when I get to that place, I simply tell myself one thing. And that one thing is, this is why I'm doing this. This is why I'm doing this. I'm doing this to get to that wall, to find my boundary, to be able to push it to the new level. I never forgot that. All these years, when you reach the wall, just tell yourself this.
